Description of Work: This company was ultra responsive and punctual and they did an excellent job of removing ice dams from my home. While they were up front about the hourly cost ($450/hour) they tried to change the price to $475/hour when it came time to pay up (the tech accepted the $450/hour price, however). When the tech arrived he did make clear that the job would be at least an 8 hour experience or more. The tech worked from 10am to 6pm and left after dark - it was my decision to stop and not finish the job at that point. I definitely have buyers remorse, however, due to the extreme cost. In the future I will find ways to prevent the ice dams from forming in the first place, including clearing out gutters in the fall, installing a gutter cover that allows water to flow but prevents debris from accumulating, raking the snow off of the lower two feet of all roof edges, and for any lingering ice dams I would use socks stuffed with rock salt to create the channels necessary for water to flow correctly. This company could have had my business in perpetuity had they been more reasonable say on the order of $150/hour.

Description of Work: They steamed ice from 15 feet of roof. The worker was alone and the company had said 2 or more would come. He spent more then 2/3 of his time trying to get steam machine to work but I was charged for all his time.

Description of Work: They responsed quickly to the phone call for services. The price quoted was the final price of the work. Please note, while very good this firm does not steam ice dams they removed the snow from the roof and chipped the ice down to a level that it could melt without backing indoors. There was no apparent damage to the roof.

Hi {member name removed}, I think there is a misunderstanding. To the best of my knowledge Twin Cities Ice Dam Removal did not perform any services at your residence. Please give me a call when you get a chance. I think this review was intended for a different company and I would like to get this resolved. Description of Work: They were quick to respond, (kind of the nature of that business). I expected to pay a bit but they were overly vague in their estimate and came out on the high end. They started on the side of the house that was that wasn't of immediate need and ended on the side we called them about, (felt a little like this was a set-up so we couldn't stop them short or after X number of hours). This may be how every ice dam removal place is, but I could have had a better experience.

The job was performed efficiently and correctly. They were prompt and professional.
Description of Work: Our house had significant ice dams on the gutters and roof edge. I called them they responded to my call in 40 minutes, came the next day and worked for two hours plus. They efficiently removed the ice dams with steam and shoveled the roof. The phone estimate was 400 less than the other company I called. The job was well done and I would recommend them to anyone.

Our Best find for our worst fear. We love our home. We love the skylight that provides sunshine during winter months. Until the end of Jan 2014. My husband & I arrived home to find our front door covered in ice that had dripped downand once inside our home we found our lovely skylight was leaking. Did I mention that it was at midnight? Panic sets in. I immediately go to a search on my computer for 24 hr emergency serviceice d*** removal. I start calling several companies. Then, what was I thinking? I remembered my Angie’s List. First company I saw was Twin Cities Ice Dam Removal. 24-hour service. I called immediately. Here’s the great part. I got a call back immediately from the head of the company, no less. He was patient and informative. He educated me on the thingsI should know about as I search for different bids. He explained his license, which he has had for years and his sky-high insurance coverage for the job. His crew showed up right on schedule. They were polite, professional and got right to it.They did an excellent job and we are grateful and thrilled to have prevented further damage. We were given an estimation of the time it would take to complete the job that was accurate. The workers who showed up were knowledgeable, efficient and clean! GREAT company Great job!!!

I just bought a house last summer and found that it was poorly insulated. As a result, huge ice dam built up in valley's and on the edges of my roof. As I explored the damaging effect ice dam's can have on a roof/home, I paniced a bit and decided to call a couple contractors to price removal out. It was very expensive but they did do a good job removing the dam's. My only regret is having had the dam's removed in the 1st place. I'm still not sure that it was really necessary. I raked the edge of the roof fro the rest of the winter and have since had my insulation added up to R-49. In the end, TCIDR did what I asked them to, but if I had to choose again, I would have waited for the sun to do the job come spring and spent the $800 on something else. Live and learn.

They were professional, friendly. But my boyfriend had to go up and chisel some ice chunks out of the gutters (while they were still there working on the other part of the house). I told him to let them know since he was paying so much to have this service provided that they weren't completely providing.

They are very quick. This is one of the companies that you call and they're right there. They are excellent. Their price was reasonable. We used them twice for two different houses and they were excellent both the times.
