Slow process to drop rug off - employee did not know how to enter new customers in to system. When I called to check on rug woman on phone was not friendly and could not give me any information on my rug status, so I had to call back every day until it was ready. Rug was returned dirtier than when I dropped it off. Full of animal hair and fuzz. They were willing to clean it again at no cost. It was returned a week later with less hair, but I still had to vacuum over twice. UPDATE: The owner called me back right away after receiving my letter of complaint and indicated they are working on improving the issues I described. In addition, he offered me a free rug cleaning or a discount on purchasing a rug from them. I appreciated his responsiveness to my complaints. CLARIFICATION TO OWNER?S RESPONSE: Even though the rug was used, it did not have major animal "problems" before dropping the rug off. Also, I was not offered the "deep wash" and therefore could not decline this option.

The cleaning was excellent, but the customer service was terrible. I was called at 11:00 am on the morning of my scheduled 1:00 pm visit, and told that the crew was running late, and could I reschedule? Because we had dismantled a basement home office for the cleaning, and were without Internet access, etc. rescheduling the following week was not an option. The receptionist said she would contact the crew and get right back to me. One and one-half hours later I hadn't heard and called her. She seemed to have forgotten about me. Again, offered to call the crew and call back, and she did not follow through with that. The crew showed up (to my surprise) when I was on hold to cancel them altogether. I spoke with Sam the owner following this. He was sympathetic and offered a free cleaning as compensation.

American cleans all types of rugs and are very professional about explaining whether stains can be removed. They have special de-odorizer washes for pet odors. If you drop-off and pre-pay, there is a slight discount.

They are reasonably priced, extremely knowledgeable, and have great customers service. They finished earlier than expected.

The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They actually did not recommend "deep cleaning" of the rug, due to the color of the dyes and the fibers used. Instead, they suggested a steam-cleaning (the lesser expensive option). The rug looks AWESOME. There is no stain, no odor, and it looks like new. I will definitely go there again. They even offer pick-up and delivery service, which I did not take advantage of.

Rugs were cleaned in the time frame specified. We have only picked up one so far, which was cleaned beyond our expectations. The rug is a very light color and was extremely dirty--with urine stains during potty training periods--and it looks great now.

POLITE & KNOWLEDGEABLE. RECOGNIZED OUR RUG AS DANISH FROM THE '70S, WHICH SURPRISED US, IT'S A SOUTHWESTERN-STYLE DESIGN. SERVICE DID TAKE A COUPLE OF WEEKS.

I DROPPED EVERYTHING OFF AND PICKED IT UP, I DID NOT KNOW THAT THEY DO PICKUP. FINISHED IN ABOUT 3 WEEKS BUT THIS WAS DURING BUSY SEASON. VERY CLEAN, LOOKED GREAT. WERE HIGH TRAFFIC FROM OUR CABIN, I WAS PLEASED.

THE GUY THAT DROPPED IT OFF AND PICKED IT UP WAS VERY NICE AND PERSONABLE. HE GAVE US ADVICE ON HOW TO CLEAN ANOTHER RUG TOO. THE PICK-UP AND DELIVERY SERVICE IS ESPECIALLY NICE. OUR RUG CAME BACK LOOKING GREAT. WE DEFINITELY PLAN TO USE THEM AGAIN.

THE RUGS WERE PICKED UP AND DELIVERED ON TIME AND THEY LOOK GREAT.

OUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN POSITIVE. I LIKE THE FACT THEY'RE BASED IN THE CITY -- AND NOT WAY OUT IN THE 'BURBS. GETTING RUGS TO THEM HAS SOMETIMES BEEN TRICKY, BUT IN LOOKING UP THEIR WEBSITE, I SEE THEIR DELIVERY CHARGES ARE PRETTY RESPONSIBLE. (THAT'S VALUE ADDED FOR ME, TOO!) THEY HAVE SALES AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR -- GET ON THEIR MAILING LIST.

THEY CLEANED AND BOUND THE CARPET TO MY SPECIFIC NEEDS. THEY COMPLETED THE WORK ON TIME AND WERE RESPONSIVE AND COURTEOUS. VERY EASY TO WORK WITH AND THE FINISHED RESULT WAS PERFECT.

THEY HAVE DONE EXCELLENT WORK REMOVING STAINS THAT LOOKED IMPOSSIBLE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

THE DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB WAS CLEAR, AND THE RESULTING BINDING WAS STRONG AND MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN THE ORIGINAL FRINGE; IT NICELY MATCHES THE COLORS IN THE RUG. THE RUG LOOKS BETTER AND IS MORE DURABLE. THEY MAY ALSO HAVE TOUCHED UP THE SIDES THAT WERE COMING UNGLUED. I AM PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS.

PRICEY, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. PUNCTUAL AND COMMUNICATIVE.

LIKE MAGIC, THEY WERE CLEAN. EXCEPTIONAL PRICE AND QUALITY. CLEANED ANIMAL ODOR OUT OF THE RUG. THEY GAVE MANY OPTIONS OF CLEANING THE RUGS AND WOULD GIVE ME THE BEST PRICE. SERVICE WAS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL. THEY PICK UP AND DELIVERED THE RUGS.
