 + -1 moreSteve is a professional guy, retired from GM. He was so easy to work with, very accommodating. After agonzing about the style and stain of the front door, my main concern was how the doors would be installed, who would do it, how much experience, capability do they have? He assured me no worries there. The installer was extremely experienced, it took nearly all day for each door, considering the removal of not only the original door, but storm door, siding around the door, etc. He asked my opinion several times. By the end of both projects - it was quality, quality, quality - I have no concerns about air leaks, water getting in. And it looks so good - inlcuding all the siding wraparounds, the molding around the doors, etc. To top it off - I have had a problem with box elder bugs nesting underneath the sills of both doors. He was a trooper to help me kill them! I'm hopeful that I got them all and no more bugs crawling around my beautiful new doors. I feel the price was worth the quality of the doors and the workmanship.
Description of Work: I've been intending to replace these doors for a long time, but the federal tax credit did it for me. I saw Doors Galore in the phone book. Tried several places but none open on Labor Day weekend. Steve was open. He worked with me to look at options to replace my front door and patio sliding doors. I was impressed that he used Michigan-based manufacturers. I didn't want the typical doors you'd find at warehouse DYI places. He showed me a catalog with so many styles, options, steel v fiberglass v wood, etc. I made my selection - took weeks to get the doors but I was not in a hurry. The front door was installed in late November and the patio doors in early March. He also helped me seal up the framing around my two sets of garage doors, as well as put a window in an existing door to allow light into the hallway.
