Details has over 43 full time cleaners on staff and they are not paid minimum wage. The federal minimum wage is $7.25, our cleaners get paid between $10.50 and $14.00 per hour depending on their experience and position on the team. Our teams are also offered health care and they all get a weeks paid vacation. If you can find another cleaning company that offers their staff these benefits, you should still hire us because we are better. :)

When you call and setup a onetime cleaning, we take very detailed notes and send them to our customers prior to the cleaning. The goal is to make sure we are all on the same page and the final results will be exactly what our customer expected. Below, we have listed the notes for this particular cleaning so you can get an idea of the front end process we go through. Thanks again for taking the time time to submit this great report. We will clean over 13,000 home this year, so it is always nice to hear when we do a good job. It was the first time many pieces of furniture had been dusted in quite some time. It was very orderly and organized. Very clean, especially the bathrooms. We are have very busy careers and two young children (plus two pets) and this took a lot of stress away to come home to a very clean home.
Description of Work: It was a first time cleaning with the Angie's List coupon. We had our kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms cleaned. This was a house cleaning as opposed to carpet cleaning.

To qualify as a recurring customer we have to clean your on a weekly, biweekly or every four week rotation. Once a customer is setup on a rotation, their cleanings will happen every week, every two weeks or every four weeks on the same day. The great thing about being a recurring customer is you will get discounted pricing on our carpet cleaning and window cleaning. Details Home Services is the largest home cleaning company in the Twin Cites and we cover the entire Metro. We are locally owned and operated, and we are not a franchise! On a side note we also give back to our community. So far this year we have donated over 50 cleanings to families in need or that are going though a rough time. When you work with Details, you should also know you could be helping one of your neighbors.

Details Services has cleaned my house, every two weeks, for going on 7 years. The first day they did a "deep cleaning", and I knew they weren't messing around. I haven't had to do another deep cleaning. The place is absolutely spotless, every other week, like clockwork. I love how this service is so seamless. The crew comes during the day when we're gone. We come home and have a beautifully cleaned home. The handful of times I have had to interact with the crew or the office, they are always super friendly and accommodating to my schedule and my needs. The crew is presentable, polite and friendly, not weird or shady like other service crews I've worked with. I've started to ask what other services they provide, because I love not having to worry about finding and engaging with other companies. For instance, I've had them clean my carpets and wash my windows. I just email the office and they take care of it. I have just learned that they do interior painting. I know who will be painting my house now that my kids are no longer in the "throw food at on the walls" stage. I'm married. I have two kids. My wife and I work 50 hours a week. The last thing I want to do is clean one room a night, or spend all weekend cleaning the house. With Details doing all the dirty work, I can spend my time at home with my family. Nobody is crabby because the housework isn't getting done.

This was the single most unprofessional experience I've ever had from a contractor in the Twin Cities. I told the scheduler I needed morning cleanings because we preferred to be home during cleanings; he agreed and sent me information, but said he couldn't schedule the first cleaning till a month after I first called. We exchanged several emails and the last one said (I quote) "We can start your biweekly service on Thursday the 23rd of July, moving forward from the 23rd your cleanings will be every two weeks on Thursdays." Naturally I assumed this meant they would be coming to my house on Thursday the 23rd of July and every other Thursday thereafter. Bad assumption; they never showed, and when I called, the guy said they changed their schedule and gave that slot to somebody else so I could have Wednesday afternoons now (when I am not available,) and that I shouldn't mind changing because "all his other customers just give the cleaner a key so they can do it when they're not home anyway." He claims he left me a voicemail about this, but I checked my phone and have no voicemails in my system from his number. I could have spent this month looking for another provider if I knew this one wasn't going to be able to handle the original schedule and didn't care about my stated preferences. What a waste.

