CHAMPION GARAGE DOORS

Hired Champion for the $40 tune up service. While here, they showed us the wear on the rollers and we verified that they were disintegrating - cheap plastic parts that couldn't handle the weight of our 16' insulated door after two years. We had them replace all 10 rollers with a higher quality product for $10 each, including tax and installation. While I am perfectly capable of doing it myself, the higher quality new rollers alone would cost me $5 (plus tax) each at Home Depot or Lowe's. I just wasn't willing to wrestle with that do or for less than $5 per roller. My door is again smooth and quiet. This is a company I will use e very year to keep my door lubricated and balanced. They were professional and personable.

Our garage door is only a year old, but kept falling off the track and was really loud. He lubed the joints, fixed the tension, and showed my husband how to do the basic maintenance to keep it in good working order.

This went just fine. Nice representative; very punctual, and professional. Before he left, he showed me where to lubricate door and how often to extend the life of door. The price of $40 was great.

Isanti county was included in service area and still is according to their advertisement, but they canceled saying they did not service my area. Still need some service, but will find it on my own. Some how missed your email on other provider. Not blaming anyone just lack of communication on my part. Thank you for your attention. Patrick

Arrived on time and was fast and efficient.

They did thorough job of inspecting the garage door and explained what they found. We had them install new rollers and a rubber liner on the door bottom. I would definitely use them again.

Joel was great. He was on time and very professional. He answered all of my questions and explained what was causing the issues. He tested the door at every step to make certain it was working smoothly and would not give me additional trouble.

I brought a $39 Garage Door Tune-Up from Angie's list for my rental unit. It includes 21-point safety inspection, lubricating all moving parts on door and opener, balancing door for proper weight and tightening hinges and making minor adjustments. Joel Cross came out to the rental unit on Friday. He did no repair and unplugged the opener, closed the garage door and put a notice not to operate the door due to the very unsafe and poor condition of the current door. He did all that without telling me. Over the phone, he just told me that I should replace the door so I ask him to send me a quote thinking that they always wanted to upsell. My tenants called me and told me that he disabled the door and now they couldn't use the garage door. They were upset as they agreed there was nothing wrong with the door which just missed couple rollers but it operates fine. Later on Sunday, Joel sent me the quote of installing a new door and indicated he has to disable the garage due to safety. I called him on Monday and asked him where he got the authority to do that. I never authorized him to disable the door. I asked him if we can just repair it and he said yes. I requested him to send me the quote of repair. The quote came in at 450 dollars. I called another garage repair company on angie's list. They charged $49 trip charge. They replaced the cables and all the rollers, adjusted everything and charged me $160 total including the trip charge. I do not like Champion Garage Doors how they handle this repair. All they want is to upsell something I don't need. Their quote for repair cost is almost 3x of their competitors too. I will never use Champion Garage Doors and I will not advise anyone to do that either.

Our garage door was difficult to open and close (we do not have a garage door opener). The evaluation by Champion revealed a sub-par spring, plastic inexpensive rollers, and an incorrect installation. Champion replaced the spring with a higher quality one, replaced the rollers with nylon rollers, and reset the track to eliminate the binding. Workers were knowledgeable and patient with our questions. Overall, very personable and good to work with.

The technician was very nice, punctual, and articulate. He balanced the door just as I would think it should be (it was out of balance before he came, and I asked him to do that specifically). He also said we needed some rollers replaced. I'm not sure about that because I was not home and did not see the old rollers. However, the reason I probably would not use this company again is that the door is as noisy as it was before the service. In that past the services (from a different company) have usually made the door operate more quietly. I wonder if this technician did not lubricate the screw drive, which can work wonders with quieting a door. So our $39 coupon door tuneup turned into a $150 service that did not succeed as well as previous services.

Provided with honest answers about existing garage door. Gave an estimate and time for us to make a decision without any added pressure. In the end, we purchased and had a new garage door installed. This company and their representative(s) were polite, on time and provided a no pressure sale which we appreciated. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!

They came out and they did a very nice job. They didn’t upcharge us for anything additional. Our garage door was making banging and grinding and they determined that some of the panels were squished too tightly together. They took the extra effort to separate the panels and give them some more wiggle room. I’m very happy with their service. The only complaint I have is that the sticker they put next to the door frame took some paint off the wall when I took it off. We’re fine with having some method of referring to them in the future, but we would prefer that they don’t place stickers on painted walls. Maybe a magnet or business card? Or they could give us the sticker to place where we'd like.

It was a good package. The guy came out. He cut a little too short and was going to come back. He did come back the next day. He was pleasant.

Good. I did not realize my excessive garage door noise was due to a broken spring and a loose header for the opener track. I thought the price for each element in addition to the tuneup was reasonable for the labor and Internet Research I was saved, had I figured out the problem on my own.

It went well. They did have to do some additional repair work that was an extra cost.

He oiled and checked the door, the rollers, and the garage door opener. He talked about additional things he could do like replacing the rollers, but was not pushy. At my request he replaced the seal on the bottom of the door for additional charge.. He was on time, personable, and willing to explain things about the garage door.

Well done, on time, provided estimate and ordered parts. Would use again for further garage door needs.

Spent around 30 minutes on site performing multiple inspection adjustment points on double garage door. Then spent another 15 minutes going over what he did, answering questions, and providing valuable insight on future maintenance and things I might think of replacing in a timely fashion (no pressure sales at all). Would highly recommend this service if you are looking to get a garage door tune-up.

I called the company the same day they responded to my request (a Thursday), and we set up an appointment for the following Tuesday from 2-4 pm. On Tuesday at 2 pm, I went out and did yard work while waiting for the Champion representative to arrive. By 3:30, he still wasn't there, so I went inside to call. I discovered that he had left 2 brief messages after 2 pm saying I needed me to call him. I called, and he stated he wasn't going to drive over to our suburb unless he was able to contact me on the way. He was in another part of the metro and could not get to me that day. No apologies. I had kept my end of the appointment, but he did not.
