Total Comfort Heating and Cooling

The TC team was timely, professional, considerate of our home's needs (even down to protecting the wood flooring & cleaning up after the installments). The first step was coming out to determine what we needed to make our home more energy efficient & work better than our current system (which was too large for our size of home). The next day the installation was scheduled. The team came out was courteous and worked quickly. By the time they left you had never known they were there aside from the heating/cooling working better than ever! I also appreciated the fact they had followed up with us afterwards making sure everything was working accordingly. I am happy to refer them to anyone who has heating & cooling needs.

I had an a/c tuneup and they also cleaned all the filters for the spring check up. I have been using them since 1997. I have three heating and a/c zones in my home. I had called around trying to find someone who knew about the system, and they were the most knowledgeable when it came to that type of system. They are prompt, courteous and friendly. I even leave my home with them still here. I even leave my garage door opener for them, that shows how much I trust them. I have dealt with them exclusively since '97 and would never think of calling anyone else.

When my furnace failed, naturally on a Sunday, and the coldest day in January, I was panicky. At the time I had a terminally ill husband and Pug dog, and I was concerned they would freeze without heat while I was at work. The technician who came that Sunday assured me all would be well, the whole crew came early Monday morning and the job was completed by 7:00 P.M. Monday. The temperature never fell below 65 degrees. One of the technicians even called me a few times during the day to tell me my husband and little Pug were just fine and warm! On May 29th I had my air conditioner tune-up done, and the technician did the usual thorough job, explaining everything that was done. Total Comfort deserves the highest rating possible, even higher. A++++++++

They were very easy to work with during the sales cycle. Gave a thorough proposal and were willing answer all my questions and gave me several options to chose from. Once selected they scheduled the time and checked back several times to ensure that the time would work. The workers were on time and worked the entire day to finish the removal of the old furnace and a/c and installation of the new units. They took the time to go through everything with me and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. A very good experience.

Good. They arrived on time. They did what I expected them to do. Tune up was complete and a great price. I would recommend them in the future.

Great products - we bought a Trane 97% efficiency furnace and a new Trane AC from them through Home Depot. The service was great and the new products have transformed the comfort in the house (replacing the original 1986 set). Quality was great. Install was thorough. Worth the cost - I'm not sure how competitive the price was, but the workmanship and ease makes it worthwhile.

Requested a quote on an air conditioner replacement. Sales tech came out in a few days, and appeared to be very knowledgeable. The problem was he was intent on selling a heating and cooling system. He stated the cold air return was undersize, one of the worst he had seen. Many other problems with my current furnace. I informed him that the time was not right for me to replace the system. Nevertheless, he left leaving a system quote. I called later advising I was not buying a system, and set up an appointment for an air conditioner only quote. He did come out again and gave me a quote. He was the highest of four quotes.

Total Comfort is a one stop shop providing excellent products, expertise, and service. They are very easy to work with and delivered on every promise on a timely basis. Additionally, they were very respectful of our home and garden conditions, insuring that they left us in the same condition as when they came. I'd recommend these folks for your home system needs. It's great to have one company to call/work with when you need help!!!!

Used Total Comfort because they are the Home Depot contractor for HVAC. The estimator spent a lot of time with us and made reasonable product and configuration recommendations. (I did not rate the company on price, as I didn't obtain any competitive estimates.) Once we made a decision to proceed with the job, installation was scheduled for three days later. We were impressed with the installation team for the following reasons: 1. They started early (7:30 a.m.) and worked all day (6 p.m.), until the job was complete. They didn't even take a lunch break. 2. They were very clean and left the house without a trace of them having been there. 3. They explained how the equipment worked. Overall, very happy with the experience.

On 12/19/2012 I noticed our water heating leaking (couple months after the warranty ran out). A friend recommended Total Comfort. After researching on the internet for a few hours I called Total Comfort and talked with their salesman (Steve). Steve is very knowledgeable and asked all the right questions. How long we would be staying in the house, what our hot water needs are (we have a whirlpool tub) and anything under 70 gallon may not be enough? We also talked about the other alternatives, electric and tank-less. The return on the cost of a tank-less is about 20 years and I preferred gas over electric. After discussing with Steve we settled on a 75 gallon Rheem gas water heater with the anode rod for longer life. The warranty is 2 years labor and 12 years parts. They could fit the install into their schedule within 2 days was very appreciated as I didn't want to go into the Christmas week with a leaking water heater. Steve and the installer were very professional. The installer showed up on time, didn't make a mess getting the old water heater out or the new one in. There was no mess left in the installation area. The water heater is performing as expected and we have not had a shortage of hot water. We may have spent a little more than planned but great service goes a long way in my book. Over all we are extremely pleased with this purchase and would recommend Total Comfort to anyone with appliance needs. Loren Pietrzak

the installers arrived on time. They were clean and efficient. they explained what they were doing and why. They answered all of our questions. they completely cleaned up after the job was done.

