Direct Home Appliance Service

Fridge stopped working the weekend prior to New Year's. Direct Home was able to come out the day we called. Although I was concerned that we'd need a new board, John was able to re-solder it so that the compressor relay worked properly.

Dave arrived on time preformed the necessary repair in 15 minutes. Cost was reasonable, he was timely... very pleased with service

It went very well. The technician was prompt and efficient. He took care of everything in short order and made some suggestions for the future.

It was an emergency. Our refrigerator stopped working. And it was a hot weekend. But Jon responded anyway and fixed the problem. While he was here we mentioned a problem we had been having with our stove burner, and he ordered a part and came back and fixed that too. He is an appliance genius.

The service worked well - our fridge is up and running. He guarenteed his work and the computer for a few years, so that I a relief to know if something goes wrongs they will come back and fix it.

Came to my house to provide an estimate. The job took more than 4 hours. He came on a Sunday as it would have been difficult to do during the week as it was time consuming. Had the parts and tools and left everything clean.

Owner/technician responded same day to our request to fix broken washing machine. He came promptly when he said he would and quickly diagnosed the problem, which was not as serious as we had feared. He also found a number of interesting objects in the filter, and worked with humor and speed to solve the problem. Fortunately, he was quickly able to obtain the part, return and complete the job in short order. He was knowledgeable about the brand of washing machine, and professional throughout the experience. A beneficial side effect of this event was learning our son had been putting detergent directly into the drum instead of into the intended compartment at top of washer. Good lesson also learned about emptying pockets before putting clothes in washer!

OUTSTANDING quality service! Mr. Grandy spent time on the phone AHEAD of time to consult to see if it was worth fixing an older dishwasher/conduct a service call. On the initial visit, he was able to quickly and accurately diagnose the problem. He was then able to source the part for an older obscure machine AND willing to come on a Saturday to install. The cost for all this was below what we expected given the quality of service we received. I don't write many reviews, however, this level of service deserves public recognition! Based on this experience, we would most definitely use their services again and would highly recommend Direct Home Appliance Service to our family and friends.

If you have a top loading Matag washer like ours it is a good idea once every so often to lift the top part of the agitator and lift it off to inspect it for dirt. You need a screw driver or just a hard grap and jerk it up. Clean out with regular soap and water and push back on.

Got an estimate after speaking with Jon and Kelly (i think that was her name) that include the service call, parts and approximate time for labor. In terms of expectation, the price was close to what I expected. Something to think about- go to their website- they do have a $10 off coupon for service calls. Jon was supposed to call me ~30 min before he arrived since I would be coming from work. He forgot but luckily, I could get there in 15 minutes so there was no issue. He fixed the problem, was very nice- we chitchatted while he worked.

Jon was great and I do recommend his service, the parts cost however, $50 for a compatible part that has to be zip tied into place I wasn't feeling so much.

It was just after 12 Noon on a Saturday that I discovered my clothes washer would fill with water, but not continue with the agitation cycle. I checked Angie's List for a repair service in my area that might also have Saturday service. Direct Home Appliance Repair had that as well as high ratings! I called and asked if I might be able to get service yet that day. The person answering the phone indicated it was not likely because their schedule for the day was full, but said she would call the technician in the field to check. She called me right back and confirmed that they would not be able to come that same afternoon. However, I did set up a appointment for Monday morning. The technician arrived on schedule and took about 15 minutes to repair the problem. He was very pleasant, professional, and competent. . . . I really liked that i was able to talk to someone on Saturday and get the appointment set up right away so I wouldn't have to continue to think about it over the weekend.

I called about 11:00 thursday morning and was immediately given an appointment time between 3 and 5 that afternoon. I asked that the repairman call when he was on his way so we could get our dogs out of the way. Many service men have ignored this request in the past, but not this one. He called about to say he was on his way and arrived about 4:00. He was neat, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He took down my stackable dryer, fixed it, and put it back and was gone by 5. I was very impressed and will definitely keep his card!

I left a message for Direct Home Appliance at about 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. By 8:18 the morning after, I received a callback from Mary. I returned her call and she was able to set up an appointment later that day. Dave appeared for the appointment and spent half an hour attempting to determine if there was a possible leak. It turned out we could not reproduce the original problem (to his dismay, bless his heart). He was professional and appeared very knowledgeable about the appliance (my stackable washer) and kept me informed of what he was doing and why. The service charge was eminently reasonable and Direct Home offers a 30-day callback guarantee if the problem manifests itself again, a business practice which is laudable. I will certainly use these folks in the future for all my major appliance repair needs. I am particularly impressed with their responsiveness to customers. Well done.

I called at 2:30. Dave arrived at 3:30 and was done by 3:50. When compared with Home Service Plus who said they couldn't send anyone out until 9 days later, this was FANTASTIC. I have since cancelled my HSP plan and will use Direct Home Appliance Service as things require.

It went great. He was very professional and straightforward. I would use them again and/or recommend them to others.

I called DH at 9am based on location (close to my home) and previous reviews. Was told that service tech would be available between 10 and 1. Tech arrived at 11 and was done by 1145. Tech was very freindly, professional and explained everything to me clearly. Price was fair I fell. I will use them if necessary.

