They returned my call promptly, promised to complete work before a stated date, and followed up on their promise. The supervisor checked on the work performed and made sure we were satisfied. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

They are very professional. They are always on time. They have really great customer service. The owner is outstanding. I have been using them for 15 years.

In the 5 years we've used Total Lawn Care, we've spent between $1,500 --> $5,000/year with Total Lawn Care, depending on the work we've hired them to complete. Will continue to use Total Lawn Care and will continue to recommend their services to family and friends.

Called to schedule fall cleanup without any issues. Came out within a couple weeks, after all leaves had fallen. Cleaned yard, flower beds, cut and trimmed grass.

Bill initially met with us to discuss what we wanted for our front yard makeover. He then provided a proposal of his overall design, plant choices and pricing. It took me some time, but I asked him to come back out again to discuss my revisions, which he did. Bill and his team moved a large area of rocks to our back yard, brought in topsoil and mulch, added a water drain "pop-up" for two downspouts, planted two trees, bushes, and plants. They also installed some simple landscape lighting. Bill was knowledgeable and so much fun to work with, he shared my excitement and interest for the project. Their team worked very hard for us, were polite, professional and kind. Overall, we are very pleased. Their pricing was better than most, we are looking forward to enjoying our new landscaping for several years. Thank you, Total Lawn Care!

He came by and said he would send a team out to check the current grade and make recommendations. No follow up was ever done and the company never sent out a second representative.

I used them for number of years. They were extremely willing workers and will undertake to do anything I ask them. They respond very quickly to a phone call. They were punctual and do not need to be called all the time. The sprinkler system which was difficult, they were good about that too. They were good when I used them.

I would like to update my prior review and ratings of Total Lawn Care. While last year I had some issues and was more critical of the company, the company has made some significant improvements this year. The owner (Pete) has hired a new office manager and they both have worked to make my experiences much better this year. The lawn continues to be cut consistently with a good degree of quality. Pete (or his office manager) have been very responsive to my calls and inquiries this year, and I am satisfied with their service. I appreciate Pete's professionalism and demeanor, and feel he takes a pride in his company and work. I will be continuing with their service.

The quality of work was very good. The scheduling was a little challenging.

Only snowed twice this winter and the first time they only did half and then came back later to finish it. second time it snowed they plowed the main drive, but not the front steps or another drive which was clearly in the contract. after being contacted, the company did agree to work harder to address this issue.

With the first snowfall of 2" they were here and hand shovelled the sidewalk, steps to the house as well as the driveway.

I didn’t go with them. There was nothing that particularly stood out about them. I went with a different contractor because they had a better price.

They're very good. I pay for the year in advance.

They come once every 2 weeks. I pay about $2000 for an entire year and all season service. There was nothing to say good or bad about them, as they were fine. Their quality of work has been fine, too. I will use them in future.

The first treatment went well they called the day before to say they were coming, they came out did both the grub treatment and the fertilization and weed control. They left the invoice of what they did plus watering instructions, which were a little confusing as the grub control said not to water the lawn for several hours but the fertilization said to water the grass. I had expected them to do the aeration on the first visit too. Six weeks passed and they had not been back so we called to find out when they were coming back, they explained rainy weather had delayed them and said they would be out soon. They called a few days later tolet us know they were coming out. This time they did the fertilization and weed control but still no aeration. I cancelled my contract after that treatment. Everyone I dealt with seemed very nice but they just did not seem to have enough time to do a good job and the lawn still had unwanted weeds.