My mother was a seventy four years old at the time her A/C unit needed to be replaced. In the past my mother has really struggled with contractors not performing the work agreed upon, poor craftsmanship or installing inferior equipment. She called Total Comfort, because they were located near her home, and made sure that I would be for the appointment. Steve came out to my mother's house and spent a lot of time learning how she uses both the heating and cooling in her house. Steve also spent a lot of time finding out how well her current furnace and the old A/C unit performed and what improvements if any she would like out of a new system. Steve then inspected my mother house and returned with all the problems he found. Her returned duct work was undersized, the a/c coil was the wrong size and the heat exchanger in her furnace was cracked. I thought to myself here we go. Steve took me on a tour of my mothers house explaining everything showing me the cracks in the heat exchanger, the bracket that was installed to hold the under sized a/c coil restricting the airflow through what he called the plenum (the large square supply air duct that connects to the furnace) and finally pointing out the return duct was under sized. He further explained that the size of the return duct was normal for the period when her house was built but not the standard of today. But there was no excuse for the size of the a/c coil and the combination of the two created some real inefficiencies. He presented my mother with several options and possible solutions. After a long discussion of what was right for her, she decided to purchase a new furnance and a/c system. My mother she was floored that the price for a the new Trane system plus the extra return duct work would be lower than the cost of her furnace replaced just 15 years ago. The installation was quick and the installers were very professional. She has been thru all four season and she can't stop talking to everyone about how happy she is with her new furnace and a/c. This is why am writing this review and I really can't say enough about Total Comfort and would recommend Total Comfort to anyone.

It was all do fast. In and out. Clean and on time

We woke up on a cold morning to find our furnace making a loud screeching noise. We called and Total Comfort sent a service tech (Mitch) out who was at our home within an hour or two. After examining our furnace, he said that he had fixed it enough so that it wasn't making any noise but the issue was going to be quite expensive to fix. We decided to have a consultant out to give us a bid on a new, more efficient system. Steve came to our house a couple of days later. He spent a lot of time learning how we use both the heating and cooling in our house. He presented us with several options and solutions. He was fair and honest. We purchased a complete Trane system. The system we bought qualified us for a free ipad! The installers came the following week. They were also very professional and kind. Ean and Keith, layed tarps down from the door all the way to the utility room. The completely explained the process to us and made sure we understood how long everything was going to take. They left the utility room nice and clean. The new system is warm and quiet. I can't wait to see the difference this summer with the new AC. Thanks to Total Comfort.

Total Comfort came in to do the regular check up on the heater and water heater... What they found was not good!!! Lets start with 2 inches of water in the bottom of the heater! And a water heater that was leaking... The first tech was able to get the water out of the heater and order the part to fix the problem... He also arranged for the water heater to be replaced. About a week late everything was fixed, the old water heater was taken away and the area was left clean! I had let my service agreement laps, I will not do that again!

Job was simple, so not much to say. Furnace was inspected and cleaned. Gave good advice on what can be done to reduce dust, better distribute heat, and increase efficiency. Would use them again.

Total Comfort installed an air exchanger for us in 2008. The insulation around the vent through the garage was sagging. Yes, I was told that there may be a $99.95 service call charge. However, Scott was in my garage for five minutes when he told me the sagging was normal. I asked him to look at the air exchanger in the basement and he said he guessed I should get something for my $99. He had no appointments for the rest of the day (he was done here at 1 pm). I asked if some of the charge could be applied to future work on a dryer vent and was told that wasn't possible. I feel that as a repeat customer some accommodation was in order. UPDATE: After speaking with service manager, the service charge was reduced. She also addressed my concerns in a satisfactory manner. I changed my ratings as a result.