Thanks for taking the time to submit this report, however from our perspective this did not transpire in the manner that this member has described. As you can see from our responses to other “negative” reports, when the negative report is a result of “bad” service on our part, we take full responsibility. This member contacted us via a voice message at our office on 7/7/2015 in the PM when our office was closed. The morning of 7/8/2015 we sent the following e-mail: “Hey (name removed), I caught your voicemail yesterday, would there be a good time for me to give you a call today?” We than received the following message from this member: “Yes, any time this morning would be fine!” The voice message we received indicated the member was looking for recurring service in Roseville, so our next response was “Great! I am just looking at potential runs for a scheduling standpoint, would I be able to get your full address so I can find a potential run to propose?” The member then sent us her address so prior to calling her we could look over our schedule and come up with a few options for her service. When we called this member, we went over a few options, however she “needed” a morning spot. At the time of the call we did not have one available to offer her so we said we would send her a date and time and she could confirm. That very same day we sent her the following e-mail, keep in mind this all happened on 7/8/2015. “We looked over our schedule and we can start your Bi-weekly service on Thursday the 23rd of July, moving forward from the 23rd your cleanings will be every two weeks on Thursdays. Please Read the attached document it is an overview of this service and outlines our policies for this service. If you have any questions please let us know. We can give you a call if need be!” On the phone conversation on 7/8/2015 we told her we would send her a start date and to let us know if that would work for her. After 7/8/2015 we never heard back from her via e-mail or a phone call, so we called her twice the week of 7/13/2015, once on 7/14/2015 and we did not leave her a voice message. We called again on 7/16/15 and left her a voice message to call us back and confirm that the 23rd would work. The main reason we called her back was because we had her on our schedule for the 23rd, however since she never confirmed and we had another customer that would take the spot we reached out to her before we gave that recurring spot to another customer. Had she not confirmed and we showed up to her home on 7/23/2015 she could have turned our team away (This has happened in the past) saying she never confirmed the service, we never even had access information so how would we get in? This has happened too many times to us in the past, that is why if a customer does not confirm the date we sent them or confirm that they have received the policy document we send them, we do not just show up at their home. After never hearing back from this customer we just gave the spot to another customer that wanted that spot in our rotation. This customer finally called us back the morning of 7/23/2015 asking when the cleaners would be arriving. We explained to her that since she never confirmed the date we gave that spot to another customer. We told her we left her a voice message, but she claims she never received it. We love recurring customers that is what our business is built on. It costs us about $350.00 in adverting costs to land a new recurring customer, so if someone says they would like to sign up, we will do whatever it takes to get them a spot in our rotation. Keep in mind, this report is not the result of a bad cleaning (we are a cleaning company), it is the result of trying to communicate via e-mail and over the phone and it did not work this time. We are sorry we never received a confirmation from this customer, we would have loved to have them as a customer, however we do not feel this report is warranted based on how this acutely transpired. For the record, we told this member we could fit her in on 7/24/2015, however she turned it down because it was not a morning spot.

The service was fine. They came out like a week later after I purchased the Big Deal and I did not pay any additional cost to the $169 Big Deal. The service was pretty standard. They used wet cleaning solution.

I scheduled a one-time deep clean of our new house before we moved in. When making the initial arrangements, I was able to request a certain number of man hours and list the tasks in order of my preference. This way, I was in control of what was being done and how much to spend. The scheduling and customer service were excellent, and the cleaning crew did an amazing job. I would definitely hire them again.

The team did a superior job. They were efficiently organized by the team leader after he checked with me on the jobs I wanted done, and in which order of priority. They worked quietly and skillfully, and finished the job well within the time limit, even though I asked for some tasks that would have taken ME much longer to do. They were trying to be very conscientious about things. They used something on my wood floors and I don't have any idea what it was. There was an issue with the scratching on the refrigerator. They came out and fixed that. They came out and rectified that on the refrigerator. Basically, they did a pretty good job. I was kind of curious about the mopping procedure that they used on the floor. That was one thing I was a little concerned about. They were very conscientious about dusting and doing all the things like the basic cleaning. At the end of the time, I had talked to the team about coming back the next week to do a light cleaning but they said that they didn't have time or something. I don't know what the situation was. I think the pricing was fair. They were very responsive. Their punctuality was good. The people that were running the organization were definitely an A. I think it was more difficult for the other people. One of them didn't speak English very well so the communication was a little bit difficult. I would possibly use them in the future.