I found Total Lawn Care on Angie's List and noted that they are located close to my property and have an "A" rating with many positive comments. I called on July 1, 2011 and explained to the receptionist that I had found them on Angie's List and that I was looking for someone to mow the grass on property that we own in Troy. I explained that since I live out of the area and currently in the process of renovating the property, I was just looking to have the grass cut and trimming completed, but that I would be looking to do more landscaping in the future. The person answering the phone said that the owner would need to complete an estimate and because I would not be there at the property they would either email or call me with the estimate. After not hearing anything for a week I called Total Lawn Care again on July 7th with the same person I previously spoke with answeing the phone. She was very polite and apologetic and assured me that they still had my request, as well as my contact information. She said that she would put my request on top and would let the owner know that I had called again. She asked if they could leave the estimate in the mail box. Again, I explained that I would not be there to receive the estimate and I requested that they either email or call me with the estimate. She assured me that they would get back to me with the estimate. It's now July 22nd and Total Lawn Care has never called back or emailed. While I can understand that they may be too busy to do the work or perhaps they just didn't want my business, you would think that they could at least be professional enough to call (or email) to let you know that they're not interested. I never call a contractor more than twice and if they don't return my calls, I figure that they've had their chance and I should seek someone who is more reliable. Nothing irritates me more than a contractor who doesn't return calls. With all the positve comments on Angie's List, I expected that my experience with Total Lawn Care would have been more positive.

I've used Total Lawn Care before with good results. Very happy with the results (again). My yard is quite shady and I am always concerned whether the grass will take, but Bill Udell and TLC have been very successful. Sometimes it can be tough to get in touch with Bill, though he does return calls after 1-2 days. Also it would be nice if I were provided with a time/date of when they are coming out, but I understand that they are subject to the weather and this may be the norm in the landscaping business. Price is reasonable, though not inexpensive. I would highly recommend this company and will continue to do business with them.

My experience is at a time when TLC has apparently had some HR problems. My job was estimated and confirmed and scheduled 4/21 by someone who left the company just after that. The job was originally scheduled for 5/12. After missing that date the job was done on 5/23. The crew could have been better prepared- arrived without some critical equipment. The work was done well and completed in one day.

No agreement, no follow up per this company!

It went great! The yard looked really good. They didnt bother anyone, they just did the work and left. I like the company so far! I called, they came, they worked and they left. What more can you ask for in a company. I even drilled the company on how their crew dressed and they made me feel real comfortable when they said they were uniformed and did not believe in anything else. I will be using them this Spring and I expect that I will continue to receive great service.

Right before the first very cold night of the year, I called many places to winterize my sprinkler system so the pipes wouldn't burst. The first three that I called were either outrageously overpriced ($130 for one) or couldn't do the work for a week or more. Total lawn care answered my call right away. They took my information so they could check availability. They called me back within the hour saying they could do it the next day for $50. The technician showed up on time (even a few minutes early) and did the work quickly. I will continue to use their service.

They quoted me for other things at the time and I might possibly use them in the spring. They followed up with us. They made some pointers to us that could be done different. They took care of all of that, which was nice. There was nothing wrong with them. They were pretty good.

We were very happy with them. They missed to come out two weeks in July, but other than that they have been coming every week. I think that the quality of their job has been really good. We are overall pretty pleased.

They did a good job. All was well. They evened the yard out and planted grass. They charged me $100 for the work. I will consider using them again in the future.

Bill provided useful insight into what would work and what would not work on my shady lawn. He also provided tips on future maintenance for the yard. He seemed to be the most knowledgeable of all the quotes I got, so I signed with his company. The workers were efficient and thorough, came early in the morning and got to work immediately, did not appear to cut any corners. The cleaned up after they left and my yard looked completely different after they were done! About 1 week after they finished working the grass seed started to germinate and is producing excellent results, even in areas where I was afraid no grass would grow due to problems with shade. Hopefully my lawn will turn into a nice green carpet over the next few weeks, I will keep my fingers crossed. My experience with this company has been short, but excellent. Over the next few weeks as I continue to deal with them I will have a better idea of how they work. I highly recommend them to my friends. Only problem was with scheduling - initially I was told they were coming out on a Thursday, and they didn't. When I called later they promised to come out that Saturday, and did. Also it took 3 weeks for them to come out to do the work after we had agreed on the terms.
