It went well overall. He gave me an estimate of all the things I should do to keep the mice out. To do everything he recommended it was going to cost over $2000.00. I was real upset about that as I did not have the money to proceed further. I decided to see if the poison would resolve the problem. He did not comment either way when I informed him I would not have any further services performed at that time. I felt he should have been more forthcoming in informing me if the bait boxes would do a good job of eradicating the mice without having further expense that day. He did not pressure me in any way to have the extra services performed, fortunately. Also, after the exterminator left I started worrying that my 2 dogs might get into the poison. He knew I had the dogs as they greeted him enthusiastically upon his arrival. He never explained if these bait boxes were safe for my dogs. I did not think to question him about this before he left as I was upset about the cost of further service if it became necessary. I surveyed the perimeter of the house with the dogs in tow. They did not show any interest in the boxes of poison, so I just closely monitored them for several days. So, now 5 weeks later there has has not been any incidents of the dogs getting the bait. I plan to call Wildlife Management Services at the end of December to have them refill the bait boxes as they have been very effective. I would also like to get 2 more of the bait boxes to put around the garage as the mice have gone wild in there also. I have an outside cat that I feed in the garage. The mice went crazy this summer stealing the cat food and hiding it in the tool bags and the shelves out in the garage. If the exterminator had been forthcoming with me regarding how effective the bait boxes would be without the extra services being performed and educated me about the safety of my 2 dogs with the poison bait boxes on the ground I would have given an excellent 5 star rating. But due to those 2 neglected areas, I will only rate them as good or 4 stars.
Description of Work: I had a bad infestation of mice. The exterminator was punctual in arriving. He explained what he was going to do. He went into the basement first, as that was where the worst problem was. There were 4 major areas in the basement that I had been having trouble with mice. I never saw the mice, but I did see the huge mess they left. There were mouse droppings inside a sofa sleeper couch, on the floor and shelves of the storage areas and inside a small cupboard that covered the gas meter. He looked at all the areas I showed him in the basement. . Then he went outside to inspect the house for areas the mice might be coming in. He then placed 4 square flat boxes of poison on the ground around the foundation of the home. He chose the areas he thought would be most beneficial. He informed me the poison bait would need to be refilled every 3 months.

It went wonderfully. He arrived when scheduled and did a walk around the house and pointed are areas that we needed to look at in the spring. He was thorough and very observant. He also listened carefully to our concerns and offered us a plan for the year. Then, he went into house and evaluated every inch of the house. He then did a one-time spaying of all the nooks and crannies. We have not seen any bugs since. We would definitely call them again.
Description of Work: Wildlife management was wonderful. They were quick to respond, arrived when scheduled and did a very thorough walk through of our home. The made recommnedations for pest control for the year. They did an evaluation of the exterior and interior of the house. They also provided one-time service to exterminate bugs in the house.

I contacted Wildlife Management because I heard scratching in the interior walls of my second story bedrooms. Andy, the Wildlife Management technician, came to my home, completed a thorough exterior inspection and provided a detailed estimate of recommendations/repairs. I chose two line items that I thought would do the most good since I could not afford to complete everything. There was no hard sell for me to do more which I appreciated. The technician concluded that squirrels were entering my roof through the roof vents but, before sealing them, we would need to be sure there were no squirrels nesting in the house at the time. Live traps were set over the course of a week or so and we nabbed several. He then installed screening so no further entry was possible. He also sealed and/or screened gaps in the foundation and siding. I've had no issues with any scratching or critters in my home since Wildlife Management completed their work. They also send out an informative monthly newsletter to their customers that I find to be an interesting read.

The technician arrived on time. He said he would start outside, which was about the entire conversation that we had. After on hour, he knocked on the door again and left me with an estimate for $1500 in order to resolve our mouse issue. I had to ask him to show me what he had actually done during the time he was here. He showed me some areas where the mice may have been entering the house. He then showed me the four bait stations that he installed around the outside of our house. He then left in a hurry as he was running late for his next appointment. As you can imagine, not only did this experience leave me with little to no piece of mind (about 99% of why one would call an exterminator), if anything, it added a great deal of agitation in having been given absolutely zero customer service. I had to call into the office to have the technician follow up with me, during which time he assured me that bait stations placed around the outside of the house should resolve the issue, even though the mice were already inside. I asked him specifically what the chances were of finding dead mice in the house, as my wife was very fearful of this. The technician said the probability of seeing any dead mice was extremely low. Of course, a few days later we found a couple of dead mice lying in the middle of our basement. Please let me whole heartedly recommend ANYONE else to resolve your issue. The one bright side of this ordeal that you can benefit from is that I called and talked with Midwest Pest shortly after this experience. He was extremely helpful and talked with me for at least 25 min about what was actually reasonable to repair in the inspection report, and told me how to do it myself. If anything, he discouraged me from hiring anyone else to resolve the issue, including himself. If we still have an issue in the future, Midwest Pest is the first company I will be calling.
Description of Work: We discovered mouse droppings on the kitchen counter; which was the last straw. This was the only company that was able to take our call on a weekend to have someone at our house Monday morning. In retrospect, we should have waited until Monday to find someone better (even though Angie's list reviews were decent).

These guys are pros. There were very responsive and quick to come to the house and go over the mice issues we were having. Once we approved the quote, they were out the next day and started the sealing process around our house. We were very satisfied and it was our first time using any kind of pest control service.

Matt came out first for inspection. He was professional and thorough. He explained where the mice and bats were coming in and what he would do to remediate. I received an inspection sheet listing all areas inspected, the verdict and what would need to be done to remediate and the price for each thing. I called later with further questions and Matt thoroughly answered them all. Then I hired him to deal with the bats and to put poison in my attic knee walls for mice. Wildlife Management Services will come back out in the spring to check back on bat door and seal up and treat the area for parasites.

Two men came to inspect the entire house and attic for bat activity, and gave us an estimate for the work. They returned and installed bat exit doors, then sealed all around the eaves and any cracks or openings into the attic. After 3 weeks, they returned to remove the bat exits and sealed those openings. They covered a bathroom fan vent on the outside of the house to prevent any bat entry in the future. A parasite treatment for the attic was available, but I didn't use it.

Squirrels were getting into my attic. Wildlife Management came out, found where they were getting in and set a live trap near where they were entering. WM came back every day and captured 2 squirrels, which they took and released miles from my house. Once they were sure no more squirrels were using the hole, they patched it up. I would definitely use them again.

All the mice died and we haven't seen a mouse since. We had not been able to get rid of them ourselves, though we had tried various things. They did come back to check the traps, and replenish the poison after 3 months for another $149, and they recommend that they come back quarterly at $149 each visit. It was more expensive than we anticipated, but well worth it.
Description of Work: They went around the house, inside and out, identified places where mice could get in, placed poison in the rafters in the basement and in the attic and in traps outside. We paid someone else to come and block off the places they identified mice could come in. (Wildlife Management would have done that, but our handyman did it for less money. Wildlife Management had no problem with us having someone else fill in the places where mice could get in).

They come out every year and the price depends on what they do and it also depends if it is a warranty issue or not. I've referred people to them. The first time they came out because our attic was infested with bats. I went through the yellow pages, called a number of different providers and they were the only ones that would get rid of the bats without killing them. I have no idea how their price is compared because I didn't check anybody else.
