All Day Haul Away

Two fellows arrived with the truck. Removed items from basement and main floor. Courteous. Showed me the price list as we discussed additional items beyond the coupon value. Work was done quickly and smoothly. I would use this company again.

First it took them weeks to respond to multiple emails. Then they were scheduled to come on a Saturday and never showed up...didn't even call. Then they were scheduled to come the following week between 9-11 and didn't show up until 1...again no call to say they were gonna be late. I had to call them multiple times. Will never use them again...they wasted a lot of my time with no heads up or apology.

I bought a coupon for the dumpster, but was unable to get it within the time frame i wanted so the guy offered me another deal instead that worked out great. They loaded and removed a bunch of trash. Over all it was a good value

Very poor service. I bought the service on 9/4/14 and didn't hear from the service until 9/13/14 when I got an email through Angie's List.- Not a huge deal, I figured they must be busy. (Not sure what happened to the 2 day period) Made first phone contact with them on 9/22/14 at which time we arranged a date (Or so I thought) The arrangements were for the week of 9/26/14. 9/26/14 comes and goes. I hear nothing from them, so I called the afternoon on the 26th only to be told that they didn't have me on their schedule. Apparently no one knows what anyone is doing. Come to find out that they have me on the schedule for the 10th of October. I'm irritated, but I agreed that the 10th would still work. Today, October 10th, still nothing. I call to see what's going on and am told that I need to give them a credit card number or they're not going to deliver the container. They suggested that they someone was suppose to handle that when the appointment was setup initially. The fellow basically hollered at me that he wasn't going to deliver a container without a CC. That was the deal breaker. Who hollers at their customers for something the business goofed up on??? By this time, I'm fed up with having to chase this service down and decided that I'll find another service despite the fact that it'll cost more than this "deal". When I said I was canceling the order I get call from another person telling me that I'm "not going to find a better deal anywhere" as though that's going to get my mind off of getting hollered at and all the goof-ups I've had to deal with up to this point...? I am a small business owner/operator too. When I goof up - and I do goof up at times - I work extra hard to make up for it. I certainly don't holler at my customers. I'll pay more for quality service and I usually seek out the "little guy" to support small business. In this case, it was a mistake... I hope others have had a better experience with these guys. The service provider set up a time with me to provide the service but apparently did not realize that I live outside of the service area for this company. This realization came the day the service was to be provided. The provider was willing to provide the service anyway but I offered to seek a refund since it was so far out of the service provider's way. Overall, this was a frustrating experience but not the provider's fault.

Given a date for the dumpster called the day before and they were lost. Didn't return phone calls, dumpster was 4.3 cube instead of 5 cube. It was on wheels so everything going into had to clear five feet.

Provider contacted me promptly. This concerned a small dumpster, so I relayed a picture to them of what I was doing (a deck teardown with additional landscaping timbers). The timbers were an issue as they were not acceptable, so they tried to upsell be to another package to cover them. However, I made other arrangements for the timbers & wanted to use their dumpster for other materials which they said were acceptable. However, repeated attempts to email and call them were unsuccessful and I've had the junk in my yard for 3 weeks now without a reply. I'm moving on to a different vendor. ------ As an update, they eventually contacted me and performed the service as originally ordered. It went just fine. They blamed the rush of the Angies List 'big deal's on the communications issue; they weren't prepared for the quantity of business.

The work and scheduling were both fine. The workers were friendly and professional.

Little confusion on when to arrive, but showed up and took care of the job to satisfaction.

After discussing the dates I needed the dumpster, there was no availability. However, they worked with me and we managed to find an arrangement where I was able to get use of a dumpster on the date I needed. Since that particular dumpster was to be used later in the day, I only had roughly two hours to pack it up, but one of their employees helped me transport all of the demo debris into the dumpster. Overall, i was very impressed by their professionalism and their ability to find solutions. There are so many contractors and companies out there who would have simply said "no" and not helped me find a solution. I'm happy i found these guys and would recommend them to everyone.

