All Day Haul Away

Overall, they did a great job. Something happened on the original scheduled date and they did not show up, but when I called to inquire, they were very apologetic and responsive. They came on the next day and everything went smoothly.

They were fine. They were very cooperative, helpful, and efficient.

Scheduling was done in a reasonable amount of time. The service turned out great and they did what they were supposed to do. We had appliances that we wanted taken away. They took them even though it is outside their usual service and they were upfront with the additional fee.

They came and took all of our items including a piece of furniture. It turned out fine.

He was helpful and loaded all the stuff to be taken away. I was glad to know they recycle as much as possible or donate to organizations.

Well, first of all they were late and didn't let me know. I had to call. Only then did they tell me that their guys were delayed at another job. However, once I contacted them they did show up, albeit an hour late, and did a good job cleaning up. The guys who cleaned up were very professional; you didn't get the impression that they just hired someone off the street. Nice truck. Honestly, I'd use them again.

The service provided was fine. They were on time and polite.

We were very grateful for that. I like that they could handle that sleeper sofa. The work was great. It's gone. They provided the services that I wanted. When I bought the service, I was looking for something else. They adapted to what I wanted.

I've used them several times so that's why I just got another date. The big deal was out there so I figured I'd do it again. They came on time and they were very effective. They were very efficient. I have a little bit more so they quoted me a price for a little bit extra. I was satisfied with that. They come during the day that they say but they don't give you a timeframe. I would prefer to have a specific hour that they were going to show up. I had scheduled it. I called to double check on it and I didn't hear from them. It was 3 o'clock in the afternoon when they called and said they were sorry that they'd missed my call. They said they could still come over and do the work. I said, "Sure." They were in and out of here before 5 o'clock. They were able to do all of the work. That's why I bought another big deal for them.

It turned out very well. They were very competent and very thorough. They went right to work, got it done and were out of here in short order. I would use them again. In fact, they've written down their names and phone number so I can call them again. The price was very good.

The two guys came a little later than the appointment time set up because the load from a previous customer took awhile longer to clear from their truck. Once they arrived, they were very attentive to our project. They did not place any kind of tarps down on the carpeting while they were removing the junk from the house, but in the end, they really didn't make much of a mess. We were very appreciative of their positive, professional attitude in clearing the stuff we needed out of our house.

The "HUNKS" arrived at the schedule time. Both guys were professional, hard-working, and flexible. It was just like growing up when you'd tell your neighbor, "Those nice young men from down the block came over to my house and moved those heavy items out of our house." They were just like we've known them forever. I would gladly hire them again for another job.

It was fine. I used them the same day I purchased it or the next day. I had to call the schedule it with them. They were fast, easy to schedule with, and very courteous. It ended up being a little more than I thought it was going to be because of the size of their truck, they do it based on how full the truck is and we've used 1-800-GotJunk before and so their truck is a little bigger so it ended up being cheaper for me to do it because of the Angie's List deal but otherwise I think it would have been about the same. It's not that it was a bad deal, I think it's about comparable. So when 1-800-GotJunk when the last time we had stuff needed to haul away and that was the best deal that we could find so with the Angie's List deal, it was I think a better deal but otherwise it would have been about the same.

We cleaned out our basement and put everything in a corner that needed to be thrown out. Not only was Brent great to work with, but the young men that came were polite, efficient, and quickly removed all of the "junk". I would definitely hire them again.

I was told to expect the truck between 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. I called the office to see when they would be arriving - I was told by Brent he would call them and get back with me. He then called me back and said he couldn't reach them (?) but would have them call me with an ETA. I waited...waited...called Brent at 11:10 a.m. and received a voicemail message. I said if no one can arrive by 11:30 a.m. to forget it. At 11:30 a.m., still no truck and no phone call. I was on the phone to Angie's List to cancel everything and the truck arrived moments later. The guys on the truck said they weren't able to call me. Really? I've never known a business where staff aren't reachable by phone or cannot reach out and connect with a customer. One of the worst service experiences we have ever encountered.

This is the second time I've used them and everything went great. I have recommended them to my friends.

They came and cleaned our house and did a great job, great value.

They were fantastic! Not only were these wonderful young men tolerant of my messy basement, they calmly allowed me time to decide what additional needed to go. My decision only took about 2 minutes and then they hauled the stuff immediately out of my basement. I want my daughter to find someone like these guys. They work hard, show integrity, and patience. I would definitely use them again, although I hope I keep everything de-junked myself.

