The job went excellently from the quotes by the owner, Jim, to supervision, customer service, and problem resolution by his sons. Everyone we came in contact with were courteous, respectful, ethical, and had strong work ethics. Sun was there when they said they would be. The supervisor of the crew kept his team on track and, frankly, they worked their butts off in 90 degree heat. They cleaned up after themselves each day. There were problems with the Trapp entry doors that were promptly addressed. The fault was with the manufacturer and not Sun. But Sun addressed and resolved the issue. Any minor issue we had was addressed and resolved just as promptly and importantly as if it were a huge issue. We had also used Sun in the past for new windows. Any new needs that arise, we will be calling on them again.

This will be the 4th or 5th time I have used Sun Home Improvement. There is a reason I keep going back to them. The manager Dave is outstanding to work with! Although I have used them repeatedly I ALWAYS get multiple quotes and time & time again Sun Home comes up with competitve estimates. Of the 4 estimates I got done for this job they were the only company that suggested reusing the perfectly good siding I had instead of just trying to sell me new. This saved me money and was not unnoticed. They were also willing to try and salvage my gutter instead of instantly replacing it (although in the end it was decided to replace it) . Of all the companies they were the only ones that seemed to be doing everything possible to save me money!! What a relief. Dave was also the only one to indicate the roof might also need to go and be a source of some of my leaking problems. He was right. Had I gone with another company I would have had the nasty shock of suddenly finding out mid job my entire roof needed replacing. When the vinyl siding was removed there was significant wood rot found above my windows. This was not included in the estimate but I was more then impressed with them as they did not try to gouge me on the added costs and believe they were extremely fair on their charges for this unforeseen problem. It took 2 days to complete the job due to the extensive damage to the wood, after the first day they did a great job of covering everything up for the 2 days (weekend) it would wait to get completed. Dave (the manager) was out at the job site repeatedly to check on the progress and always helpful, even when I am asking about repairs I plan to do myself. The siding crew, really just one guy Chris, was polite and hard at work everytime I went to look at the progress. He was willing to answer any questions I had, always informing me of anything pertinent. He went around the rest of the house at no charge and nailed down some loose siding I had. He also made sure to level out the crossbeams across my bedroom ceiling before installing my new wood as it had been displaced because of the rot. I did not converse much with the roof crew as they were like a swarm of ants invading (in a good way:), heading immediately to work, working non-stop until it was completed, cleaning up like they had never been there, and then out. Bottom Line: We are a budget oriented client and I find everytime I work with them that they do their best to help maintain the costs for me not pushing things on us that we don't need and repairing/performing all work to the highest of standards. Dave's estimates are always right on cue and accurate foreseeing problems other companies miss. They are trustworthy, always have competitive rates and great quality work. What more can you ask for. I would hands down recommend this company. I have used them for roofing, siding, windows, and doors over the years and have been more then pleased everytime. I will continue to go back to them for years to come.

Called several window companies (all from Angie's list). Sun's quote was the least expensive by at least $1000 for similar windows. Window installation was slightly delayed from initial estimates due to weather--but that is to be expected given the weather dependent nature of the business. This truly is a family company: The installation was done by three generations: Grandfather, father, and son all complaining about each other as families do--very entertaining. The quality of the installation was top notch: everything went smoothly, and for items that did not and/or required something exceptional the specifics were clearly explained what and why. Installation was completed within two days time as quoted. Now here we are 6 months out from the new windows with one of the coldest winters on record: The windows are performing exceptionally keeping out the cold and the heat in. Very pleased with our new windows.

We were so impressed with Sun and the owner Jim Voepel! We hired them to do our outside door trim right after the new year. The weather, however, did not want to cooperate. With the frigid temps and them needing to caulk the trim we knew it would be recipe for disaster if the temps weren't above freezing. Jim and his company kept us informed, generally calling 2 times a week letting us know they wouldn't be out that week. We couldn't believe the communication we received from them! When the trim WAS installed it looked great. So great in fact, our white house now needs a power washing to match! Will definitely use them again!

