I called AAA Anderson to inquire about duct cleaning and pricing available. Although I left a voicemail, my call was returned within minutes and they were able to schedule me the same week for service. I was asked questions about my home, its size, its age, how recently I've had the ducts cleaned, and whether I have any lifestyle habits (pets, smoking) that they should be aware of to ensure that they clean the ducts with the utmost efficiency. When I gave her the square footage of my house, she quoted me an even lower price than I was originally told. I was given a 4-hour window (between 1-5PM) for service on the appointment date and was told I would be called when the owner was within 30 minutes of arriving. On the date of service, I was called around Noon by the owner, who said he was running early. He asked if I was available for him to come around 12:30PM, which was no problem for me because I work at home. He arrived promptly and was very polite. He and his helper were very understanding of my need to corral 3 cats prior to them beginning service. They worked around me and my cats with us only shifting rooms once to accomodate the cleaning. The entire process took 30-45 minutes and upon completion, the owner explained what he encountered in the ducts: lots of sheet rock dust and construction debris from the home being built 10 years ago and, not suprisingly, a lot of cat fur and dander. I was shocked to hear this because I had a different company clean the ducts less than 2 years after the house was built. He was shocked to hear that because there was still so much builder debris left behind. The price was exactly what I was quoted on the phone. I was very happy with their service and I will definitely hire them in the future.

Overall, the services were performed as promised. AAA Anderson's showed up on time and did a nice job cleaning our ducts. I have never had the ducts cleaned before, but since we bought a foreclosure, I thought it made sense to make sure the ducts were clean. I decided it was well worth it when they found a bunch of dead mice in one of the vents! The team was curtious and respectful of our home. We also used AAA Anderson's for a chimney sweep earlier this Fall and had a positive experience with that as well.

I was very happy with their customer service. She was very courteous and professional on the phone. The duct cleaning was completed on time and as expected. I was VERY disappointed with them bending EVERY single one of my cold air return vents because they didn't remove them. Had I known they were not going to remove them and just stick their air hose down to blow air without removing them I would have taken the 5 minutes to remove them myself before leaving for work that day. That just seems very lazy to me and the vents would need to be replaced to be fixed.

Very well. I can tell that the air quality in my house is better. They also showed me how to turn off the heat upstairs, which I greatly appreciated since it gets really hot up there. Nice people - good service.

I had AAA Anderson clean the dryer vent duct in my home, which is of a very complex and convoluted design. Scheduling was easy, the people were friendly and knowledgeable, they arrived on time, and the price was what we agreed to on the phone. They not only cleaned my dryer vent, they were able to reroute the duct and eliminate a connector that was a trap for lint, while more securely attaching the components together with a special heat-sensitive tape they had for that specific purpose. I was very impressed with the service performed on my dryer duct, and will definitely have AAA Anderson back in my home the next time it needs cleaning.

Great experience with the Andersons from first to last. Husband and wife team was courteous on the phone, showed up exactly for the appointment, and didn't try to sell extras or upgraded cleaning. Explained exactly what they were going to do and why, and then did it all very efficiently in about an hour (our house is a 1900-square-foot split level). They even took extra care to make sure that our cats didn't get out of the house while the doors had to be left partly open for the vacuum hose! As he finished cleaning the furnace, John suggested a change in the way my furnace sends air around the house, and he was obviously right--our downstairs rooms used to be much colder than the rest, and today those rooms were comfortable. This is the kind of company I joined Angie's List to find.

On 10/16/2010, I purchased a discount fire place chimney cleaning package from Angies List to clean my fire place chimney for a special member price of $99.00. On 10/27/2010 two young men from AAA Anerson's Appliance Repair/Furnace Duct Cleaning showed up to clean my fire place chimney. They told me they clean the fire place chimneys from the bottom up and not from the top down. I thought that was odd because, in the past, I have cleaned it myself from the top down. On Saturday evening, Oct/30/2010 I lite a fire in the fire place and my wife and I were going to sit back and enjoy the fire in the fire place and watch a movie. After about 30 minutes, we hear a loud roaring sound coming from the fire place. I ran out side and saw about a 3 to 4 foot fire flame coming out of the fire place chimney. We called the fire department and they arrived promptly. They quickly put out the fire, but not before a lot damage was done. Before they arrived, I dowsed the fire out in the fire place with a bucket of water and a large flume of smoke and ashes shot back in to room creating a huge mess. Also, before the fire department arrived, I got on the roof and was shooting water on the chimney to keep the flames coming out of the chimeny down to keep fire from speading and doing more roof and house damage. An insurance adjuster from my insurance company did an inspection of the fire place chimeny after the fire and determined that the two young men from AAA Anderson had pushed the cresote up the chimney and partically blocked the chimney and they did not clean the whole chimney. With that partial blockage and our fire in the fire place, the cresote caught on fire. The result of AAA Anderson shoddy workmanship resulted in need for over $12,000 of repair work and a claim has been made to my insurance company. If my insurance company does not recover those cost's from AAA Anderson, my house insurance premium will go up dramatically for a long time. Because I purchased this service from Angies List, I feel Angies List needs to assist my insurance company (State Farm) to recover the $12,000+ so that my insurance premiums will not go up. I am also very disappointed that Angies List would contract with AAA Andrson and run a special member price for services from AAA Anerson Appliance Repair/Furnace & Duct Cleaning. I really question your process of qualifying contractors for member special priceing. Please advise of your interest to assist in this matter. Jim Losleben

They gave us a discount for being a repeat customer and I think they charge fair rates. They were very prompt and professional. They were personable, they did what they said they would do, they did a thorough job, and they explained what they were doing.

