Worst experience with a contractor ever. It took them about 22 weeks to get one door installed. Ordered mid April, told it was done (it was a custom door) and in warehouse by the end of June but no install date until the end of July. The first scheduled appointment was about 12 weeks after we ordered. They canceled that day due to weather but I have pictures showing it was sunny. I even have a text from their own salesman saying he will check and see why they canceled on a sunny day. He never did get back to me. The next install was canceled due to weather again. At this point they had to schedule me another 3 weeks out. I tried to cancel the order and was threaten with a letter saying I would be in breach on contract. The letter said,"Failure to contact this office within 24 hours will result in action to collect and honor your signed contract." I called and agreed to try one more date. About a week later I received and email that said, "Currently our window schedule is full and we do have installations that have to be scheduled prior to yours". I had 24 hours to respond or bad things would happen. They were going to hold me accountable but yet seemed to have no sense of accountability. The contract does say that they can cancel due to weather so you really have no way to stop them from delaying your install. The salesman was full of promises that we never saw. I have spent many sleepless nights because of one patio door. After about 22 weeks ( I was on vacation for 10 of those weeks so I would not have had to take a day off of work for the install), we finally got our door. The finance contract we applied for and received had expired several weeks before they installed the door. We just paid them and did not worry about trying to get the financing. They ended up giving us 200.00 off the price of the door. I would much rather have preferred being able to get out of the contract without penalty.

The install crew were good and efficient. However the roof vents were installed were NOT the venting system the salesman and I agreed upon. I was supposed to get ridge and hip vents and got big ugly can vents. Not one other home within view of mine has those big ugly things. The job was completed when I was out of town or that would NOT have happened. Now Hansons wants to fight to the bitter end to not come back and do the roof they way I was told it would be done. I was also told by many people who know roofs that I was overcharged by quite a bit and probably didn't even need a new roof for several years. Never never never use Hansons!! Those vents may not look bad to you but when they're the only ones in the neighborhood they really stick out.

The sales person arrived a little early and after measuring the house sat down to discuss the siding plans. He came up with a bid right then and there which we thought was very high. When we hesitated he began to add discounts. We still hesitated because we wanted to see and understand exactly what we were buying but he did not even have examples of the siding we were interested in. He continued offering more discounts to sign the contract right then which we refused even when he offered the job at for a nearly $10,000 discount because we could no longer trust what he said. We felt that if the company can offer such huge discounts the initial price had to be grossly inflated and were still not sure we were getting a fair price. We did not like the tactics used to get us to sign a contract on the spot without even knowing exactly what we were buying. We sure feel sorry for folks who would sign the initial bid.

Started out with a sales lady that was very professional and knowledgeable, but quickly turned ugly when the crew showed up. The crew left our roof unfinished one evening and it downpoured that night leaving us with a flooded house. The (so called) crew and a GM of Hansons came out the next morning to see the damage that was done to the inside of our home. Their solution was to get some good paint and paint over the wetness. (We had plaster hanging from the ceiling) Not feeling comfortable with that option we decided to contact a water damage company and our insurance. The Hansons crew tried collecting money before they were even close to being finished. Once the first crew was fired we got another crew that came to our house to do repairs, but there was SO much wrong that he recommended a complete teardown and rebuild ... this crew was to never be seen again. Another crew came out and did only repairs we pointed out and nothing more. We had this crew out about 5 times before Hansons finally decided to re ... re-roof the whole house. After 2 months of dealing with Hansons we finally have a new roof, but are still inconvenienced by the ongoing water damage repairs in our home. DO NOT HIRE HANSONS!

Waited MONTHS to begin work, which was now in the dead of winter. Crew members no-showed causing job to take weeks. Several problems with workmanship: 1. Roof removed and not properly covered, snow melt leaked through ceiling. 2. Left a 2x4 bolted to the dormer on the upstairs bathroom--still there today. 3. Tons of nails left in driveway. I bagged several and gave them to Hanson's at the Millham office. 4. Old shingle fragments all over. Still in window wells today. 5. Nails and shingle pieces left on flat roof. 6. Shingles not laying flat where roof angles. Subcontractor promised they would lay down in the summer sun--not seeing the physics of how a shingle bends at a 30 dregree angle just from gravity. 7. Small roof over bay window left undone for months. When done, the shingles weren't overlapped and they left gaps large enough to see the original shingles (which weren't removed). 8. Were promised our downspouts would be removed and put back up (I had hoped to repaint them at that time). Never done. 9. Protective roof spray not done (since there are still gaps, what's the point?) 10. Edge of shingles not cut off cleanly. Generally, prolonged inconvenience, Multiple service requests, VERY difficult to reach service staff, although they were given a hard-to-reach number.
Description of Work: In August of 2014 Hired Hanson's to replace aging roof on 1940 home. We had lower bids on the job, but chose Hanson's because of the professionalism of the sales staff and promises of quality work.

Hansons windows is fantastic! They helped us with two projects, first one was very small, second one a larger one, so we can speak on both experiences. First job- We needed to replace just one window that a person who rented a home from us broke. Despite the fact that the project was just one window, Jay who came out to visit us, took the time to do a thorough consultation about the pros and cons of each material available for a replacement window. The window we received is nice and sturdy. Because we liked the results of that project so much, we hired Hansons Windows to replace ALL of the windows in our home that we live in. Second job - I called Jay back to make sure he was the one that would come back. He said not a problem he would be more than happy to come to our home now and give us an estimate. We had already sat through the consultation so we didn?t need to go through that again. The price was reasonable, the crew was friendly, courteous and competent, the neighbors were thrilled because the crew did not even leave a hint of a mess to indicate that they were even there, and the windows look marvelous! You cannot go wrong with this company.

The salesman was very friendly and accommodating. Scheduling and taking measurements and required information before installation was very poor. The installer postponed the original installation date until he could get better measurement information and installation data. Even then, he was surprised to find the house is on a slab and not the basement he expected. Fortunately the installers were very professional and could complete the work in spite of the mis-information they received. Sales staff: very good Coordinating staff: very poor - dates and other information was not well communicated - I was once called about a needed inspection and then called back to say it was a mistake. Installation staff: Excellent. These two knew what they were doing and performed both courteously and efficiently. The tub works about as expected, but I thought it was to include some type of heating unit to keep the water warm while in the bath. That is not the case and is not anywhere in the written material. I guess that makes it my mistake.
Description of Work: Installed a walk-in tub, including removing the existing tub and connecting a new circuit from the Main breaker-box

We asked them to come give us an estimate on replacing our siding. The salesman started with a quote of $22,000 and get coming down when we didn't sign a contact. The final quote was around $10000. Ridiculous. He refused to leave! It was a nightmare.

I think they do roofing and sidings too, but we just had them do our windows. We were very happy with them. I like everything about them. Their prices were reasonable. I am impressed with them. They showed up on time and did a good job.

I like the product they have, but I actually had some issues with the workers. They missed a few screws on the gutters and they didn't caulk the siding that they put up. Water got in and damaged it, but they did eventually come back out and caulk it.
