Contacted them about canceling, due to me having a more urgent need. They were professional and polite over the phone. However, it could have been more timely.

Two technicians arrived on time as scheduled. They protected the area and went to work removing the old system. They were very easy to work with and completed the job by day end. They gave great advice on operating the units and gave recommendations for us. They thoroughly cleaned up when they were complete and left.

I've counted on these guys for ever--maybe 20 years. They took care of things before I moved here, in 2000, and lived in a town home. When the house next door burned down and melted our pipe. Centerpoint Energy turned off the gas and wouldn't turn it on till this was fixed. Total Comfort came, replaced the pipe, checked out the furnace also and found the motor worn down, which we then replaced. Saved me the price of a whole new furnace. When I moved here, my fiancé had hired some "fly-by-night" to put in a new furnace. Well it wasn't nearly up to code, and I hired these guys to put the furnace up to code after splitting with the fiancé. They worked long and hard and got it up to code for me. That was in 2003 or 2004. I've hired them for the town home, and lived there 10 years, and now in this house for almost 15 years, so I know I've relied on them for many, many years. They are a good, reliable company and I would recommend them to anyone for anything. They used to fix broken appliances, but changed to just furnace and air conditioner work some years ago. I wish they still did other appliance repairs, then I wouldn't have to have Centerpoint's repair coverage as they are often too busy to get to you soon when things happen. Their people are not as respectful and helpful as Total Comfort's crew. They are excellent. He was very professional and very thorough in giving a very good explanation of everything that goes on and everything that is involved. It was sort of educating the home owner too while they were preparing their quote, they were very good at that. The day of service they had ample people working on the project so it was very fast and efficient that I could tell they were very knowledgeable and they did a good job. They spent a fair amount of time communicating with us on exactly what they were doing and what we would have to do so that was good. The price was fair.

The sales person who came to the job site was extremely knowledgeable, and spent 2 hours doing a whole-house assessment. He offered several (financial) levels of solutions, recommending one that was most appropriate, not most expensive. The guys who performed the work were punctual, actually, they showed up at the right time, but a day early - which turned out to work for the better. All the work was done carefully and methodically with a minimum of mess and disturbance. The work took two full days to complete and when they left, there was no sign that they'd been here. Everything was clean and tidy. Everything to be done was explained prior to the start of work, and a 'how-to' discussion was had at the end so operation of the new equipment was clear. Questions were answered promptly and completely in layman terms. They also filed all the eligible rebate papers, for which the checks are now arriving in the mail. The house is now quite and comfortable with even heating and cooling. There's no more huge WOOSH when the furnace or a/c start up. The system is quiet and efficient, just the way it aught to be!

I was very pleased with the technician who inspected my furnace. He was very thorough and willing to explain what he was doing. He provided some useful information for making my system run more efficiently.

t had been in the mid to upper 80's and I didn't sleep well the night before as our AC was not working and bedroom is on upper level. Had called another AL provider the day before and by 9 am the next day, still had not heard back. Got back on AL and found Total Comfort and called them. They said a tech would call me. Within 30 minutes Mike called. I explained our situation and he explained if I have him come out today (which that availability surprised me) it would be $100 extra for service call ($200 vs $100). I told him that was fine. He said he should be there by noon and would call if that changed. Mike pulled in the driveway at 12:05 pm, was courteous, thorough and very professional. He fixed the AC, checked the system for balance and static pressure and 2 hours later the bill was still the same. Based on the response, service and thoroughness, I would HIGHLY recommend. We are new to the area and were not sure who to use. Total Comfort gets an A all the way around in my book.

Everything went great from start to finish. They were apologetic that they couldn't get out sooner, but with how packed my schedule was we made the appointment for a week and a half out. The technician called a couple times prior to arrival as he said he would. He was prompt, professional and came across as very knowledgeable. I took his advise on the issues that we have had with the AC and since he's left, things have been going great.

Excellent. Arrived on time, finished in the expected time frame. Cleaned up all areas, took away all trash. Very professional, very courteous installation guys. Did a few extra, unexpected services 1. Installed a door stop that I bought on the door hinge so the door wouldn't hit the furnace. 2. Questioned why the work directions called for moving my humidifer higher up on the duct. Called the sales guy to confirm his reasoning. Decided the best option was to flip the humidifier and that shorten the length of the duct work need. Gave a cleaner, more stable install of the duct. 3. Set my programmable thermostat & patiently taught me how to do it. 4. Allowed me to take pictures during the installation.