Mr Vopel did a great job up front with us. We met many times and he never made me feel that we were imposing on him. I think that the quality of the siding installation is exceptional. The attention to detail is extremely good and I am very pleased with it. The only issues I had with quality was the window treatments and some of the trim. Basically, the white window trim was not kept clean during assembly and consequently it was (and is still) dirty and stained. Not to the point where I would really complain but I am only noting the difference in quality. Also, some of the caulking and some of the mill work was not done to a high standard in some places ... again acceptable ... but not to the level that I would have really liked. Lastly, the supervision was not to my liking. The foreman was there every day and did a very good job, in general, but his supervisor was only occasionally there and that lead to some friction (I spoke to both of them and this lead to misunderstandings). Again, more of a nit than an actual complaint ... they were very forthright with this and we, generally, worked it out. Also, comments about our choice of black trim where made after we had no ability to change it ... good comments ... but provided too late to help ... maybe keep those comments to yourself? In closing, good company, good people, quality work ... but I am very picky so my ratings may be a bit harsh.

The window crew and the siding crew were professional, extremely efficient and knowledgeable. They showed up to work and did a great job identifying and resolving issues. We were very impressed with their efficiency and communication.

Calls always promptly responded to, all questions answered, no attitudes. They forgot to take off the Angie's coupon on final payment. When I reminded them there was no runaround and they promptly redid the final bill with an apology. Good price, quality work, good customer service, promptness, thorough cleanup....what more could you ask for?

We used Sun last year for windows, gutters, and siding, and were very pleased with their work. When it came time to have a door replaced, we called them again. This is a family business that you can count on.

They did an excellent job! Fast, professional, and NEAT! Nothing more needs to be said. Would definitely use them again!

This is a top rate organization. I had obtained seven quotation for the work and while they were not the lowest price they provided outstanding work. It was a pleasure working with the owner Jim, his sons, and their crew. Brian the crew leader was a pleasure to work with him. Their quality of work was outstanding and would definitely would recommend using them. We are so glad that we chose them to do the work on our house.

I was informed two weeks in advance when the crew would be at my home to install windows which was really helpful. Vincent, Scott and Verne were incredible! They are professionals who have been doing this for some time and were a joy to watch. There was very little noise (which I was surprised about), the windows fit beautifully and they cleaned up to the point you would never know they had been here. I have two indoor cats and Vince, Scott and Verne were extremely careful about keeping doors closed as they went in and out of the house. Even the cats were unruffled! This company is amazing and I would highly recommend (and have already done so) to friends and neighbors. You will NOT be disappointed!

Everything, from beginning to end, was done as they scheduled, except for the weather that created all kinds of havoc in the first few weeks. The various crews (carpentry, roofing, doors and electrical) were very professional, courteous and punctual. At the end of each work day, they cleaned up the construction debris before leaving. The siding guys drew the hottest couple of weeks of the summer and worked diligently through it. Rob and Dave, the owners, took care of everything, including obtaining all of the permits. They stayed in constant contact with us and showed up almost every day during construction to check on the progress and to make sure we were happy and well informed. Sun was not the lowest bid for what we wanted done, but, they were the most honest and up front. They didn't hedge on anything. If we asked for a price, they gave to us and there were NO surprises. The other companies seemed to be vague and not willing to commit to a hard price. Sun did. We understood that there are always unanticipated variables, but Sun did their best to avoid them and minimize any that popped up. They even rolled with the punches when we added new entry doors and storm doors to the project after quoting the original price. They then worked with us to find the best quality products and an acceptable cost. A GREAT COMPANY!

Contacted Sun Home Improvement about replacing my dining room window, after they had already replaced 10 other windows for me. They did a great job on the previous windows and did an equally good job on this additional one. We agreed on a price and then they ordered the window from pella. It was scheduled for installation today at noon. They arrived about 15 minutes early and went right to work. They had the installation complete and everything cleaned up by 1:25. They even vacuumed the carpet where they did the work. They are very courteous and professional and they respect you home and it's contents while they are working.

These guys are great! Very professional, kept all appointments and completion date was right on time from what was quoted.