We moved from our home after sale and wanted it cleaned for the news owners. Details sent 3 employees who were on time, pleasant, efficient. We had to leave the home during the cleaning. When we returned, they had finished, the home was locked properly and the house was fresh and immaculate. Excellent professional team. Very pleased.

This customer pointed out that the floors should be looked at again, so the Team redid them. This is how it should work, prior to our team leaving the home, the owner does a walk through and makes sure we did not miss anything. Remember, unless you are a recurring customer this is the first time we have ever cleaned your home, things can get missed. Our guarantee is simple, if we did not do the job we were hired to do, we will come back and fix it. It is best if it can be caught on site prior to the team leaving.

The technician showed up exactly on time. We did a tour of the house and I told him that I anticipated needing enzyme treatment because of our pets. He told me that it would be $25 if he did it but that was the price for the entire house. He said that he'd assess it as he went and only do it if it was needed because he didn't want to charge me for something if I didn't actually need it. After that, he promptly got to work. He was fast and efficient and left our carpets looking great! I have used at least a half dozen companies to clean my carpets in the past and this is the first/only time that I didn't pay a penny more than the quoted price. I'm still shocked. I normally am quoted a price and then when they get to my house they start adding charges to the tune of a couple hundred dollars extra, which is very frustrating. Since we received our first report on Angie’s List back in 2006, we have noticed a change in how people have been reporting on their experience working with not only our company, but with other companies that are listed on Angie’s List. In the beginning, members seemed to provide reports that talked about the service they were provided and how things turned out. Sometimes things went well and other times not so well. As a service provider you have to except when you do not do a good job and be happy when you do. Regardless, you should always take responsibility for the results. Now it seems that people are jumping online within minutes and posting reports if they do not get called back as fast as they would like to have been or if they want to share their “opinion” on something that has nothing to do with the service that was or was not provided. My name is Mike Newcome and when I started Details in 2006, I had one van and did all the cleaning myself. Today we run 16 teams daily, not including our carpet cleaning team and window cleaning team, and employ over 40 full-time people. As the owner I have always taken full responsibility when things did not go well. See the reports listed below, for example. If something was our fault, I admitted fault and apologized to the customer. Since day one we have always asked for feedback and responded to it as soon as possible. We tell all our customers the only way we can fix a problem is if we know there is one. The true test of a company is how they handle the problem and if you were happy with how they handled it. When you start something from scratch and spend every waking hour thinking about it and trying to improve it, it’s like getting slugged in the gut when you see a bad report, especially when it has nothing to do with the service you provide! All I ask is, before you jump online and blast a company, allow them the opportunity to fix the problem/issue, and if they do not, please just state the facts as they happened. Behind every report is a company, and most of the small companies like ours are owned and operated by a local person…a person that most likely has not taken a vacation in nine years and would do everything they possibly could to fix any issue. Their price is fair and they are punctual. They score low in Quality and Professionalism and Responsiveness due to the following reasons: Low quality: Repeated cleaning quality problem even after I have written a "special cleaning instructions" and send them the copy to be included in their system. I have included pictures of trim / carpet with visible dog hair. They have involved "Operational Manager" and "Quality Manager" and assured me that the requirement has been documented internally and will not happen again. Next month cleaning...happened again. May 2015 cleaning - Visible dog hair on trim and carpet (see attached pic below) Special cleaning instruction communicated to clean dog hair after May 2015 cleaning (see attached pic below) June 2015 cleaning - Visible dog hair on trim and carpet (same spot, see attached pics) June 2015 cleaning - Notes from cleaners stating that it has been deep cleaned. (see attached pic) Low responsiveness and professionalism I have requested them to send me an invoice without me prompting after each cleaning. They cannot comply to this request. The owner's response to my request was "We do not have an automated system to send out invoices after each service. If you'd like an invoice after each service you will have to send us a request. We have over 540 full-time recurring customers and a few do request invoices but they just send a reminder and we happily send it out." With all due respect, since they have a system that allows them to bill / charge their customer every time after the service is rendered, the system should also send the customer an invoice. That's common business practice. In addition, their system never fails to send me a reminder email each time BEFORE the service is rendered. It would appear to me that their system should be capable to remind their own staff to send an invoice to the respective customer AFTER the service. Automatic or not, sending an invoice w/o a customer prompting is a reasonable request, one that they have confirmed their system can't do. I would also like to add that I received the response above from the owner after I have called and asked one of their representatives to send me an invoice. This, along w/ the repeating unsatisfactory cleaning result, I discontinued my scheduled cleaning services immediately.

