Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal. They replaced the rollers on our garage door and oiled the the bar on the garage door opener and the tracks. They also performed an overall check on the garage door and the opener. They were prompt, professional, and did an excellent job.

Description of Work: The technician arrived about 30 minutes beyond the two hour window of time I was given. I couldn't see exactly what he was doing with the garage door, but he said something broke and it looked like it would be a bigger job than originally estimated. I said I couldn't afford any more. After a while he said it looked like it would be OK. I felt uncomfortable about that-thinking perhaps he was trying to take advantage of an elderly single woman. In the end, everything was fine and I paid the amount that was agreed upon. The door works just fine now.

Description of Work: Work was completed at 942 421/2 st in Columbia heights.Tech was on time very professional and helpful.There were unplanned expenses for things that were broken and he explained the extra charges and i was given the choice of fix or not. he made sure the door was fixed properly and I was very happy with the work. I would not hesitate to use them again .Thanks

Description of Work: I purchased the $ 99 deal for reconditioning and roller replacement for my garage door. Before this service could even be perforned, springs on my garage door broke leaving it hanging on an angle, unable to be opened or closed. I called A1 since I already had purchased the coupon and they came out within a day and a half to repair the door and do the coupon general maintenance work. They were respectful of my time since I had another commitment in p.m. of day the work was done, very professional and completed all the work in about 45 minutes. I would recommend them.

Description of Work: The service was as advertised. Additional rollers were necessary because of the larger door (an additional 88$).

Description of Work: The repairman checked the system & found as I suspected one badly frayed cable on the garage door; I had a new r/p cable which he installed; also, oiled & checked the other cable, tightened bolts & adjusted the up & down movement of the door. Nicely done 7/10. Marvin Ceynar

Description of Work: They fixed my garage door. It wasn't closing properly and they fixed some of the I beams on the bottom.

Description of Work: I do not recommend due to terrible customer service. They came and replaced rollers and a section of the track. They said it would make the door less noisy and that it would roll better. We haven't noticed any change in noise nor rolling from before the tune up was done. They also adjusted the tension and said that if it was too sensitive, we could call and have them adjust it. Our door has had intermittent issues since they did this 'tune up' that it never had before - opening on its own and/or not shutting completely. This turned into a consistent problem, wherein the door would get almost all the way to the floor, but then would go up again. We swept the area numerous times, moved things away that were near the sensors, and swept the tracks. We looked for items on the floor and on nearby shelves that may be interfering, but the issue continued. I called and explained the problem and requested a service visit. The person I spoke with did not listen to me, stating that it was the owner’s responsibility to move things away from the sensors and suggesting other things that I needed to check and stating that there would be a charge for them to come out. Most of the suggestions were things we had already done, which I had to repeat that we had already done, and the other repair ideas were things that I didn't know how to do. If I DID know how to do them I wouldn't have called for help. He also questioned whether it was the work that they had done that had caused the problem. I had to repeat that this issue started happening after they did the work. Before that, we had no problems with the garage door. He seemed reluctant to come out and investigate, asking whether I wanted to try to fix it on my own before they came out. When I mentioned that I would call someone else if they didn't want to come, he snapped at me that they had an obligation to come out then slammed the phone down presumably to get the appointment book. In scheduling the service call, he was more interested in his schedule than mine. He stated they could come in the afternoon and when I requested a morning appointment, he replied that a window of 10:00 - 4:00 was the best they could do. Perhaps realizing that I was ready to call someone else - anyone else about this, he found that a 2-hour morning timeslot was available. Ultimately, I did call someone else and canceled the service appointment. We won’t be doing business with A1 Accurate Garage Door Company again. Description of Work: I used a Angie's List deal and got a tune up and external keypad installed.

Description of Work: This was a discounted price through Angies List for replacing rollers on our two garage doors. After it was completed we discussed pricing on doing some other needed work on the doors. They were on time and did a good job. Will probably use them to do the other work.

Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal from Angie's List for garage door maint for $99.00 for "reconditioning plus replacement of garage door rollers." Service person came on specified day and time. He had had a very busy day and was confused about which customer on his list he was currently calling on. We have two doors and he recommended that rollers be changed on the smaller door because it was squeeking, he wanted to adjust springs and lube the other door for $25.00 extra. That was fine, the price was reasonable. Then he stated the Big Deal calls for 10 rollers and we needed 12. The extra charge was only $2.50/ea for the 2 extra rollers. No problem, price was still reasonable. However, I had not read anything about 10 or 12 rollers in the Big Deal contract. It just stated "rollers." I shared this with the service person and he he disagreed. I wasn't going to argue with him about the $5.00 charge, the total cost was still acceptable to me. The service call accomplished what was expected, but I did not feel confidence in the service person. He had had a bad day, and perhaps I was the last customer on his list. I will not call on this company again.

Description of Work: This was a Big Deal. I had to schedule out at least a month due to my schedule and theirs. Very responsive, punctual. Kevin did the work and was professional and informative. He checked out my garage door and greased a bunch of rollers and told me what to look for in the next 5+ years. This was a preventative/maintenance job and I'm happy to have done it.

Description of Work: Garage doors wouldn't open, the car was stuck in the garage. Both springs were broken. Technician came within 2 hours of my call.