I was very pleased with the experience with Sun from start to finish. Rob was my initial contact and remained accessible throughout the job to address any questions and ensure my satisfaction. The crew that worked on the house was excellent -- they paid close attention to detail, especially trimming out the upper level windows. I love the way they came out and have received compliments from the neighbors (thank you Chris for working with me so patiently by showing me exactly what the different options would look like)! The crew also did a great job cleaning up the job site. I really appreciated that. I highly recommend Sun Home Improvement and will go back to them for our future projects.

They offered a very competitive price and the work was perfect. Great attention to detail and doing it right. The best working crew, I have ever seen!

James walked me through the installation process and gave me suggestions on colors and styles which helped me save some money and get the appearance I was looking for. Their price was competitive with other quotes I rec'd. The installers were very professional and cleaned up well. Some foam insulation leaked out after the inital install but they came out fixed the problem immediately. I was glad to know they were putting as much insulation in as possible rather than putting in in the minimum. Would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others!

After taking about 5 quotes from other vendors, I decided on Sun Home Improvement for a number of reasons. The first was the professional demeanor of the owner, Jim, and his description of the service that I would receive both upon and after installation. I didn't want some hack coming into my house, and then leaving me with problems. Second factor was pricing. His was the best for 16 windows I had installed. The 2-man crew that did the work performed their task exceptionally. They made it look easy, and the results were anything but ordinary. The workmanship is evident in the product. These windows look like the were made for the openings. The trim is all tight as can be, the alignment perfect. The craftsmanship shown with the installation process is just impressive. A couple small issues with slight imperfections in the wood windows were taken care of quickly. New parts were installed, no questions asked.

Replacing more than half of the windows in one's home, while staying in that home, doing that workin the middle of a cold winter is not an undertaking to be considered lightly nor to entrust to amateurs. We replaced @three quarters of the windows in our home in early January - Sun Home Improvement did the work in both a timely manner and in a way that provided as little disruption as possible, given the scope of the job. Great group - they arrived when they said they would arrive, cleaned up, kept channels of communication open, answered every question we had and delivered a quality product and service for a good price. Very professional!

Overall the experience was pleasant and professional with no surprises. The operation was completed in a day, though the ordering took some time due to the custom sized windows that were ordered. Jim, Dave, Jeff and Rob were all very courteous and professional to deal with and also the two person team that was sent to complete the job were organized and did a neat job with no mess. Even the emails were responded to, in a prompt manner.

I found Sun Home Improvement on Angie's list, and since the ratings and comments sounded so positive, I decided to give Sun a call. Right from the first contact with the owner, James Voepel, I knew this was a company that I had to consider for our siding, gutters, and windows. James responded to my initial phone call in a speedy manner, he wasn't high pressure, and he took the time to answer all of my questions. We scheduled an appointment for an estimate, and James arrived right on time as promised. James took a considerable amount of time listening to our needs, answering questions, providing samples, and taking precise measurements. As a matter-of-fact, part of our siding/gutter job was being covered by our insurance company, and James offered to send his measurements and drawings to the adjuster when he discovered that the insurance company had miscalculated the number of linear feet of gutter that we needed. The adjuster agreed that they had miscalculated and agreed with Jim's careful measurements! After getting estimates from three other companies, we chose Sun to do all of our work. Sun's prices were in-line with the competition, we found James to be professional and easy to work with, and we felt that he was being honest and up-front with us. James didn't try to up-sell us as many other outfits tried to do. He presented all of our options and gave us the pluses and minuses of each. No slick salesmanship, just clear explanations.... He also gave us a list of references, and we were able to drive around and look at other jobs Sun had completed in our area. After signing our contract, James and his sons continued to be honest and professional throughout the entire process. They started the job when promised, arrived each day as expected, and finished the entire siding, gutter, and window job in a timely manner. We told James that we were expecting company in late September, and he went out of his way to insure that the work was complete before that time. During the project, James or one of his sons would be at the site each day to inspect the progress, give us updates, and answer any questions we had. We love our new siding, gutters, and windows, and we plan on using Sun again in the spring to replace additional windows in our home. We are pretty picky people, and Sun exceeded our expectations. You won't be sorry if you give them a call!
