Modernistic

My experience was dissatisfying. They did not get all of the stains up and brought up smells that were not there before. We now have had to pull up the carpets to refinish the floors. I would not recommend this company to others.

They did a great job. They were very honest with me and upfront. They knew there were a few things that were not going to come out like I wanted, but they were upfron about this with me, which I appreciated.

Satisfied with service. Moved larger furniture for me.

The receptionist was very nice when I made the appointment. The cleaners showed up within the scheduled two hour window. They also were very nice and professional. We had them clean the traffic areas in four rooms, entryway, stairway and landing. I took the dog for a walk. By the time I came back, they were finished. The carpets are visibly cleaner than what the previous other company we were using had achieved. So based on the cost, speed, professionalism, friendliness, I would highly recommend this company. They were half as expensive, twice as fast, and got the carpet twice as clean.

Carpet cleaning after a racoon spent a few days in the house. I had to get them to come back because they did not get many of the stains. Even after the 2nd time, some of the stains were still there. I took care of them myself after that.

Superb job and valiant effort in restoring a finished basement after a flood from a broken hot water heater. This company has high tech equipment and the technicians are extremely well adversed in their field. This company is highly recommended. A+ service and result.

Jay was here right on time. He did a beautiful job of cleaning my carpets and steps. I would recommend him to my friends.

It went very well. I used them in the last week of September and they cleaned my air ducts. It was good. I have no complaints.

Modernistic came in and steam cleaned the carpeting in the main floor of our home. We have used them in the past with great results so we were not hesitant to take advantage of the coupon offer through Angie's List to obtain a nice discount off of their fee. | |Great job Modernistic. I was particularly pleased that Modernistic let me reschedule on short notice when I had a sudden out-of-town trip. Also, the technician who worked in my home explained everything, worked quickly, and removed stubborn stains (especially some dog urine marks from the staircase).

They do such a good job. I have used them the past 20 years. I would recommend them to others!

I was lead to believe the pet urine smell would go away, it did not. Waste of $45 I was lead to believe the carpets would be dry in 5-6 hours, they were not. They were still wet after 8 hrs. They were very curteous and professional. However, I will likely try someone else next time. >>>> I received a call from Modernistic Management who explained that once the pet urine gets below the carpet, into the padding, there is no carpet cleaning company that can get that out. I'll need to either replace the padding, or try some over the counter cleaners that are designed to soak into the padding; and those may not even work. They agreed to give me a $45 discount if I use them next time, which I will.

Purchased an Angie's List coupon for air duct and carpet cleaning from Modernistic. Coupon was a nice deal and could be used in the future. Scheduling was a bit difficult as Modernistic was confused how the coupon worked. Once that was cleared up after a few emails the process was fairly straight forward. Technicians arrived on time and were professional. I was much more impressed with the air duct cleaning than the carpet cleaning. Explanations from the air duct tech were clear and helpful. My only complaint with the air duct team was that they turned off furnace breakers (not circuit breakers) and didn't inform me. When I noticed that the furnace wasn't coming on after the appointment I checked the circuit breakers and then called the tech and left a message on his cell phone. I also called Modernistic and asked that the tech contact me. I never heard back. Fortunately I was able to figure out the issue on my own, but the lack of communication was a bit troubling. The carpet cleaners did a fair job, but seemed to be in a rush to finish. I noticed after the fact that they cleaned around some easy to move furniture rather than clean underneath. All in all, I thought they did an ok job and the price was good. I've had much better service from other carpet cleaners and would look for a deal elsewhere if I could get it.

Update 7/30/2014: Very unpleasant experience. On 6/25/2014, contacted the founder of the company, Mr. Robert McDonald, by certified mail asking for his help in a VERY SERIOUS matter that I just happened to noticed on 4/11/2014 (almost 8 months after the service). Since I never received any reply, I have mailed another letter today expressing my shock and disappointment regarding the lack of concern. In the letter I explained in detail the situation and how it has affected me both, physically and emotionally, and that all I needed was to be reassured of their work ethic. Nothing. The only thing I can say for sure is that I deeply regret hiring Modernistic. It turned out to be a highly unpleasant and stressful experience, and probably very costly too. I will never hire them again. I'm glad other people have had good experiences with them, but I didn't. I've should have seen the red flag when I had trouble booking the appointment and dealing with customer service and/or billing department.

Cleaning went well. They came and did a professional job. The carpet looks almost new.

I has some water proofing work that left some contaminates in my furnace. They come out and did the work. Where done, thinking everything was done appropriately, they asked me to turn on the furnace and when I did there was a horrible smell. I asked if they cleaned the furnace and they said that they didn’t clean furnaces at all. That's the reason I got the deal.

Found special deal on here. Contacted provider to find out if they could do it immediately as there was a time constraint. Purchased deal and was able to schedule to be completed two days later. Communication was excellent, service was performed on time.

I just moved in and the carpets were horrible! The tech arrived on time (called me about an hour earlier to confirm. He was professional and courteous. Not only did the technician work very hard (sweating) he went the extra mile and really worked to get some horrible stains out. The price for 4 rooms and stairs was quite satisfactory. I then requested the same technician to clean my air ducts (he is one of 3 technicians that can do both). He arrived on time, laid down the tarp, wore protective shoe gear, took me into the basement and gave me a great camera view of my air ducts. He explained everything that was going to be done, and did it. He also was kind enough to check my furnace filter and replace it. I'd hire them again in a minute, especially Anthony Ashley.

It went well. However, the carpet though very clean, was a lot wetter than I had been told. It took all day to dry, so we had to put towels in the walking areas. The men were nice , so I may get them again.

This was our first time using Modernistic and they did not disappoint us. The two gentlemen, David and Brett who cleaned our carpet were very professional, punctual, courteous and worked nonstop. They took extra care to answer any questions that we may have had and to ensure that we were satisfied with the work that was completed. We would definitely use Modernistic again along with a request for our excellent team to return as well.

I had the carpet cleaned in my new house prior to moving in the furniture. The staff was professional and punctual. There were no issues. I got some good advice, I think, on how to care for the carpet in the future (because the last owners made some mistakes that made the carpet cleaning a challenge).

Great. Response time was amazing, I called on Monday and there were here on time this morning (Wednesday) Steve and Ed were fantastic. Very informative, professional and attentive. Our carpet looks amazing as do our oriental rugs. Everything looks like new and smells fantastic! I also really appreciated the care they took with being careful with our just redone wood floors and freshly painted white trim and moldings. I would highly recommend both Steve and Ed as well as Modernistic for carpet and upholstery
