I did a short term and long term test over the past year and received high results after each test. The day I received the long term test results I called 3-5 companies from Angie's List on a Friday. The only one to answer was Walt at Advanced Radon Services, and I'm sure glad he did. He came out the next day, a Saturday, to give me a run down on how the mitigation system works and what I can expect in an older home like mine. He answered all my questions and was able to give me a quote a couple days later. After meeting with him I didn't even bother reaching out to anyone else. His crew was out 2 weeks later to install the system and they did a great job. I was home that day doing other work around the house and they were great guys who worked hard and didn't mind answering any question I had. They ended up having to install two pipes to get proper suction and the end result was great. The first word that comes to mind when thinking of the work is clean. They left the house looking great and radon levels are nearly zero after 2 weeks of use. This is the only review I've left on here and would recommend these guys to anyone facing a radon problem.

This company was amazing to work with from start to finish! I got estimates from three different companies and Advanced Radon Services was the only company that actually came out to my house for the estimate (other two were over the phone and an online questionnaire). ARS was not the cheapest quote I received, but I was perfectly okay with that. I had a good feeling from the start and knew I was in good hands after meeting Walt during the estimate. He is extremely knowledgable about radon and mitigation, was able to answer any question I had (being a nervous first time homeowner, I had A LOT of questions!), and was very confident and reassuring about reducing radon levels in my home. He is professional, friendly, and remained very patient with me! I really appreciated that. He even gave me guidance about handling an ongoing water/moisture problem I have in my basement. On installation day, I met his crew and they gave me a full explanation of everything they would be doing to help reduce radon levels. Walt and his crew did a great job installing my system (it looks as good as a giant pipe coming out of the back of your house can look!), they sealed cracks in the cement basement floor, and they even opened up a boarded up crawl space in the back of my basement to see if it was relevant to my mitigation process. There was absolutely no mess left behind. The post-mitigation test came back low enough It was a pleasure working with this company! I do not think anyone could have done a better job. We would highly recommend Advanced Radon Services to anyone! We never heard back from either of the other two A-rated radon services we contacted from Angie's List. But even if we had, we still would've selected ARS. Walt and his team -- 2 sets of brothers -- simply provide great service. We especially appreciated Walt's open communication style and exceptional professionalism. The system was installed within the time estimated, the inspection by the city was swiftly approved a week later, and the radon level was reduced to 1.5pCi/L. The cost is worth it. We're very happy customers.

Walt and his crew were extremely professional. They got everything done in one day and the design and performance exceeded my expectations. The radon levels decreased from 6.5pCi/L to less than 0.3pCi/L. They left my house clean and my crawl space looks great, and can be used for storage.

They installed a radon mitigation system that reduced our radon levels to less than 1/2 of the radon level considered to be low risk. They were extremely careful not to make a mess. the owner followed up to make sure the job was done correctly.

This company was excellent and especially the owner, Walt. He came out to our home on several occasions to make sure we understood the process and was also in attendance on the day of the installation. He has stayed in contact to make sure our radon measurements were satisfactory.

We evaluated multiple companies and, while Advanced Radon Services was not the least expensive, they were by far the most thorough and detailed. Walt does a great job of explaining what they plan to do, why and any potential pit falls. His crew then executes his plan. Without question, Walt is the BEST service provider I have had the pleasure of working with. I have remodeled a couple of homes and built a home from the ground up, so I have worked with dozens of contractors of all varieties. Walt is the best, and I would use him again in a heartbeat if I ever needed a radon mitigation system installed. My house initially tested with a radon level at about 8.0. It is a split-level and there are bedrooms on the lower floor, so after confirming the radon levels with another test, we decided to proceed with the installation. Walt came out for an initial consultation, walked me through his process and explained the factors that might influence how the system was installed in my house. Walt is clearly an expert in all things radon, and explained everything in a very clear and comprehensive manner. On installation day, Walt showed up with his crew to get started. They found a way to route the pipe inside a wall cavity so it would not be exposed at all, which I very much appreciated. Walt's crew was extremely professional, they were great communicators, and did a great job with installation and cleanup. The subcontracted electricians were also very professional, prompt, and provided great service. Total installation time was about 6 hours. One of the things Walt mentioned during our first consultation was that, due to some unique construction features on my house, we might have to go with a bigger fan in the attic to get the necessary level of radon reduction. I performed a post-mitigation radon test, and found that levels were not quite where Walt wanted them. I contacted him, and within a week his crew was back out and installed a larger fan. The second test came in exactly where we wanted it to be. Overall the unit works very well and is virtually silent - it is in an attic above my bedroom, so noise could have been a problem but it is not at all. All the work, including upgrading to a larger fan unit, was included in his initial estimate. His pricing is on par with other service providers, but I feel that his service is far superior. And his honesty and integrity cannot be beat. A+