Claimed compressor would not turn on and the voltages were not high enough to turn it on. Said capacitor was at fault and that he recommend replacing it and adding a hard start kit also. And the contactor could be replaced. All these components show advanced indication of failure. Explained age and condition to me and I indicated that because of age would rather replace than fix. I contacted another air conditioner technician and he said someone switched the power wires so that the fan power was hooked up to the compressor which was not enough to start compressor. When he reconnected the wires correctly the compressor fired right up and everything was working. The air conditioner performed well in 2013 in all the hot weather and no one touched the unit in over 4 years. If it worked fine last year and no one touched the unit how did the wires get changed? I paid $89.00 to angies list for an air conditioner tune-up and all I got was a sales pitch for repair I did not need and almost bought a new unit.

Our gas company told us we needed a new furnace. We found Total Comfort in our AAA brochure and gave them a call. Brad came to our house to assess our situation. We are first time home owners and were pretty overwhelmed. He was very patient with us. He explained the options we had, showing us pricing and explaining the pros and cons of the different choices. He helped us get financing arranged through a third party. We set up an appointment to get a new furnace and A/C. The workers arrived on time, were very respectful of our home and polite. They did a good job and really cleaned up our whole operation. They walked us through what they did and showed us all our new equipment, explaining what we had to do to maintain it and how to get a hold of them if there were any problems (we haven't had any). Brad even stopped by while they were installing it to make sure we were comfortable and getting taken care of. We are very happy we chose Total Comfort. They did a fabulous job and I feel confident that they will take great care of us if we ever need them in the future!

Total Comfort came out for the check-up and found that one of the connections in our furnace was glued with the wrong kind of glue. (PVC rather than metal pipe?) They did not have the glue, but were out within the week to fix it. They also found we have a humidifier that was never used in the 8 years I have lived in the house, so they connected that as well and it works. Very easy to work with and very respectful of taking their shoes off too. I will call them with all my furnace needs.

We had a our furnace fan die at 11:00pm on Saturday night. The 24 hour emergency call number somehow forwarded our call to the company salesperson, who was not expecting calls. She was very nice, and helped us to connect with the service technician. Unfortunately he did not have any replacement fans available at that time, but agreed to some out the next morning at 9. He called at 8:30, and was here by 9:15 on Sunday morning. He had the parts, and determined the cause. He provided us a choice between a refurbished unit, or a new upgrade. We chose the refurbished, and they provided a 1 year parts and labor warranty. He found a couple of other items that needed service and replacement. Made the changes after we agreed, and the furnace is running wonderfully.

He was very friendly. He was very knowledgable and pleasant to work with. He was also prompt.

Thank you Total Comfort! No one wants to hear that a repair is needed, but while inspecting the system Thomas correctly diagnosed the unsafe expansion tank. The tank had actually leaked and rusted at the seam (not in the usual water connection valve area). Thomas called the office to arrange to have someone come out the next day for this lengthy job. In the office, Linda was working to find the person with the right experience and had to juggle a few technicians' schedules to do so. In her dedication, she called me around 6:30 that same evening rather than waiting until the next day to call. Thanks Linda! When the technician came out he unexpectedly needed another part. He drove from from northeast metro to the west metro, just to acquire the part and get it installed the same day. He was working on my system from 9:30 - 5:30, straight through so that I would have heat by the end of the day. (I'd name him here, but I forgot his name. He was very skilled and explained anything that I was interested in learning.) The cost of the repair was high due to the need for a specialist to purge air from the entire system (including all the tubing under the floors). Thank you to the entire Total Comfort team that worked on (or behind the scenes on) my boiler system. This was my first experience with Total Comfort and I plan to recommend them to my many friends and neighbors with radiant floor heat.

I have done business with Total comfort for many years now and they have never let me down. They are always here in a timely manner and have always been very friendly and helpful. I would recommend to everyone.

