Turf Dawgs helped us reclaim a large portion of our back yard that we'd given up on and given over to 3 foot tall weeds and random perennials run amok. They removed everything and trimmed many of the perimeter plantings and trees while they were here. They applied weed control and put down pine bark nuggets to finish it up. We now have a lot more usable space which the kids are enjoying immensely. In the front yard they also applied weed control to our previously neglected shrub beds, reshaped some of the mulched areas and applied fresh pine bark nuggets. While discussing the project, Jeff provided some great information about how we can easily maintain the weed-free spaces in the years to come. I used to shudder every time I looked into the back yard. It was the triple whammy of looking terrible, not being usable, and a very visual reminder of another To Do List item that wasn't getting done. Now we love our "new" low-maintenance back yard.

Never returned my phone call

I contacted Jeff via email. He responded almost immediately. He came out the next day and emailed me an estimate at that time. The service was started the following week. Considering that the mowing/trimming is for approximately 5 acres, his prices are unbelievably reasonable. He and his crew do an excellent job. They show up like clockwork every week, and if there is going to be a delay, Jeff keeps you advised. I recommended him to a friend who now also uses his services. I couldn't be happier. This is one great company.

I made arrangements via email as I was out of town and wanted the yard to be cleaned up and ready to go when I arrived home. Jeff went by the house and emailed me an estimate, did the work on time and as agreed upon. Great experience, will use again.

It went well, aside from a "mystery" bone that turned up in the new topsoil they put down. I asked them to remove the bone before they put down the sod and they did. Now 8 months later the new sod looks great. You can't tell there was a giant crater where the diseased elm tree used to be.

Promised scedule was followed,work completed on time, new sod grew wonderfully.

I called Jeff for an estimate, he came that same afternoon. I was expecting to pay almost double what Jeff charged me for all the work I wanted done. They arrived exactly when they said they would, Jeff walked me through exactly what they would do and approx how long it would take them and he was on the money give or take 5 minutes. They took away all the scrub from the lawn adn shrubs, gave the lawn a first cut and raking. I was amazed at how professional and efficient they were. I was so impressed with Jeff and his company I have hired them to do my weekly mowing (Turf Dawgs was 5 bucks per week cheaper that they guy I used to have do it) and I have contracted with them to do my snow removal this winter.

They are very prompt, detail-oriented, and tidy. Their service was very inexpensive.

Jeff responds promptly to phone calls and arrives when scheduled. The work is done professionally and thoroughly. It is also very pleasant dealing with Jeff, the owner of the business.

They did a great job. They were professional, quick, friendly and smart and I would use them again.

Jeff does my regular fall cleanup (and my lawn and my snow). This year, because my house is being painted, there was a large amount of brush and "miles" of vines to be removed and cleared out of the way of the painters. I let Jeff know there would be extra work and he planned accordingly and hauled everything away. He and his guys also had to work around the painters and the ladders. Fortunately, the painters are from Shelton Painting (another Angie's List superstar) and they managed the disruption gracefully. When I gave Jeff the heads-up about this, I added that I knew he would have to charge me more than the usual fall clean-up price. It was worth it. No more vines, no more sticks, no more leaves. My experiences with Jeff always include him taking extra steps that I really appreciate.

I called Jeff from Turf Dawg and he came that same afternoon to give me an estimate. He told me that he could so the work on the following Tuesday. When I told him that I that another contractor was coming out to work on Monday but that I would change that date, he immediately offered to come on Sunday afternoon. He and another worker came and did the job quickly with no fuss. They hauled everything away, even the stuff I thought I would have to do. It was a great experience.

They do a great job. They're fast. The move things instead of mowing around them. (They have to pick up my 75' garden hose every week) I haven't had any issues but if I did, I know Jeff Hurst (owner) would be immediately responsive.

The bidding process went well, they answered all my questions. At the end of the day, I decided to go with a more economical option and declined their services.

Last summer I hired Turf Dawgs to replace some sod. Even before that work was completed, I was impressed enough with Jeff to discuss having him do all my fall cleanup, snow removal, spring cleanup, and next summer's mowing. The fall cleanup is done and they did a terrific job. I have my best-looking November yard and garden ever. I wasn't home at the time the work was done but a neighbor reported on the friendliness of the crew. Turf Dawgs also removes the leaves from the property, something a previous company did not do. Jeff Hurst will have my business for a very long time.

He was here when he said they'd be here and the job was done professionally. Jeff is also a really nice guy. I'm impressed with this company and plan to use them as a cleanup, snow, and mowing service for the next year.

They are efficient and did a good job. The owner, his brother and two helpers did all of the work. They recycled what they removed. They cleaned up after themselves and were on time. They did excellent work.