Our high-end JennAir electric oven stopped working recently and the control panel began beeping uncontrollably at all hours of the day. We debated replacing it with a new one, since we assumed it would be a very expensive repair and were nervous about hiring a repair service. We ultimately decided we didn?t want to spend $2,000 replacing the whole oven and stove, and so decided to try our luck at repairing it. Glad we did! Dave from Direct Home was friendly, reliable and repaired our oven at a very reasonable price. We had called several different appliance repair places and a couple even told us they wouldn?t repair our oven since it was a costly repair due to the electronics nature of the issue. But when we called Direct Home, they said they were happy to help us and would even allow us to buy the parts online ourselves if we were so inclined. (We later discovered that they could buy them for the same price as we could ? even possibly less - so went through them.) Dave came out the same day we reached him to examine the oven. He narrowed the problem down to two issues ? either our oven?s control panel (the buttons board) or the electronic control. He explained that he would have to order both parts but that we could return one if we didn?t need it. I said that sounded fine, so he ordered both parts. A week and a half later, the parts arrived. He was able to come out the next day. He first turned off power to our oven and tested out the control panel. That seemed to do the trick. He thoroughly tested out our oven, preheating it to 400 degrees, to make sure it was working before he left. The total bill came to $451, which included a $350 control panel. We felt it was very reasonable cost given such knowledgeable and reliable service. Overall, we were very impressed by the high level of service we received from Dave and Direct Home and will certainly call them again for future appliance repair needs.

The whole job went even better than I expected. Great service and price.

We had a washing machine that was leaking from the bottom. Initially it was a small leak but eventually morphed into a larger problem. Once I took off the panels and took a look, I realized that it was above my pay grade. I called Direct Home Appliance Service and they offered to come same day but that did not work in our schedule so they came out the next day. Dave arrived within the time frame that was set and quickly diagnosed the problem and was very knowledgeable of the washer AND dryer models we had. There was no service work performed as it was determined to be cost prohibitive to repair. Dave was on time and professional.

They were pretty good and they were reasonable. I've used them more than once. They will come out the same day if I call really early in the morning, which is really great. They are a small company. It is two guys that work out of their house. The main guy is really good. I called around and they were very reasonable. I have given their name to many people. They come right away when I need them and they are fast.

I came home from work to a high ringing pitch noised coming from our side-by-side KitchenAid frig. I noticed the over temperature indicator light was on and pressed the button to clear it.. Both the main frig and freezer sides felt cool, so thought it might have been an error. I unplugged the frig and plugged it back in and heard the fan running. Easy fix, so I thought. Several hours later the over temperature ringing and light indicator came back on. This time the main frig compartment felt cool but the freezer side was warmer than normal and the ice in the icebox looked to be melting. I am the type of person who likes to dig around the internet for self-repairs because I hate paying outrageous prices for simple fixes to common problems. I looked up online how to run a diagnostic test on and noticed when it cycled to the compressor, I didn't hear any noise. I was able to narrow it down to a couple of options: coils were too dirty, relay switch was bad, or the worse thing a frig owner can hear, the compressor is dead. I pulled the frig out from the wall and removed the service panel. Dog hair everywhere. Just purchased house and previous owner had a large dog. I cleaned the coils but compressor still didn't kick on. I heard clicking noise every so often but the compressor wasn't running. At that point I didn't have the proper equipment to test whether the relay switch was working or not, didn't want to keep our food in coolers for very long, and didn't have to time for a self fix, so I looked on Angie's List for reputable appliance repairs and narrowed it down to a two business to call in the morning based on A ratings and positive reviews. When morning came, I called the first person, no answer, so left a message. I then called Direct Home Appliance Service, and Mary (their scheduler), picked up immediately and asked what I needed done. She asked a few questions and then said she could have Dave at my house between 1-3, SAME DAY SERVICE! Perfect! One can appreciate same day service and having someone take your call instead of having to leave messages and play phone ta. Dave arrived within the scheduled time frame, with his tools in hand. I escorted him to the frig that I had pulled from the wall and had the service panel removed. Before I even began telling him the problem history, he was already on the floor inspecting the major components. At this point, I gave him the cliffs notes version. Within a matter of seconds he said, one of two things--relay switch or compressor. He said the switch is $45 and about 30 min in labor; he recommended to start there, so I agreed. He quickly went to his truck to grab the part and then began the repair. Bam, repair made, frig was working, nothing flat. Afterwards, he took the time to explain why the part failed and how it prevented the compressor from starting. He informed me of the difference in the part he was installing and why it wouldn't fail like the previous one did. He also took the time to inform me of how to care for the frig going forward. Very professional, very knowledgeable, and very quick. Since I had him there I said we have a different issue with our oven which was making a terrible noise. He examined the problem, and within seconds said that's your cooling fan/blower making that noise. Stated the fan might work for a long time like that but couldn't say for sure. Since my wife hated the noise, I figured I'd have it fixed too, so asked for a part price and estimated labor. He made a brief call to verify the price. He said he could tack this repair onto the this service trip, saving me an extra $69 even though he had to go pick up the part tomorrow morning and come back then to install. Next morning he came back, with the same hustle in his step and made the repair. Excellent, excellent service!!! I give them my full recommendation and will use them for any future repairs. I couldn't ask for a better service call from start to finish. Dave knows his stuff and works quickly to get you back up and running.

Dave arrived on time and got right to work. He identified the problem right away and after a few minutes was able to confirm that his hunch was correct. He wasn't at all put off by my hovering around (I was trying to be helpful) and worked at a steady pace. At one point he thought he would need to leave and come back the next day with a different part. I asked if he wanted me to pay him half or all of the cost before he left and he said no, he didn't want me to pay until the job was done. It turned out that he had the part in his truck so the job did get completed all in one visit.

Everything went well. Jon is very reliable, very knowledgeable, and does great work. He has done several repairs for me in the past, and I wouldn't call anyone else.