I purchased the Big Deal, paid in advance, and submitted three possible dates for the dumpster rental. Business did not contact me; I finally called to set up a date. They were booked out for several weeks, offered a date and time to schedule the drop off, which I accepted. The date arrived; I cleared my schedule to be there for the drop off, but nobody showed. I waited hours, no show and no phone call. I called to get an update on the status, nobody answered or returned my phone message. Finally my husband called, twice, before he got through to someone who at first claimed not to know what was going on, then said they didn't have a dumpster for us, but we could rent a larger one and hire them to clear out what we wanted to put in it. No thank you, this was not the deal we had already paid for. We asked for a refund, which has not yet been provided.

Great service! They were able to come out the same day that I called, which was unexpected but nice. The guys arrived early, and took under 30 minutes to complete the job. We've used them before, and I know we will use them again in the future.

Terrific experience. Scheduled in a flash, two fabulously friendly and capable guys. Took the stuff we had ready and let us know there was still room for a little more if we wanted to add a couple things. There was a recycling fee of about $35 for electronics which we had not expected, but seemed fair enough. Sent a friendly "how did it go" email afterward. Impressive overall, very highly recommend, and will definitely use again.

The company was supposed to be here Friday. They never showed up and when I called they said they were behing and would be here Saturday afternoon, they didn't show again. Now when I call them the phone just rings and rings and no one answers or calls back.

They were a little hard to schedule. When I made my first scheduling call, on a Friday morning, I was asked if they could call me back, and they never did. I called back later, and could not get through. An email went unanswered. On Monday morning, I called again and was able to set up an appointment for the next day. After that, everything went smoothly. They arrived on time, were very pleasant to work with, and were finished in no time.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal on 8/24/14 for 3-day rental of a 5-cubic yard dumpster from Hunks Removing Junk. On 8/27, I received an email from Hunks asking me to call to schedule. We connected by phone 8/29 and scheduled drop off for 9/10 - the first available date. On 9/10, Hunks called and left a message asking me to call them. Phone tag ensued over the next couple of days and despite my request for them to leave a detailed message if they didn't reach me directly, the only messages ever left asked me to call them. The dumpster was not delivered, and I finally spoke to Brent at Hunks on 9/12. He explained unusual circumstances left them unable to deliver as scheduled. We rescheduled for 9/17, the next date available. On 9/16, Hunks left a message asking me to call them. I did and got voicemail. I said if the call was to confirm drop off the next day, we were ready and expecting them. If the call was to say there was a problem, please call me back. I did not get a call back, and no dumpster was dropped off on 9/17 as scheduled. More phone tag, and I called Angie's List asking what was going on. They offered to work with Hunks to have them provide the dumpster before the 30 day refund window closed or find another provider willing to perform the service. Based on recent reviews, they said it looked like Hunks was having a difficult time delivering on the dumpster Big Deal. The next morning, I received an Angie's List Big Deal email promoting another Big Deal from Hunks. Quite surprising that Angie's List would promote another deal when there were multiple problems with the previous Big Deal. <As an aside, I received yet ANOTHER Big Deal promotion email from Angie's List for Hunks this morning, 9/23!> I received a call from Brent on 9/19. He said he didn't know what happened, my appointment must have been entered into their system incorrectly (he's the only one I ever spoke to). He said he couldn't deliver the dumpster before 9/24, but offered to apply my payment toward a different service they offer and could come the next day. They would come and load our things on a truck, but we would be out of town and wanted to be there to ensure the proper items were removed. I said I would request a refund from Angie's List. Later that day I received an email from Angie's List stating they just spoke with Brent at Hunks and he would be calling me later. Of course I didn't receive a call because Brent and I had already spoken and agreed he couldn't provide the dumpster within the 30 day refund period. I emailed Angie's List the afternoon of 9/19 asking for a refund, and have not received a reply. This was my first experience with Angie's List and with Hunks. It was not a good one. The 30 day refund period ends tomorrow. Will I hear back from Angie's List?

