Good, minor issue next day and they came right out and fixed it. We signed up and paid for the yearly tune up service for our furnace and AC unit. I was told that someone would be calling in the next couple of weeks to come out and service our furnace. We have not heard from anyone so disappointed there.

I had a huge broken pipe in my slab that had been leaking under my home for two months My water bill had doubled .. I was quite upset .. I received three quotes from three different companies. Dan Wood was a higher in price than the other quotes but when I spoke with Cary Bradshaw, ( Dan Wood's project manager), he explained the step by step process that would need to be done to fix. I felt confident that he knew exactly what to do and how long it would take . Cary explained everything and even talked to me over the phone when it came time to choose Tub, fixtures etc when I was at the Big Box store. He also suggested a water softener which I ended up having installed along with a new water heater. TJ Collins was the actual plumber who did the entire job . He did not mess around.. he got right to work! All pipes had to be cut and new pex pipes installed. The job took three days.. Through walls and ceilings..walls to tear down It was quite extensive.. TJ cleaned up after each night.. was there when I returned from work to explain everything that was accomplished each day.. I was without water for only one day. TJ was very patient & polite with all my questions.. and I had many as the job progressed. Cary Bradshaw called me each day to see if I was satisfied with what was done. I must say I was very impressed with how organized everything was and how punctual everyone was. After the job was done.. I received two follow up calls. They came back after the job was done and made a couple of minor adjustments on the shower head , and faucet and snaked the kitchen drain . They made sure everything was done on the list to my satisfaction. I guess for me personally I did not mind paying more because they obviously knew what they were doing and I did not want to have to worry about it. I wanted to go away and come back and have everything fixed and it was.

Both jobs were handled very well. We really appreciate the ready availability of the work crew for next work day service - our situation wasn't an"emergency" which we stressed when we called . (Wearing cloth booties is a plus and not expected!.) Both gentlemen handling these installations were very polite, professional, offered helpful suggestions with the shutoff valve update, cleaned up the installation "mess", both were here when they said they would be and the process took about the amount of time they estimated.
Description of Work: Installed updated shutoff valves for laundry equipment, replacing those that were 42 years old. Two weeks prior to this we also had them install a new kitchen faucet. Installation cost was $150 (we had purchased the faucet)

Company arrived within the time frame stated . I needed 2 water shut-off valve replace in the basement near the water source entry. Their estimate was so off the mark until I though they had made a mistake in their calculations, needless to say , I declined their service and paid the $69.00 service call fee. I call another repair service and got the work done for 1/4 the cost of this company.

The service man came on time and was professional. Overall the work was done correctly. I, however, am not found of their pricing model. They do not charge by the hour or for materials, but have general blanket pricing for the type of job done. This may be great if the project is very big, but for something small like a single leaky pike junction that could be completed in around 30 minutes, almost $400 did not seem fair. I recommend getting a phone estimate first, if the price is right, then you are good to go, as the quality is good as well.

The service person arrived at the scheduled time and was friendly. He respected the cleanliness of our home and used shoe covers when inside. After the initial evaluation, he gave three options and explained each one and pros/cons of each, so I could make an informed decision. After selecting an option (replace a valve, vs replacing entire unit and an option in between), he promptly got to work and was finished in a reasonable amount of time (about 30 minutes). He replaced a copper pipe with a pvc pipe and took the copper pipe with him. Later on, I realized that I would have liked it if he gave me the option of keeping the copper, but that's fairly minor. The part that was a little confusing and odd was that when scheduling the appointment, I was told that it was a $10 trip fee that would be charged even if I only used them to quote and not do the work. However when billing, the service trip charge was $69 dollars in addition to the actual work. This was very surprising. It could have been handled better, perhaps there was a misunderstanding between the scheduler and the service tech. He did honor the Angie's List coupon though, which helped. After everything, the total was just under 275. Finally, I appreciated a followup call two days later to ensure everything was working correctly.

They charged me $187 for the service when they came out and looked at my air conditioner, even though they didn't fix anything and it leaked worse than ever when they left. I called another company who came out and fixed it temporarily for only $85, while they ordered a part and waited for it to come in. In the meantime, Dan Wood called me back and informed me it would cost $1200 to fix the air conditioner. I let them know that I decided to go with another company. The other company fixed the problem for $490, including parts and labor. I'm glad I didn't go with Dan Wood and I will not use them again in the future. I also didn't appreciate the technician talking politics while on the job.

Todd added shut off valves to my bathroom sink and replaced my tub diverter. Even though the plumbing is older (and slightly strange), he was able to make it work. He also gave me tips for other plumbing related things around my house and tutored me a little bit in replacing my sink and faucet on my own. Wonderful service, great experience, will call again if I need anything else.

2 hours to evaluate the condition of the water softener and pronunce it dead. Within 24 hours of our decision on which water softener to proceed with we had a new one and - understood how to operate it!
Description of Work: We have never had a water softener before and the house we purchased had one that was not working (we were not aware and the inspection missed it). The Dan Wood company educated us on water softeners and we were able to decide how to proceed. I'm sure there would have been a cost savings to doing it ourselves but in the long run they were faster, more knowledgeable, and will stand behind their work. We would use them again for any big projects that come up.

