Description of Work: We were very happy with the repair work done on the outside of our home: deck power washing, plugging holes in our foundation, and repairing damage to wood trim in multiple places.

Description of Work: I had talked with Mr Dunn twice before he came out. Our #1 need was to take care of 2 bath exhaust fans in a recently purchased home. One fan was broken and the other was not exhausting through the roof. Since getting on the roof was paramount, we were trying to get the work done before the snow came. It was November. We had a number of other things we added to the "to do" list, so there would be enough work to make the trip worthwhile for Mr. Dunn. | |After Mr. Dunn arrived I again enumerated what needed to be done. He and his coworker started on the other projects. When I mentioned the priority about the bath fans and that the rest was stuff that could be done at another visit, he told me he did not have a ladder that would be high enough for him to access the one story roof and that the step ladder we had wasn't tall enough. I was surprised that he didn't have a ladder with him on his truck. I again mentioned the fact that the bath fans were a priority and had been all along. Sometime later he handed over one of the fan inserts that he had unplugged from the fan housing and told me to order a new part and we could just plug it in when we received the part. He told me the second fan was fixed and was now exhausting through the roof. He also told me that it had a screen over it to keep critters and such from gaining access. The housing inspector had noted there was no screen. Mr. Dunn told us it now had a screen. We where pleased that he had fixed that. | |We tried to order the part that we were given. We were told the fan was 34 years old and that parts were not available for it. We were told that we would have to install a new fan which we thought should have happened in the first place. As for the second fan, it was not fixed. There was still no screen over the outlet and it was still not exhausting to the outside. This was noted by an engineer who was up on the roof checking for water problems about 2 weeks later. | |We were not happy with the outcome on the fans. We did not call Mr. Dunn back to resolve the problem because that would necessitate hiring someone to go up on the roof again to be sure that the work was indeed done. We are in our 70's and can't go up on the roof ourselves. | |The other work that was done was done well. We just wish that Mr. Dunn had told us ahead of time that maybe the fan issues were outside of his experience, and we could have hired someone else. We did make it clear that the fans were a priority, since neither bath has a window and neither had a working fan. | |We hadn't intended to write a review, but received this request from the Angie's list Member care manager.

Description of Work: Nicely Dunn fit a storm window I had made at my local hardware store. My home was built in 1921 and replacement hardware could not be found, so Nicely Dunn removed the existing hardware from the old rotted storm window, fixed it, and put it on my newly built storm window. They did a nice job. My window is sealed nicely this winter. No drafts. :-)

Description of Work: Repaired garage damage. Very nice job.

Description of Work: Installed baseboards and crown molding. At initial meeting, gave me different ideas for the baseboards that I hadn't previously thought of using. He worked steadily, cleaned up thoroughly, and the finished product looks nice.

Description of Work: Took down a wall, replaced carpet squares, had to reroute cabling, built a column to contain wiring from ceiling to the floor, did it over a weekend to eliminate interference with people working. Did a great job.

Description of Work: Replaced a mailbox & post. Work was a bit tricky due to cable tv lines running very near the post hole. Good work, with excellent attention to detail.

Description of Work: Replaced an old handrail along the basement steps so it's up to code. Replaced back door handle (owner of house had an extra handle). They worked efficiently, work done within maybe 2 hours. Very nice, professional people.

Description of Work: Many repairs, installed 7 blinds, pull cords on light bulbs, lock on back door, gate that came loose from hinge, smoke detectors installed, fixed two holes in a built-in book case, took down one chandelier, and installed a different one.

Description of Work: Adjusted doors and cabinets; hung shutters. Definitely recommend.

Description of Work: Had 2.5 hours of work done, they put a closet shelf/rod up, corrected a bathroom closet door that was off the hinges and put together a treadmill. Very nice, professional, timely and good work.

Description of Work: They took 2 weeks to contact us for an estimate. Did not return several emails and the cost of the estimate was huge.

Description of Work: They shaved and rehung a sticking door, installed a light fixture in the ceiling, put together bookcases, rehung a cupboard door that had broken, fixed a siding door that was stuck. They were polite, punctual, very skilled, extremely helpful.

Description of Work: This is the second time I have used this service to hang some pictures. One picture was in a difficult location above a stairwell with limited access. They did a great job. Very professional.