From other reviews, I had thought the owners, John and Kim would be doing the work. They did not which was a disappointment. The two men that came(John and Jason) were fine, but when I discussed the systems (there are three furnaces for this tri level house) and thermostats, they did not seem to know which one controlled which furnace. At one point one of them thought the security control box was a thermostat. Their explanation of which system heated which floor did not match up with what was written on the furnaces nor what my experience with them had been. (This was a newly purchased house so I was not sure myself.) And while I thought that the ducts on two levels would be cleaned, only one floor was cleaned. I questioned this and that lead into the discussion of what furnace heated what floor. I was told John (the son) would discuss with John his father to see if the work was done properly and called if not, but asked how could the father know that if he wasn't there to see the systems himself. I was never called back. After they left, I noticed black marks along the recently cleaned carpets where the hose was dragged to the furnace. Perhaps things were done properly, but I did have the feeling that my large house with three furnaces may have been outside John's experience and that cleaning the ducts on only one floor was inadequate.

Overall, it seemed to have gone very well. This turned out to be a false assumption. I went down to the furnace after they left and happened to check the filter - they had installed my new filter. I was shocked to discover a filthy filter. It was completely covered with dirt from the cold air return. The filter was unusable and I had to change it, even though it had been brand new. This filter had large bunches of dirt, and dirt down in the crevasses - it was totally compromised. If I hadn't happened to have checked on this I would have been running my furnace with this useless filter. I immediately called AAA and talked with Kim, she said that they should have run the furnace with the old filter in to collect "residual" dirt. She did agree to provide me with a new filter. I am rating the quality as a "D" because I view leaving things in this state as a serious issue - which had the potential to damage my furnace had I not checked the filter.

Excellent. The technician did a very complete cleaning of both the woodstove and dryer vent. Both were very dirty. Technician was very professional.

Finished quickly. Very friendly crew. After the initial cleaning, I started to question how the job was done. My tri-level house has two separate heat and return runs for the different levels I called AAA and they immediately agreed to come back that same day to answer all my questions and to do the job over if it was not done to my satisfaction. They came the same day, I believe the owners, and responded to all of my concerns and happily redid the job to assure me it was done correctly. Very thorough job. Very knowledgeable. Courteous and friendly. Answered all my questions about the job and some of my general heating questions ? even tuned one of the heat runs to better distribute heat. They provided an excellent customer experience. I rated the price as a "B", due to lack of knowledge, but really do not have any comparison - the did give me a discount

My initial call was answered promptly and the appointment was set up on the same call. This is their busy season and they were able to accommodate my preferred time frame for the service. They arrived on time, were very professional and did a thorough job. I would use their services again.

I called and set up an appointment and took advantage of a special Angie's List offer to clean ducts and chimney. I was given a 4-hr time frame, and they arrived a little early, which was fine because I said I was flexible and would be working at home all day. Matt and Jason performed the work. They were very efficient, friendly, and cleaned up afterward. When I went downstairs after they left, I noticed that Jason changed my furnace filter (had a spare nearby) without even having to ask -- pretty nice touch. Having recently moved into my house, and knowing that the previous owners had not maintained it well, it was a relief to get this done and have some questions answered about the condition of the fireplace and furnace. Jason and Matt were very knowledgeable and personable. The job went smoothly, and I'm very pleased with the outcome.

John was very professional, from calling before arrival through to his cleaning up after his work. He explained what he was going to do, showed me the equipment, and went back to re-look at the problem area to see if he could come up with a better solution. He was polite, honest, and did solve the problem. I would definitely call him again for additional services.

Great. I called the day of, they came out within 2 hours in the morning to look at the furnace. When it was determined what part was broken, they offered me the option of getting it fixed. They said they could get the part there in a few hours and the charge would be for that labor at the time. I had coverage with another company, so I decided to wait until it could be fixed for free (Xcel Energy's Homesmart plan) He explained the whole process while I was there, telling me he could test each step of the furnace's process to locate the problem. He said things need to happen in a certain order, or the furnace won't run. A pretty interesting design. I declined any further repairs, but he was very, very nice. I really appreciated the extra information on my furnace.

Very professional and quick. When they came to estimate the return vent, they adjusted the vents and said I should try it that way for awhile because I may not need the return vent.

Used the Big Deal coupon, so worth $150 more. Service arrived 15 minutes late due to traffic. They cleaned the air ducts, recognized dryer had a clog and gave 30% off for cleaning that. Were expeditious, courteous, and professional.