Overall, I was pleased with the service. They were very quick to get to my house and provide a free written estimate, and then had the new water heater at my house within a day of accepting the offer. From start to finish from estimate to installation was 3 days. My only two issues were that the wrtiten estimate did not give a detailed breakdown of cost of water heater, labor, parts, additional plumbing----it was all lumped into one figure. The other issue was the price...they were a little on the pricy side, but because they could get me a new water heater within a day, I was willing to pay a premium to not have to go a few more days without hot water. I will use them again because the plumber that did the work on my water heater was nice, courteous, and how the process would work...he was patient and explained some of the things he would be doing.
Description of Work: I had to replace my water heater quickly. Old water heater was leaking and had a cracked liner. It was recommended I shut off water heater immediately so problem would not get bigger or escalate.

SWe are on a well, and one morning we suddenly had no water one morning. Called their office early and they were all in a meeting. We started getting frustrated, but in the end they came out that day and stayed until the work was completed and our water running again. They were very nice and seemed knowledgeable-enough to find lots of problems with how things were originally installed and fix them before there were additional problems. We did feel that it was expensive, but we hope it will be worth it in the long run.
Description of Work: Replaced water tank under the house and fixed some plumbing issues go restore water supply. Had to cut out the door to the crawl space a little because the replacement tanks were too big to fit, but they did a clean job of the cut and we are able to still use the same cover for the opening.

We were pleased with the work, the professionalism of Chris, and the time he spent explaining the issues and how to resolve them.
Description of Work: The work was proformed by Chris Rogers, he was professional and very helpful. And, everthing seems to be working fine now. We had more done than what I had thought we would but then I am not a plumbing expert. The house was built in the mid 1950's and the pipes are the original piping. The lavatory was checked for a leak in the trap, repairs were made; the kitchen sink had stoppage issues, it was snaked and found to be full of grease from many years; and finally, a riser was installed with PVC and an air admittance value was added for better so the drain would perform better.

I called the 24 hr answering service and she gave me the option to get a technician right away for $200 or wait until 7:30 for the business to open up, I chose to wait Dan Woods called before 8:00 and put me on the list for service promising that it would be that same day. Tech called me around 10:00 to give me an estimate on what time he would be coming. The work was done quickly and a runner met him half way with the new motor so saved time there. The final bill was exactly what he estimated it would be before he started the work ... all in all happy with the service.

Scott came to the door, introduced himself, put on his red bootied to keep my floors clean and went right to work. He inspected each of the areas that he needed to work on and explained what the best solution was to each problem. We agreed that the kitchen faucet and sprayer needed to be replaced and I joked with him about the pipes being switched so that hot water came out of the right and cold out of the left. Scott said that when he installed the new faucet he could correct that for me. We then went to the water heater closet (I live in a modular home), and Scott could tell immediately that I had a major problem. The water tank was leaking and was starting to weaken the floor of the closet. Scott then called his dispatch and had them postone or redispatch any jobs that he had been scheduled for because he felt this was too important to put off for another day. Scott worked on those 3 things all day, starting at 8:20 and leaving at 5:20. He had to put plywood down to add structure for the new water heater. Scott was professional, but took time to talk for a few minutes at various times during the day. I would definitely recommend him and will ask for him when I have other plumping jobs to be completed. My waterheater has to be inspected by the city and Scott said that when the inspection was done, if I wanted the water heater turned up he would come by and turn it up for me at no cost.

Not great - two plumbers showed up, one of which was never introduced. The estimate was $80 higher than other company, but I had a coupon so I went with it. "CJ" (I think) was nice and professional. They started on a Monday and worked 3.5 hours, then finished a few days later on the Friday. The following Monday, I noticed a wet paper towel in the cabinet under the sink and assumed it was left there by the guys, but put a new one down over a washclothe just to be sure. Turns out both sinks were leaking into the cabinets underneath. Our new cabinets have wet marks on them now - almost a non-issue, but I guess I expected connecting sink traps to be pretty fundamental. We called the company back, they offered to send out the same plumber, but I said I wanted someone else to come back and look over the whole thing again (2nd floor over drywall/textured living room ceiling). The revisit happened the following Friday. The new plumber also found that the tub filler was loose. I just don't want to pay over $800 and take the time off work for that level of service; they were nice and professional, I just want it done right the first time. I'll call the other company next time.
Description of Work: Remodeled master bath needed two sink drains and faucets connected, toilet installed, and two shower heads, spouts, and one tub filler connected. Owned all the hardware/piping, just needed connections made to rough-ins.

Overall they did really nice work and was very professional. The price was very high for 2 days work. My only complaint is that they did not show me how to operate the water softener and they did not tell me that I needed a sediment filter on my system which I found out after my new washer got plugged.
Description of Work: Installed water softener that I already owned and installed water heater that they provided. Re plumed sump pump drain and put in exterior water line.
