After another painter stood me up, I was in a bind. A leak had damaged my kitchen ceiling and although the damage from the leak had been fixed, the ceiling needed to be primed and painted. To add to my dilemma, I needed the job done in a matter of days as my daughter's graduation party is this Saturday. I tried a couple of other painters, but nobody wanted to/was able to come out my house in such a short amount of time for such a small job. Finally, I got a hold of Robert Elmy and explained my problem to him. He was able to work me into his schedule the very next day! Mr. Elmy was polite and professional. He did a fine job for a reasonable price, and called the next day to make sure that my husband and I were pleased with the results. I will definitely call Elmy painting the next time I need any painting done.

Rob & his 2 crew members arrived in the morning & immediately began to set up for the job. I had previously moved all furniture in the middle of the room except for one larger cabinet. That cabinet was moved by 2 crew members in the middle of the room that morning. I remained in my family room during the painting as to stay out of their way & would occasionally check in to see how the job was progressing. Later that afternoon I heard a crash in the living room & then it got quiet among the painters. I never got up to see what it was & just assumed it was a piece of their telescoping equipment that they used to dry the repaired plaster that had fallen & hit the floor. After that I noticed (through my family room window) Rob & his coworker outside in my side yard having a discussion. I thought this a little strange but didn't give it much thought at the time. Afterwards as they were nearing the end of the job & beginning to pack up, I came back into the living room to see that one of the painters was moving the larger cabinet (by himself) back to the wall. I immediately saw damage to the top corner of this cabinet with a chunk taken out of it as if it were hit by something. I voiced my disappointment to this damage when I started to get the "I don't know what happened, it must of been like that" non-accountable attitude which just upset me more & I told him I would just talk to Rob about it (who was outside with his other coworker). After much discussion, Rob asked if I could get the cabinet repaired from where I bought it. Uh no...this is a one of a kind Art Deco expensive cabinet bought from a store that is now out of business. We settled on $100.00 off original price of painting due to damage. Upon paying him, Rob gave me an additional $60 off, so $160.00 off in total price because he did feel bad & I did appreciate the money taken off due to the damage. However, after a quick walk through to look at paint job, while in back hallway I noticed a dark streak (from tan wall color) on the ceiling which I pointed out. Rob called over his coworker who was doing the trim in dining room (with semi-gloss) to fix it. He swiped over it with his paint brush, which I noticed later a swipe over with semi-gloss paint on a flat ceiling...now I have a slick spot on ceiling. Rob also noticed a dark streak from wall paint on the trim & remarked that needed to be fixed....didn't happen. After they left, I did a more thorough walk through inspecting the paint job & spent the next day touching up some spots that were needed...a white streak left on dark tan wall, taking off painter's tape that was left wrapped around a ceiling light fixture & cleaning off some dark paint spots splattered on laundry room floor along with white paint that got on my brick paved front porch from a pop container that had white paint on bottom that was sat on the porch. Also, noticed later more damage to cabinet leg which I hadn't seen before. All in all, average paint job...which I say that because I had to do some touch ups & clean up myself. In hindsight, wished I would of immediately checked out the crash I heard when it happened & now I realize that their discussion in side yard was probably about the damage. Live & learn...if there is ever a next time I will insist on references & to see prove of insurance which I didn't ask for in the beginning....my bad....will just leave it with accepting the money off the total job. Average rated due to touch ups/clean up I did myself, for having to return a call back to confirm appointment when I didn't receive call back & for not accepting responsibility for furniture damage at first. In the end, Rob did try to make it right but it is what it is.

When we purchased our home we needed a few interior rooms repainted. They did such a great job that we hired them to redo the entire exterior of the house. The caulking on the house was awful, they went around the entire house scrapping it all out and re-caulking everything. Instead of just letting it go they made sure all the siding would be water tight for the new paint. They did a great job of painting the house and trim, most of the neighbors thought that we had resided the house it looks so great. They were very detailed about missed spots and lines around the trim. We were in a little bit of a hurry as we were having a party in a few weeks and they worked with our timeframe, showed up everyday and worked in some pretty windy conditions. If you are in need of a painter Rob is the person to call, he will be the only painter I hire.

Rob came out to give an estimate and started work right away. He finished the job as promised and was professional, neat and courteous.

Called right back when I called to get an estimate. Came over and looked at the job and gave me a written estimate at that time. When I decided to do the work it was done on the day I requested. Work was done quickly and looked great. Will hire again.

Robert arrived on time for the estimate & to start the job. We had 3 bedrooms painted different colors and one of the rooms required 3 coats to cover (Pink). Robert started the job on Friday afternoon and when we came back on Sunday afternoon rooms were done and everything was cleaned up. The only sign that he was there were the 3 painted rooms. We will use him again as we continue to remodel our new home.

Rob did a great job. When they arrived we did a quick walk through of the job and they immediately went to work moving furniture, covering things and preparing the rooms. They painted 2 coats on the walls and ceilings. They were very professional while they were in my house. We are very pleased with the job they did and are planning on having them paint our outside trim this spring.

Rob Elmy promptly returned my call requesting an estimate for some interior painting. He arrived on time for the estimate, and his quote was reasonable, fair, and competitive. He was willing to work with our schedule. He and his assistant, Chad, arrived on time every day, and were always professional. Rob did additional repair/patching than we talked about, and we're very happy with the overall job. We would not hesitate to hire him again.

Robert Elmy did a great job painting the bedrooms and bathroom in my home. He was very pleasant and easy to work with but very professional at the same time. He came out to my home to give me an estimate within a day of my initial call to him. I was impressed with his knowledge in the field of painting - he has over 25 years experience. Shortly after looking at the bedrooms and bathroom, he had an estimate for me. It was a very reasonable price and it was less than the other bid I had received from another painter. Robert showed up on the morning of 6/29/12 with another gentleman named Freddie (very nice guy as well) and started painting right away. They both worked all day long and finished later that evening. I was very happy and satisfied with the results. Because I was so satisified with his work, I plan to call Robert to paint my walk-out basement. Don't hesitate to call Robert Elmy, if you are in need of a good, honest and reliable painter.

We were referred to Rob as somebody who could paint a few rooms on relatively short notice, after contacting him confirming his availability and receiving an estimate we arranged the job for a couple of weeks later. He showed up right on time and got to work. The wallpaper removal was a bit more difficult than originally thought, but he was able to handle the job within the original estimate. The results were very good and we would certainly use him again for future work. He and his assistant were very professional and good to deal with.

When our house was being renovated our contractor hired Elmy Painting to do all the work which meant the entire house inside and out. That was 8 years ago and since then we have had Rob back to do various other jobs for us. His price is always reasonable, he works efficiently, is pleasant to have around and is very professional. He really knows his business. We would not use any other painter.
