Chant Landscape and Mowing

This company is dishonest and sloppy. I hired them to mow our lawn a few times, and they managed to damage the grass by consistently cutting it too short, destroy our compost bin by running over it with their riding mower, and damage our yew bushes by trimming them improperly (they still haven't recovered after over a year). When they left a flyer in our door this fall advertising leaf cleanup and free estimates, my elderly mother hired them as a surprise for me (not realizing this was the same company I'd had a bad experience with). She made the mistake of paying them the $100 fee up front. They did not show up on the day they were scheduled and furthermore never called. I decided to do it myself or hire someone else; rain was coming in the forecast and it needed to be done soon. I called them and told them not to bother coming and asked them to tear up my mother's check. However they had already cashed it despite not having done the work. They promised to send me a refund, but said they had to deduct a $10 "estimate" fee, despite their flyer clearly saying "free estimates". A refund finally arrived (after more prompting from me), except it was for $80! They have not responded to my request that they send me the remaining $20.
