The appointment scheduling was easy, they were flexible, I received a call before arrival (as promised) and follow-up after the inspection. My refrigerator needed a repair as my icemaker wasn't working properly. John identified the problem tried to fix on the spot but needed to order a part. I was promised a call back with the cost etc of the part which I received in short order. I'm looking forward to having John install the part. Kim and John are a great team. I would highly recommend their work.

They came on time , explained what and how they were going to do- before they did it. They were efficient and friendly. They showed us the extent of dust/debris in our duct work before they cleaned it. He also explained some things about our furnace/duct work that we were not aware of. We prev had problems heating and cooling a couple of bedrooms on the 2nd floor because they were at the end of the line. With the vent adjustments he made, we could really feel the air pushing into those 2 rooms! They advised us to get a new furnace filter before they came and they put on the new one before they left. He showed us how to remove the cover of the attached humidifier and discovered that filter badly needed replacing also. Our refrigerator motor was making a lot of noise and he took a look at that also. He wrote the model number down in case we need to call him regarding that as they do appliance repair also. We are very pleased with them and would use them again.

They did a good job. I don't think their system of using air pressure to push the dust down to the central duct works as well as the older system which is vaccuuming it, but a lot of companies have changed to the new way. They were honest and professional.

We do use a vacuum on every job I'm not sure what this member is thinking but this method of cleaning has been used since 1950. We do have roto-brushes and air brushes to force dirt to the vacuum in the furnace trunk line. These air tools are new and do a very thorough job. Thanks for your comments though John and Kim.

Duct cleanings went fine. Took many tries to get the right fridge door handle but they persisted in exploring all sources to get the part. John also was cost-consciuos went procuring the part. Kim phoned often with updates and let me know as soon as she knew of changes. The team at AAA Anderson's are very polite and it was my experience that they were very willing to work for the "right" outcome and not what was easiest for them or the minimum to satisfy the customer.
Description of Work: What started out as a "simple" duct and dryer cleaning turned into an appliance repair that took two months to complete. When I realized that AAA also did appliance repair, I had them also look at my dishwasher and fridge. The dishwasher was examined with no glaring problems and the fridge handle needed to be ordered. It took forever to get the correct part but everyone involved kept me informed of what was goign on.

Kim and John were very friendly, made sure our cats weren't too traumatized from the noise of the cleaning, and removed easily 20+ years (they found a candy bar wrapper circa 1990s) of build-up out of our ducts. We recently purchased the home (almost 2 years ago) and so we knew based on our furnace services that the ducts were going to be a serious mess. I'd say the amount of debris removed proved to us they did a thorough cleaning. I noticed after they had finished the air between the rooms was so much clearer (no more dust haze) -- Would definitely do business again, thanks!

The appointment was easily scheduled and the technician arrived punctually. However, the service was a disaster necessitating an emergency call to Excel Energy after the carbon monoxidie monitor in my home sounded an alarm and my son, who was at home to let the service technician in while I was at work, frantically opened windows and doors, advised the house cleaning team to leave immediately and tried to locate the source of the problem. An Excel Energy representative subsequently found carbon monoxide readings as high as 55. All pilot lights had been extinguished. My son is still feeling quite ill. Needless to say, after this experience I wouldl not trust this firm again.

We sorry this happened, are cleaning equipment is gas powered engines. Are techs parked in front of the garage and with the wind direction as such it carried exhaust into the garage for example if you warm up your vehicle to close to the garage you will get the same result. The level of carbon monoxide at 55 ppm is a small amount and not enough to do harm to any human. We wish her son would of called us to address this problem we could have solved the problem with a lot less pain and suffering for example the house cleaning crew did not need to evacuate the home. And there are no pilot lights that needed to be re lit as the gas fired furnace has a automatic pilot. Over all we feel sorry for what happened.