Walt Fitzmaurice and his team provided some of the best customer service we've ever experienced. When we first contacted his team regarding the project, he came to our home and provided a thorough, understandable picture of what he recommended we do. After we chose to have Advanced Radon Services perform the work, Walt sent us a courtesy reminder email about a week before the scheduled appointment, explaining what time his team would arrive, how long the work would take, and what we should expect afterwards. His team arrived right on time the day of our appointment, were easy to work with, and debriefed everything with us after the work was done. That same evening Walt sent us a follow-up email summarizing what the team had done, and provided guidance about what we needed to do over time to test the system and ensure it remained in good working order. The electrical contractor they hired to install the exterior vent fan was great, and used conduit on the outside of the house to connect the fan to the interior electrical box (which Walt?s team had recommended). The City inspector who later looked at the electrical work was impressed by this, as he had sometimes seen electrical contractors who simply install an exterior electrical socket and plug the fan into the socket, and the fan cord would degrade over time as it remained exposed to the elements (compared to the conduit which doesn?t have that problem). In summary, Walt?s team is one of the best service providers we?ve ever worked with? exceptionally communicative, very knowledgeable, with effective results and a great value. Thank you!

Advanced Radon Service was not the lowest bid, but the quality of their work was worth it. We have a 1950's rambler with a radon level of 6.2. The crew initially installed two suction points, with a drop in the radon level to 2.2. Advanced Radon Service guaranteed that the radon level would drop below 2.0, so they were out in less than a week to try a larger fan. Unfortunately, even with the larger fan the radon level was still high. A third suction point was added and now the radon level is 0.6. I'm very happy and impressed with the work done by Walt, Ben, Sam, and Mike. They stood by their guarantee and made sure we had a working system, as well as taking the time to route the pipes so they are virtually hidden. They left our basement cleaner than when they started. Outstanding work, I highly recommend Advanced Radon Services.

This was the MOST professional contractor I have dealt with in 30 years; on time, professional, accurate, clean, patient, etc. I'll give them a very well deserved AAAAA+++++ rating and a personal recommendation. Overall; we had 5 different radon services provide estimates, and this work was about ~~$100 more than all of the others. However, they were the only contractors who: 1. Noticed that we needed to seal under the basement bathtub. They included this work; this was a huge radon source 2. Noticed our in-floor forced air system and the need to seal these 12 vents. This was included in their costs. 3. Installed the radon system into the drain tile system, not just into the cover of the sump pump. Nobody else offered to do this, and I'm sure this was harder to do, and also a lot more effective. 4. Installed a system to monitor the operation of the system. No one else offered this small but useful feature. 5. Provided fire caps for the garage/attic pipe going thru the drywall. The overall installation is very nice to look at; professional. The fan is so quiet you wouldn't know it was there. Very, very pleased with the service.

Our experience with Advanced Radon Services was great from start to finish. Walt was very professional and thorough in explaining to us the scope of the work. He wrote us a clear and firm bid and was very professional and responsive to work with in setting a date for the work. On the day of the work, workers showed up on time, went over the job with my husband, and were extremely professional, efficient and courteous in getting the work done in the amount of time they said it would take. Radon levels in our home have been reduced to outside levels. We are extremely happy with the whole experience and would definitely recommend Walt and his company.