The 2 young men arrived on time, were respectful, polite, and took away the items in a short period of time. I would recommend this company and use it again. There were additional recycling costs, but they explained that to me ahead of time. I was very pleased.

We used a coupon from Angie's list to have an old shed that was left at our house removed. They were not extremely punctual (but the weather was bad and the roads were icy) but they kept us updated and did a great job of removing all of the debris from our snow filled lawn. We would definitely use this service again - and especially it we found another "deal" for service!

The young man arrived and was shown the work site. He politely explained that what was needed was not a part of the deal, and was work he wasn't prepared to do. A phone conversation with his manager confirmed this. We had misread or misinterpreted the Big Deal. The manager suggested that we call it off, and that we contact Angie's List for a refund. He said, Angie's List was good about this, and his company would be grateful if we hired them for future work on a Angie's List Big Deal. We agreed, thanked him, gave the young worker a soft drink and sent him on his way.

IT DID NOT GO WELL. I notice their ad on Angie?s is junk removal. That was not what my Angie?s list business was advertised as. Maybe this is where the problem is. The guys were not uniformed as ad on Angie?s states and they were not in the junk removal business. My special deal was garage organizing and power washing the garage floor. Looking over reviews ? prices and service was very inconsistent. The two young men evidently were not trained well for this. I am not blaming them for the poor job. They had no idea how to organize a garage let alone know how to care for things they removed or how to organize. They put full cardboard boxes in front of the garage door and many of them got wet when the water ran out of the garage- one so wet it broke opened when they picked it up to put in the garage. They then proceeded to take my moving boxes (without asking me if it would be okay - and no it wasn't) to place on the "wet floor", under the things they put back. (I was getting ready to move ? the reason for the power wash and the moving boxes) They were not careful with my things. Not everyone has just "junk" and tools in their garage. A valuable antique mirror was dropped and broken - the young man felt awful and took pictures for liability insurance, but of course I never heard from the owner regarding this. I had to talk with him - owner- re: the poor job: I was told by the young man that the power washing was done and things were ready to go back in ? BUT there were areas that were not clean ? wet dirt pushed up against a dresser I have in the garage to store my craft stuff. By the way that wasn?t moved out and the bottom of this white dresser was filthy with wet dirt all over the front. I have a steel shelving unit that I thought they would remove the stuff and take out the unit ? they did not. I was okay with this since so much was a struggle anyway. AND in the corners there was a LOT of dirt not even touched. The younger man was very good and took over, after the other quit, and finished the job. The older one (I think the one that should have been in charge) came back and apologized. AGAIN ? I am not blaming the workers ? they just did not have any idea what they should do in ?organizing and power washing. Each time I talked with Brent, he was extremely defensive and hard to work with, at onetime ? telling me that he listened to me, now I needed to listen to him - ?his? stories of people who don?t understand what his business does. This was advertised as a 4 hour job. When I talked with Brent he said NO ? 4 man hours. If things were done right in the first place, that is all it would have taken them. Oh ?Brent was coming right over to look at what was happening after one of the calls to him ? he would be at my place in 10 minutes and then he said 20 minutes. I believe he is up in a Northern suburb. I received a call quite a while later ? he was in Minnetonka where he thought his people were working ? I live SE of the river. ??? I did not have his ?coupon number? handy and I know the providers have this any way and I have never been asked for it by any of the other Angie?s providers I used. He told me I needed to pay him $599.00 without it. Then eventually he backed down and said he would not take any recycling (originally they took so much included) ?he told his guys to take it all back to my garage. Within 10 minutes later I found his ?Coupon code? and called him with it. He told me he ?believed me? before??? Huh?? After I said I would be calling Angie?s List??? IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Sorry for this long review but it was difficult. I think he needs to stick with JUNK REMOVAL. (I wrote this review right after the event but want4d to wait to make sure I wanted to send this. I really meant I when I said I think the company needs to stick with junk removal.)

Overall, this was a pleasant experience. There were a great many spider webs in our unfinished basement and it took quite a bit of time to remove them all. They hauled as much stuff as I expected. I asked them to remove a broken dehumidifier and I paid a small recycling fee (which I expected) for that item. The service was exactly what was promised in the deal description. We had some confusion at the beginning about scheduling - partially because some contact was thru the Angie's List site, some was direct e-mail and some was by phone. In the end, I was happy with the service.

They had to unhook the laundry appliances including the gas dryer. They probably expected the appliances would be disconnected and separated (the dryer was attached to the top of the washer), but they went about the task without complaining. The initial trip with the appliances cost $200 and the junk removal from the basement was $115.