Thanks for taking the time to submit this report. Details Home Services has over 540 fulltime recurring customers, and every so often we get a customer that we just can’t make happy. We love feedback and ask for it, feedback makes us better. After every cleaning this customer would send us a list of items (with pictures sometimes) that were missed on that day’s cleaning. We would contact the customer the same day, apologize and schedule a follow-up cleaning and then go over the feedback with the Team. This happened numerous times and we just kept going back and trying to make them happy. For the record, the team that cleaned there home is responsible for more “A” reports on Angie’s list than any other team we operate so we could not figure out what was going on in this home. At the end of the day we were never going to make this customer happy even though we did everything we possibly could. If you read the message they included in their report, you can get a sense of what type of customer they were. Most of the other messages they sent to us were downright rude. When you start off a sentence saying “with all due respect” we all know what that means. Our response was very straight forward and professional. The accounting system we use does not have the ability to send out automated invoices, if it did we would use that feature. On the other hand, the contact management/scheduling system that we had built for our business does send out automated reminders to all of our customers prior to their scheduled cleanings. These two systems are completely separate and not linked together. Some of our customers do require and invoice after their recurring cleaning service for one reason or another, and as we stated we happily send those out when requested just like we did for this customer. Just so you understand the time line for this report, here it is. Last evening around 8:00 am on 6/2/2015 we received the request for the invoice that we already sent them earlier that day. I respond (from bed, and yes I’m the owner they referred to) letting them know that is not an automated system but we would happily send it to them upon request like we have done in the past. Today is 8:00 am on 6/3/2015 so that means they jumped on the computer last evening prior to allowing us to respond to their “with all due respect” message and posted this report. 1. they arrived on time at 8:30 am 2. did a walk through of the home (approx. 2600sq) and went over all that I wanted done and what areas needed special attention. 3. by 8:45am they work both working and they continued to work nonstop till 2pm. I offered to go out to buy them some lunch but they respectfully declined and said we will just keep working. 4. they were professional, respectful and courteous. 5. they were 2 of the hardest workers that I have ever seen. 6. all my expectations were met and some were exceeded, especially the bathroom/shower areas. 7. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the services that I was provided. I would use them again in a heartbeat, no questions asked. I highly recommend them/this company without reservation. 8. when they were nearly finished a supervisor came to the home and asked me questions about the quality of the work, was I satisfied, any problems, etc. pretty impressive form of quality control in my opinion. 9. so would I use them again; YES. would I recommend them to friends and family; YES. Do I have anything negative to say about my experience with this company and specifically these two individuals; ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
Description of Work: selling a home. after doing some remodeling the floors and woodwork were pretty dirty. 3 bathrooms also needed quite a bit of work. the 2 ladies who did the cleaning (edilia and Judith) were exceptional!