Walt came out about a year ago to give an estimate. He was very thorough in explaining the options and being thoughtful about how to best configure the system, but not pushy about trying to make a sale. The details he mentioned made him stand out above the other companies I received estimates from. Since my level was just above the EPA recommendation, I decided to wait and test again before deciding on action. 10 months later, my levels were up to 5.5. I contacted Walt and he honored the original bid and told me what to expect. He and his crew showed up right on schedule and spent a lot of time planning, thinking and testing to ensure the system they installed would be most effective. After the tests, they knew they would be successful and moved forward with the install. The crew was extremely pleasant and careful not to make a mess, all while minimizing impact to the space the piping would be located. They worked carefully and never seemed like they were rushing to get on to something else. They sealed the sump basket lid, sealed some areas along the wall that could allow radon in, and also recommended testing under the basement bathtub to make sure that was sealed up since often times the cement is busted out to allow room for the drain...and they were right. A small access was created in the wall and that area was sealed up to improve the functioning of the sub slab depressurization system. A nice looking access cover was installed and I now have access to the plumbing if I need it as a bonus. After they taught me about monitoring the system and making sure I didn't have any more questions, they left me a test kit so I could check the results. After a 7 day test, I sent in the kit and was extremely pleased to have a 0.7 result...essentially the level in outside air. This was exactly what they predicted my result would be after doing their testing prior to the install. I'm glad I'll never have to wonder if I should have done this home improvement. Not fun money to spend, but I am sure glad who I chose to spend it with since they did a great job. Walt and his team are the best!

We had an excellent experience with Advanced Radon Services. Walt came out to our house (right on time), assessed the situation, presented me with several options and his recommendation, and then gave me a very reasonable quote on the spot for the work that I decided I wanted done. He spent plenty of time educating me on radon mitigation systems, and was very thorough in explaining exactly what work would be done. He followed up the following night with an e-mail that recapped everything we had talked about. Mike was the installer. He showed up right on time, was very friendly and did the work exactly as Walt explained. The quality of his work was top notch, he cleaned up well, and he finished the job in five hours (Walt told me to block out seven hours just to be safe). The radon level in our basement was 5.9 pCi/L (too high) and the radon level in our first floor family room was 2.0 pCi/L (okay, but could be better). The radon level in all three levels of our house is now <.3 pCi/L (comparable to being outdoors). Great result!I If you're in the market for a radon mitigation system I would definitely recommend talking with Walt and getting a quote.

Walt and his crew installed a radon reduction system in our basement, through the garage to the roof. He was careful to find a way to install in an area where there is minimal impact for view or access. His crew was polite and extremely clean. We highly recommend Walt's company.

We chose Walt for our Radon mitigation system installation because he spotted issues that no other Radon mitigation contractor mentioned (we had a basement shower drain that needed to be sealed and he advised us to ensure proper sealing of some drain tile work that we were having done by another basement contractor prior to Walt's services). We are using electronic Radon monitors; previously, we had a level of 12.5 pCi/L in our basement near a dirt floor crawlspace. After encapsulation of the crawlsapce and the installation of the radon mitigation system, our levels initially dropped to 2.5 pCi/L in the same location. However, we have noticed that the level has continued to drop to about a .9 pCi/L currently. In our basement bedrooms, we had previously measured Radon levels of 5.5 pCi/L to 8.5 pCi/L. The post mitigation levels are consistently below an .8 pCi/L. We obtained bids from 5 or 6 different Radon mitigation contractors. Walt was not the cheapest bid, nor was he the most expensive. However, as I already stated, Walt caught issues other mitigation contractors didn't mention. Walt also spent a good amount of time with me in his initial visit to our home and during our initial telephone call. So, while Walt wasn't the cheapest bid, I am confident that he provided the best value by far.

It went very well and they were outstanding. The owner did everything that he said he was going to do and his employees were knowledgeable, pleasant, efficient and clean.
