I selected this service and then called to confirm that I could add 1 snowblower and 2 pieces of furniture and an old refrigerator. I was clear in the phone call that one of the pieces of furniture was large and could require more then 2 movers since it needed to go up a flight of stairs. I was told that they could handle it. I was then given a quote for fees to cover the extra pieces and was told to email them the week before we were scheduled to remind them of the additional pieces. We emailed as instructed and never heard back from the company. My husband called a few days before to again confirm the extra items and that we had large pieces of furniture in good shape that could be donated. The donation of furniture in good repair is advertised on the website. The person on the phone assured us everything was in order and that the movers would be aware of the extra items. On the scheduled day 2 men arrived and were unaware of the extra items. When they called the office they received different quotes from what we had previously been told. The office finally decided to go with our prior quotes. The 2 movers were not physically prepared to move the pieces of furniture and my husband had to help them move the refrigerator up the stairs. They said they were unable to move the big piece of furniture (previously discussed and was included in my email) up the stairs because it would require a 3rd mover. I responded that I was never told about this option and had been assured that the personnel coming could move what ever was on my list. When they moved the refrigerator through the house they put scratches on the stair case and a hole in my hallway wall. If my husband had not helped them they would not have been able to complete their job. The men who came were prompt and very polite but clearly not prepared to do the job. After they left I contacted the front office and was told that I should have asked for a third mover if I needed one. I explained that I had previously discussed the 1 furniture piece was very large and heavy and would have to come up a flight of stairs, at that point the person on the phone said that everyone says and I should have asked for a third mover. I informed him that I was never told that was an option or given a quote on that service after 2 phone calls and an email. Basically I was told it was my fault and that I was not clear in what I had requested. The person on the phone was rude and condescending and not at all helpful. If you need something moved get a professional moving company because Hunks Hauling Junk is not. It you need to get rid of your junk buy a Bagster at Home Depot/Lowes and do it yourself with no hassle and it will cost you much less.

They removed an old organ and a couch for us. The organ was one my husband and I couldn't move. They were accommodating and easy to work with.

Arrived on schedule, did exactly what they were supposed to do, polite.

Picked up junk. They are great as they take nearly everything, load it up themselves from a pile in the driveway, and clean up very well afterwards. This is the second time I've used them, with a Big Deal deal, and should I need that service again in the future I'd call them in a heartbeat.

They arrived when they said they would. They were energetic, pleasant and took what I had asked them to take. I would certainly recommend and use their service again.

The guys showed up on time and were very professional -- they were very quick. What I loved was that I didn't have to have all of the junk in one spot.

Hauled a quarter truck of electronics to recycle. Came on time. Were easy to work with. No problems at all. I would use them again.

It went very well. Only confusion was around the arrival window. Apparently it was a two hour window which wasn't clear at the time I made the appointment. Had to wait around for a couple hours which I wasn't anticipating. Once they were there though they were professional, efficient and thorough. Highly recommend.

They removed "junk". The "deal" was reasonably priced but I had more than what was covered by the deal; the cost of the extra removal was pricey.

Brent, the person I talked with on the phone, was very responsive and made scheduling easy. The guys showed up a little late, but were very efficient once they arrived. They were pleasant and professional. They scoped out all of the stuff we wanted them to take,quickly came up with a plan for the best way to load up the truck, and got to work. Also, they were knowledgeable and up front about their pricing in advance.

They were late, then did call to say they were planning to come. The special was $99 but there were all these other fees and it ended up being much more than the $99. They did a fine job hauling out the furniture and other stuff.

they came to my home and removed 2 beds, a crib, mattresses, and other household items. Very nice and professional. They were late however, but it worked out fine, and the owner called to check that his crew did arrive. I appreciated that.

These guys are great just great. They were punctual tidy and very pleasant on the phone even at the end of their day. They were pleasant to deal with and came took our stuff and left. No fuss no drama. There was a q over the amount of junk we put out (hey have you ever tried to measure 4 cubic yards with bric-a-brac?) But they didnt quarrel which we greatly appreciated. I wouldnt hesitate to recomend these guys to anyone. We will use these guys again in a heartbeat. Top marks

When I bought the coupon, the deal said the provider would contact me on or before 11/21/13. Then, without warning, a staff member appeared on my doorstep to "take out my junk" on 11/19/13 at noon. I said that I had no idea he was coming, and that I wanted to be notified in advance. He said I had been contacted by e-mail. (After he left, I went back through my e-mail and found no communications). I said I would like to reschedule. He called his boss and then told me there would be a $50 charge to reschedule. I said that, in that case, I would just cancel. I noted that I would let Angie's list know of the company's inadequate communication.

In the future they should be clearer about how the coupon works.