I purchased the 5 cubic yard dumpster deal for $115. I contacted Brent right away to arrange a drop off date and they were booked for 2 weeks so I arranged for the dumpster to be dropped off on September 19th. When I called to reconfirm the dumpster on 9/16, Brent said that he didn't think he would have it available. Then he offered to send 2 guys with a truck and let me have the other special he was running for what I had already paid. That would have allowed more items to be picked up. We arranged it for September 19th between 3pm - 4pm. This is for my fathers house as he had to move in with us and is ill. They never showed up or called. At 4:15pm I started calling Brent and he didn't answer until I called several times. Then he assured me his guys were probably pulling up now. They weren't. So he tried contacting them and couldn't. He finally called me back and said he was still trying to locate his two crews. Then he finally called and said they weren't coming. I explained that I was paying a provider to care for my father while I was trying to have these items picked up. So Brent said he would come on Sunday, September 21st between 3pm - 4pm and bring another guy. I explained to him my load was large and I would pay extra. Brent asked me to call him at 2:30pm to remind him. I called and no answer. I left a message and then tried back again 10 minutes later. No answer. Finally Brent called me and assured me they would be there between 3:30pm and 4pm. At 4:15pm I called him and no answer. He finally called me at 4:40pm and said that they were going to do another job and would be by later. I explained I was paying for my father's care and were they ever going to show up? Brent said I was abusive and yelling. I wasn't but my father's phone is adjusted for him as it is set for loud hearing and loud speaking and I don't know how to change it. I only asked him if he was ever going to show up and when. Brent didn't like that. He hung up on me. Just as I was getting ready to leave he called back and said they could come. I asked when they were going to show up and he called me abusive again. The guy is crazy. I didn't yell or swear - I just wanted to know if and when they were ever going to show up. Finally I gave up and asked for a refund. Brent said he would (not holding my breath) as he was just doing me a favor anyway as he normally doesn't work Sundays. I have witnesses to this conversation. Only do business with them if you don't care if and when they may show up.

They were fast and efficient. They don’t just take the junk but also try to figure out how to get rid of it in a responsible way. I had them help me with a bunch of stuff in my garage such as furniture and wood. The company sent 2 techs.

UPDATE: Two men came out today at 800 to get the junk -I had not known they would be here but was very happy to get rid of this stuff. Very nice professional guys. Told me I could get rid of more junk if I wanted. Got rid of 3 cubic feet of junk. They also had to deal to with bees from my neighbors yard that were stirred up when they went by so I did not add more (obviously). Based on reading thought the review, I think perhaps the company is perhaps very busy with lots of calls and work and sometimes things fall through the cracks. I appreciate them addressing it.

They were very helpful, very good customer service, and very professional but couldn’t provide the services when I needed it.

These guys were great! I bought a coupon through Angie's List for $99 for a 1/4 truck. When the guys arrived I asked if they could just take the 1/4 load and I'd take care of the rest, so I wouldn't have an additional charge. They were totally fine with that and made sure to take the largest, most difficult items first. They loaded the truck in such a way that very little remained and what did remain was very easy to dispose of myself. My only slight complaint is that, once I purchased the coupon, Angie's List said that they would contact me to schedule. They didn't. I called them. But once I did they came the next morning, so it was easy to schedule with them. Perhaps they would have contacted me eventually, but I wanted it done ASAP, so I didn't wait more than a day.

Good value. They got in behind the garage and pulled the stuff out. Very nice.

Was very pleased with service. Arrived on time, even took extra stuff since they had extra space. Very Pleased.

It took a couple calls before I could get appointment set up. Then they came a couple hours late with their truck almost full. I think HunksRJ got overbooked with Groupon offers and Big Deals with Angie's List. I may try them again another time, but not when they are seen with Groupon and Big Deal offers.Both times I have used HunksRJ, the employees have been exceptionally polite and professional.

When I realized the materials needing hauling included construction debris - and a lot - I emailed Hunks to cancel my purchase of a small junk removal. I sent the email yesterday morning and haven't heard back from Hunks yet. I'm assuming everything was pretty straightforward, but would like a follow up email from someone!