The workers used the same small diameter air wand and blew into the flexible outside air ducting from the air exchanger. I questioned the effectiveness of this method since it is about a 15' run with a 45 degree turn in it. They assured me that the high pressure wand would do it (common sense told me that it may be high pressure but there was not much volume coming out of that tiny wand to push dirt and debris all through the duct and outside my home) They blew some air in both ducts that lead outside and said it was done. (where did the dirt go? I find it later back in the air exchanger) With the interior unit done they proceeded outside to inspect the exterior vents. Since there was new snow below the fresh air intake vent, (This vent is lower to the ground) I could see that it was still pristine white and nothing had been blown out of the duct from the air exchanger when they used the wand from the inside. These vents have a large diameter screen on them which does not inhibit airflow but keeps very large debris/animals out so there should have been some dirt or debris on the snow. The workers seemed to agree that nothing had been blown out of the vent. They said they don't normally use it but they would try another revese blower head on the air hose from the outside to attempt to clean the vent. They could not get this in the vent very far although it did remove some dust. I suggested a soft brush and they said they did not have a tool like that. The intake hood on this duct allows you to look inside and I could see that it was still far from "clean and disinfected"! I am not expecting squeeky clean but I think the dirt and debris sticking to the walls of the duct could be mechanically agitated with a soft brush and removed. The workers seemed to lack the tools and training and equipment to do the job properly. Unless compressed air is a disinfectant, no disinfecting took place at any point in either the air excanger or the ducts. I inspected the air exchanger and discoverd that it was MUCH dirtier that when they arrived. (alot of dirt, and large dirt/lint balls on the filters and in the enclosure) I later remembered one workers comment about good airflow out the exhaust while they were also working on the intake and it dawned on me that they had the exchanger operating while they were attempting to clean the intake duct! The dirt that was previoulsy blown from the inside of the exchanger and the debris dislodged with the air hose on the outside was sucked directly back into the "newly cleaned" air exchanger ! (and my house!) As soon as the crew left I called the owner John of AAA and expressed my displeasure at the job that had been done(at that time I had not even inspected the interior unit yet) He told me he had a brush that could do the job or refund my money, But then continued to argue that the job had been done properly. He seemed to feel that since the Exchanger was "cleaned" that the job was done and I should not expect the ducts to be cleaned. He did not seem to understand that the ducts are what I wanted clean as per the coupon. He was rude and condescending. As John was apologizing a female was in the background making comments that I never should have bought the coupon in the first place etc...this made the ring of the apology a little hollow. At the end of the day I paid $99 to have a compressed air nozzle blow dirt around my air exchange unit and ducting for about ten minutes while they tried to upsell dryer vent, water heater vent and fireplace cleaning. The end result was a filthy air exchange unit I had to clean myself and dirty ducts.
Description of Work: I signed up for the Angies list coupon "Big Deal" it was $99 for Air Exchange Duct Cleaning and disinfecting! The coupon stated that "This service work includes cleaning and disinfecting your HVAC system's air exchanger unit and duct work (up to 6 vents/ducts) plus an inspection that will insure your unit was installed correctly and operating efficiently" I own the same model exchanger that was pictured on the coupon, which shows the same flexible ducting on the unit that my unit has. The AAA Anderson workers showed up on time and were courteous. They entered my home with a small shop vac and an air hose from a compressor that was about 1/2" in diameter with a small diameter blower wand on the end. I showed them the Air exchanger and they proceeded to blow compressed air around the inside of the unit, over the filters and unit core while running the shop vac to capture as much of the dirt as they could. The core was never removed for cleaning as recommended by manufacturer. I keep this portion of the unit clean myself as per the manufacturers instruction to remove the core and filters and wash with warm water. Since I keep these filters clean myself I did not complain about the somewhat ineffective method of blowing the dirt around with compressed air. My main reason for purchasing the coupon was the "duct cleaning and disinfecting" portion of the coupon. The intake duct on the air exchanger can get very dirty since it is bringing in outside air (think dirt, pollen, cotton) and only has a large diameter grid screen on it to keep animals out but allow air to flow properly in. When asked about the duct cleaning I was told that the two ducts leading from the Air Exchanger to the Furnace were not included since they were part of the homes duct work. I did not protest but asked if the two remaining ducts that lead to the outside air intake and exhaust vents would be cleaned and they said they would. (the coupon did say clean up to 6 vents/ducts)

