Description of Work: I contacted a competitor about fixing my garage door and they tried to sell me a whole new door. Bouma fixed what I had and installed a new Genie for about 1/3 of the price and it works great. As far as I am concerned, Bouma is the best in Grand Rapids.

Description of Work: Replaced broken garage door spring, adjusted and lubricated door. Lighter weight 16' by 7' garage door with only one spring. Service man appeared very knowledgeable. He replaced the single spring on the left side of center with a single spring on the right side. When I asked why, he said, because the single springs cause pressure to the side on the end rollers. Switching to a spring on the other side helps balance the wear on the roller bearings.

+ -1 moreVery good experience. They temporarily fixed my broken garage door spring while I waited for them to order a replacement part. It took a month or so for them to come back out and replace the spring, but the fix they had made worked fine in the meantime.

Two months after buying a new house, I still hadn't been able to open my garage door, and with winter on the horizon I thought it time to call someone. Bouma came recommended via a friend on Twitter. I called, and they sent someone out the next day to give me an estimate. I was home and so chatted with the guy. He explained why the door couldn't be salvaged and needed to be replaced, but offered me the basic door (the garage isn't attached to the house so doesn't need to be insulated) but let me know there were more expensive doors available. After shopping around online, I found the price quoted (including installation) was about the going rate for the door alone from other providers, so I asked them to do the job. There was a delay of around a week while the door was ordered, but they installed it when they said they would, for the price quoted and I was very happy to come home and see it completed.

Description of Work: They installed a new garage door for me and hooked it up to my existing opener. I purchased a higher end door that was insulated. I used them previously, several years ago for other work.