I received a call and emails back regarding appointment. Day of appointment I waited at the house for 1/2 hour after promised arrival time. I called and was told that the crew was on it's way. When it hit one hour and the crew had not arrived I called again and I was told that the job ahead of me had run long that they were on there way. I asked where they were coming from and was told Inver Grove Heights that they would be there in 15 minutes. I said that IVH was not 15 minutes and was sharply told that it was all freeway. I waited 15 minutes, then called and left a message that I was cancelling. 20 minutes later I received a call from the driver that they were just leaving IVH and would be to destination in 1/2 hour!

They arrived on time and worked with us to remove junk from two garages on our property.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for Junk Hauling. We had a bunch of carpet from our basement that we replaced and other things that we were getting rid of. First, I set the appointment for a couple weeks out. They were supposed to arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 am. We waited until 10:25 to call them to see what the delay was. I was told that they tried to call but there was something wrong with our phone. (Eventually I was able to figure out that they got a busy signal and didn't know what it was.) They then told me that they had a problem with their truck and had to go back for another. He said they should be here in 10-15 minutes. At 11:30 I called back because they still hadn't arrived. He told me he tried to call again, but again had the same problem with the phone. (At this point I am not believing his story because we had only one short call that morning. There was plenty of open time for him to call back. He claimed he tried twenty times, which sounded like BS the way he said it.) He said that since they couldn't reach me to confirm I was home they went to the next pick-up. Needless to say I was irate. I couldn't believe what he was saying. Couldn't confirm I was home? I had just talked with him an hour before and he told me there were on the way in 10-15 minutes. I had plans to be somewhere at 11:30 that I was going to be late for, but they showed up about 10 minutes later at 11:40. Once the guys were here they did the job quickly and well, and were done by Noon. But the guy running the appointments with the phone did not do a good job. I was surprised that the service was so bad since they had been recognized by Angie's List several years. My recommendation would be if you choose to use their service plan on the possibility of incompetence at the office. And make sure to give them more than one phone number so they can't BS you about not being able to reach you.

That was a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I'm not grading the cleanup crew that finally arrived, as we never even got to the point where they were able to provide any service, as the prices represented on site were so radically different that was represented in the Big Deal coupon. So my frustration is with the company and management, not the crew. I've spent way too much time trying to sort out the smoke from the mirrors with these guys, so rather than recount the experience in detail, I'll just say that if you think a coupon deal should cost more than the regular rates, hire these guys. If you think most homeowners shouldn't care about the ultimate price of services vs what has been represented to them, hire these guys. If you already spent enough time researching the science of hauling junk, so you know the difference between a yard, a cubic yard, a 'load', load 16's etc., then call these guys. And finally, if you haven't, and you challenge the pricing model, and you want to be talked over and around in an effort to make you feel stupid and petty for asking, definitely call these guys.

It was a little hard to get in contact with them to schedule the service. They need someone who just does office management and confirms appts, returns emails etc. The young men came on time and were very nice. They removed all of the stuff I had organized to take, then got all the cobwebs out of the basement ceiling beams and sprayed an insecticide and a deodorant. Please be aware of the space you will need to take your things away on the truck. I am not good with spacial visualization and 2 cubic yards is not a lot of room. I paid $159 for the Angie's list big deal then learned that the junk I had would fill one third of the truck. That was an additional $172. Not an unreasonable price when you consider that I didn't need to get a dumpster and haul things up from my basement on my own however not expected. The men came with a pricing sheet and I imagine that for most jobs they upsell. Overall pleased with the service and the men would be considered hunks if you were a teenage girl :). But they need to be more upfront about how much stuff the offer covers. They told me 2 cubic yards is equivalent to a washer and dryer. Much more clear.

Over all things went great and I will definitely be calling them when I need to get rid of more junk. The work crew arrived over an hour and a half late which forced me to reschedule two meetings. However, Brent did his best to make up for the delay by giving me a big discount on a pile of bricks, concrete and soil that I thought would be considered construction debris but are technically heavy matter. (I checked with another company who agreed that Brent's definition is the industry standard) Brent's guys were very polite, asked all of the right questions and cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely use Hunks Removing Junk in the future.

Our 50-plus year-old concrete double laundry tub had to be removed from our basement. We were concerned about this removal as the tub was an exceptionally heavy and large item, which most likely had been set into place during construction, and would certainly not fit within the stairwell. Understanding that this would be a demolition project added to our concern as the tub was positioned within three feet of a gas hot water heater and newer boiler system, and was seated on a cement floor which was coated with epoxy paint. I called Hunks Removing Junk and was assured they could handle the job. When Ben and Davis arrived, they listened attentively to our concerns about the potential damage that might be caused while smashing the tub with a sledge hammer. They utilized layers of cardboard under and around the tub -- a safety perimeter -- and went to work, hammering and hauling. Within 40 minutes the tub -- chunks of it -- was gone, the debris swept up and carried out, and the cardboard, which we opted to keep, was neatly stacked to one side. Nothing was damaged. Not a scratch or a dent. We are absolutely delighted with their work. They were professional, respectful of our property, and good humored. You may smile at the name of this company. You'll smile more when you experience their quality customer service.