This coupon was not for air duct cleaning. This person had purchased a coupon for Air Exchanger Duct cleaning. This is a system that brings a fresh air feed into home. And is different than furnace air duct cleaning. We clean the air to air handler and the filters for it. We also clean the fresh air feed and the out take air feed and up to 6 air handler vents. When he called us John told him he was sorry we were not able to perform the cleaning to your standards and we will give you a full refund or do a re-clean. After telling the customer we were willing to work with him, he continued to be rude and insulting. John continued to ask questions about the cleaning. The customer said the guys did their job but is still unsatisfied. They did clean the filters and the system, but were unable to remove the stain completely from the fresh air stream duct, but we were able to remove all dust and debris. Cleaning the duct is not going to polish it to a brand new form. Concerning the snow comment, this is a duct that brings in fresh air from outside it does not collect dust like the ducts do that are in the home circulating the air. Its pulls in fresh air from an outside air stream and this is the duct you want most of dust, bugs to be caught at screen located on the outside of home. We did use an air snake and this pushes dust in a reverse fashion and into the vac or air. We would not expect to see dirty snow. Again this is a duct that brings in fresh air from outside it does not collect dust like the ducts do that are in the home circulating the air. Its pulls in fresh air from an outside air stream and this is the duct you want most of dust/ bugs to be caught at screen located on the outside of home. This air is cleaner than the air circulating in the home. He told us this is something he cleans on a regular basis. We were surprised he would purchase the coupon then. Again after letting him know we were willing to work with him he continued to insult us and wanted to continue to argue instead of bringing the conversation to a conclusion. I told John to say goodbye, Because he is not going to be calm, and refuses to understand we were willing to work with him. We understand we can't please everyone. And we apologize this member was so difficult.

The experience was a really good one as newbies to the "owning a fireplace" game, the guys that came out were quick to work but also nice enough to answer my questions about operating the fireplace and maintaining it. Overall it was a great experience the cleanup was impeccable and the service was excellent.
Description of Work: The AAA staff came and cleaned out our standalone fireplace and the flume all the way up to the roof. Because of the nature of our stove, they had to climb on our roof and work in reverse. They also gave us a thorough report of the condition of the entire system and some maintenance advice.

We were noticing lots of dust in our home three years after we moved in, so we had AAA Anderson out to clean our air ducts. They did a great job -- we really noticed a difference in our breathing/stuffiness after a day or so. After reading the other reviews here about the "price break' on dryer vent cleaning once they're on site, we also asked to add on that service. They charged us $40 (instead of $99). We also got the Angie's List discount on the whole bill. Good deal! I had a few phone chats with Kim to schedule the service...and ask a ton of questions. She was very friendly, professional, and helpful. Lucky us -- they had a cancellation for the next day. They called a few hours before our appointment and offered to come even earlier, but we weren't available. We stuck to the original time and they were very prompt and friendly. Part of the high rating I gave them was for all the extra tips they offered: like how to correct our incorrectly-installed furnace humidifier, what kind of furnace filter they recommend (3M), and how we could easily and cheaply replace our dented dryer vent. We felt like they were really trying to lend their experience and help, not just do the job and go. We'd definitely recommend them and use them again.

The technicians arrived early the first day after calling to see if that would be OK. They were over an hour late the second day. I called the company inquiring what was happening. The tech called explaining the hold up and then the owner called telling me the expected time of arrival and offering me a twenty dollar rebate for not meeting the appointment time. I am retired so would be at home even if there were no appointment so I turned down the rebate. The job was well done for the price agreed upon. AAA Anderson will be on the top of my list for any of the kinds of work they perform.
Description of Work: Our washing machine would not drain. The internal trap was full of coins mostly very corroded and ball point pen parts. These finally clogged the drain pump, burning out the motor which was replaced on the second visit the next day.

This was a first-rate experience. It started with my call to schedule an appointment after taking advantage of an Angie's List promotion. This must be a small, family run business, but don't let that bother you - you get family run service. There was apparently no one available to answer the phone when I called and I didn't leave a message. They called me back within a few minutes anyway (obviously caller ID) and we scheduled an appointment. Although they did not expect it, I moved all the furniture away from the ducts and took off the vent covers, which they greatly appreciated. They showed up at the scheduled time and did what appeared to be an excellent job. From what they described they cleaned out of the ducts (dog hair and drywall dust), they cleaned out what I expected. They also had a promotion on for chimney cleaning, but I thought I would wait to see what kind of a job they did on the ducts. Since I was very pleased, I asked them about it, and they told me they had a special on (same as the special on Angies list) and they could do it while they were there, which I didn't expect. However, as he admitted, he is a terrible salesman, and the chimney did not need cleaning. They could have easily made an extra couple hundred bucks off me for work that was not necessary. I give them an extra A+++ for honesty! I will definitely use them again!