Work was done by three men over a very long - for them - day. They removed the old units, installed the new ones, did a lot of necessary duct work to balance conditions over two stories of living space. The air conditioner was installed on a new gravel base with a composite foundation, the furnace was installed where the old one had been with the duct work placed so as to not interfere with our shrubs. Throughout the installation the men were polite, understanding and available to answer questions. When the installation was completed they cleaned up very well, were patient in explaining everything to us and very carefully explained the rebate process to us. The company handled all paper work for local permits, state and federal rebates as well as local utility companies rebates. Two day later - following the completion of the installation - we received a phone call from our salesman inquiring how things had gone. I explained that all went well except for one small problem. The next day a technician was at our house, he spent three hours solving the problem and now everything is as it should be. Yesterday - two months after the work was completed - I received another call from our salesman asking if all was still good. This obviously is a company where customer satisfaction is very important to them and one that will do whatever it takes to bring that about. I don't think I'll need a new air conditioner or furnace anytime in the near future but I will call on them for all maintenance needs relative to this work. I would strongly recommend them to anyone needing this type of service!

A little back story. Our home was built in 1986 and we replaced the hvac 6 years ago from a service company my neighbor used at a cost of $8500. The 3rd floor bedrooms have always been uncomfortably warm and I was told the new system would fix it. It didn't. Whenever the outside temps hit 85F +, our AC unit would freeze up and after 6 years, we were on our 3rd blower motor. I had enough when I tried to turn on the AC this spring and it failed again. A friend recommended Total Comfort and I called them to see what was wrong with it. First the bad news. After so many "lock ups" because of the A coil freezing up, our compressor was shot but unfortunately the news got worse. The expert from Total Comfort... Gary, took the time to explain what was causing all the problems and it wasn't the equipment I had purchased but the way it was installed given the duct work in my home. He spent a great deal of time going over how all of the bottle necks in my ducts as well as the installation of our old zone system was causing the entire hvac network to overwork and ultimately fail. Sadly, there was no band aid if I wanted it to work properly so we bit the built and replaced the entire hvac system again including reworking the ducting in the furnace room. The good news...WOW what a difference. Gary went over all the options and I decided to put in a high efficiency Trane furnace and a multi stage AC compressor. While this was a more expensive up front, we plan on staying in the house for many years so should recoup the costs down the road in energy savings. The install crew was punctual, clean and very polite when I hung around to ask them questions. They wanted to get our system up and running as it was supposed to be hot in the next few days so asked if they could stay through dinner time to complete it. Who does that today? We thanked them and said of course. I can't believe what a difference from our old (or original) hvac system. It is quiet and whatever temp we set the control to it stays at. Our bedrooms have NEVER been this cool no matter what the outside temps. When you put your hand by a floor register, you can feel it blowing cold air everywhere...can you believe that? Cold air when the AC is on...what a concept! ;) In closing, we are 100% satisfied with Total Comfort. They took the time to explain everything from start to finish and not just sell us another hvac system no better than the previous one. It was obvious to me they have incredible expertise over and above the norm so I was confident this time I made the right choice. The original builder's installation was unfortunately not the best and the second installer just wanted to take the easy way and replace what we had instead of making it correct. Gary at Total Comfort DID care and our hvac is performing exactly as it should have from the beginning. Thanks Total Comfort!

We first met with Brad who was super friendly and informative for an estimate. As new home owners, there was a lot of things we didn't know about when purchasing our home and Brad took the time to walk through and educate us. Total Comfort went above and beyond the installation by following up and making sure everything had gone as planned and met our expectation. As new homeowners, we had a lot of questions; before, during and after the install the technicians took the time to show and explain all of the parts of our new system. On top of that, by taking the suggestions from Brad and getting a new water heater, we ended up saving thousands of dollars we may have spent on trying to figure out an issue with our water. We are so happy that we worked with them and had the opportunity to meet such an honest hardworking bunch. We recommend them to all of our friends and family and we love how their work really made such a difference in the comfort of our home.

Scott was very professional, honest and helpful. We had a bad experience with a different company and were a little guarded but Scott knew what he was talking about, did not talk me into anything I didn't need and was efficient. He was scheduled to come in the afternoon but got a cancellation so he was there early. He was very quick about his work.
