SELECT FLOORING

Select Flooring did a magnificent job.  On all levels we were extremely pleased.  Chris did a great job helping us select the carpet and hardwood flooring that met our budget.  They broke out pricing which allowed us to reduce some costs by completing some tasks ourselves. They were very accommodating regarding our tight scheduling requirements including installing the hardwood floors in two separate timelines (we wanted the kitchen renovations completed before they did the kitchen floors).  The work was very professionally done.  Vince's attention to detail and doing the job right was obvious all through the project. When he discovered some very minor scratches on the hardwood, he promptly fixed it by replacing the damaged pieces - his comment "I can't accept a flaw I created no matter how minor - when you buy a new car, you don't expect it to come with any dents you didn't cause."  Some other nice surprises: 

• including the laundry room flooring (material and installation) at no additional cost if we purchased the hardwood flooring,
• they fixed a closet cupboard door and a loose washer hose without us asking and without any extra costs,
• a free hardwood care kit,
• they used the garage as a workspace and left it cleaner than they found it.

My wife an I are extremely pleased with our beautiful new hardwood floors.  We would definitely highly recommend Select Flooring!

This provider came in after another contractor had botched the job. He cleaned up/ fixed all of the problems and gave me floors that look like furniture! He had a problem with his custom made stain in that his provider did not mix the solvent with the color, but he made it right and the color is exactly what I dreamed of. He is always willing to share his knowledge and has a work ethic one rarely sees these days. Vince is a true craftsman in every sense of the word. I have been telling everyone I meet or who visits my home that if they ever need floor work done, Vince is and quot;The Manand quot;!

Great! Vince came out and gave me the estimate right away, and I scheduled the appointment shortly thereafter. They came out as promised, and the hardwood floors look awesome! They were in pretty bad shape, with a few large gouges in the floor, and I can't even see it. I wish I would've called them ages ago! The carpet looks great in the back bedroom as well

This is a company run by a husband and wife team -- they have a physical store which is great so that you can go (multiple times if need be) to pick out exactly what you want. It took us a while to decide on our floor, and on who to use. Chris and Vince were gracious throughout the process. No high pressure sales, just helpful information if you want it.
One thing I really liked is knowing that the people who were selling me the floor would be the ones who were going to put it in -- that is, not a separate installation team.
One other thing that really speaks to their honesty and credibility: once we had chosen our floor, a mid range Cherry, they told me they would have to call to make sure it was in stock. When they called me back, they told me that the manufacturer had lowered their price, and they passed the decrease along to us! This was a several hundred dollar adjustment, and we would have had no way of knowing about it (they could have just kept the difference) -- I had already agreed to the price they had quoted, so this was very welcome, if not surprising.
We were able to schedule the installation within 2 weeks of agreement. I had decided to pull out my old floors (1 hardwood and 1 vinyl) myself to save money (alot of work, I would rethink this if I had to do it again) -- Vince offered advice on how best to approach this -- he also made it clear that this was not an issue (that is, they would not resent us trying to save money by doing some of the job ourselves), and he always prices things out separately so that the customer can choose to perform some things themselves and know what the savings will be.
They came on the Tuesday after Labor Day -- took 3 days to install the floor. Vince came back himself on Friday to finish up a few details -- this is the type of thing that I had expected I may have to call several times to get them to come back out (based on past experience with services), but he was there the next day to make sure everything was totally completed.
All-in-all, they did a great job on the installation -- Tim and Vince have been doing floors for quite a long time (20years?) and know how to handle most every odd situation. Very friendly, offer good advice, and strong attention to detail. Felt very comfortable with them and their team in my home.
I like to use places that are established and do great work, but which are still growing, hungry and responsive. This is that type of place. I would highly recommend them for floors -- we took a long time and spoke to alot of different places before making our decision -- we are extremely happy.

Great experience! The owner and his wife were a delight to work with. It's a family owned business and being new to the Saline, we preferred giving our business to a local establishment. However, we wanted to do our due diligence so we checked out carpet and installation at the big box stores. Select Flooring was very competitive with the other stores' quotes (within $50), but were able to do the job before the other stores and before we moved in. We were sold. The owner actually did the installation with another guy and the job went smoothly. The carpet looks beautiful and I know if anything goes wrong, I can get in touch with them quickly. Would highly recommend them.

Everything was excellent. We were very impressed with the dustless process they implemented for the project.

Their service was excellent. Vince Geddes was very responsive to questions and kept me apprised of everything he was doing and why. He charged me exactly what he quoted. We had to ask him to let various workmen into the house for other projects and to work around a toilet we removed in order to let the plumber complete his work. He did all this without complaint, and he even put down floor protection to avoid scratches from these workmen. He came early and left late, sometimes as late as 9pm, in order to complete the project on deadline - which he did. He took extra steps, such as cutting off overly high heating ducts in order to have a perfect result.
