I am not real thrilled with the set up I am going to send it back. The little thing that they give you to attach to your dress it is very heavy, and if I wear it on my wrist, I will beat it up so I will send it back. Another thing that I don't care for is that I got two phone calls and they thought I was Mr. Broomley and they had my number for somebody else. The price was a little expensive. The quality is excellent. It was well built and I did hit it accidentally one time, and there was a voice immediately. The responsiveness was good. I will call them and see if they have anything lighter, if not, it is going back.

It went well. It wasn't working properly but they replaced that. It works well. The mechanics of it and what it offers is pretty unique for the device. It's a little bit more expensive. If someone falls, it detects that. It's much higher being in any others. They follow up with her. It's a little bit more but it's worth it. They didn't want to replace it for a week and I had to get them to a lawsuit to get them to respond with it. All in all, it's satisfactory. Sometimes I think their customer support staff is limited. Sometimes the system is not working for over an hour. They should be more responsive with clients.

So far the jury is still out. We took a walk around the corner with it, pushed the button and it took 7 minutes for someone to answer. If my 80 year old husband is on the ground, outside somewhere, and it takes 7 minutes for them to answer, it is not okay. Their reason was they couldn't find cell signal. They are responsive and they get back to me, but that one thing is still up in the air. Their price is average, it is not great, it is just about the same as everybody else's. When you call them, they respond, except for that one issue. I think they are pretty professional. If I have to drop them and try another company then I will not be happy.

It went great. They gave me information, paid to have the old one shipped back, and the new one shipped to me. They were very helpful, and there wee no problems at all.
Description of Work: Contacted them for a medical alert system to fit my needs. I go outside in the summer to work in my garden and I needed something that would give me coverage there. I also needed to communicate with the person making the call, without going inside to the base.I received a transmitter that worked real well, but kept catching on my clothes, and was awkward for me. I was told about another type of transmitter and decided to do a switch.

The people were a nice but very sales oriented. They called and talked to my mother without any request or invitation on my part. They played with the price by saying they were giving me a two month discount, which turned out to be no discount based on the advertised cost on the web site. The most disturbing part of the experience was the equipment. It is advertised to be able to find you anywhere based on the GPS; however, at two different locations the GPS showed the house next door. The Assistance Team took a long time to answer the phone. They claim that they will provide a full refund, but we must pay the postage to return their equipment.

It worked out very well. It is ongoing. I think it is $380 a year. I give them a B because the only problem I had with them is because I had a problem and they said I needed to call this number and they weren't very helpful. If it would have been a medical emergency it wouldn't have been good at all. They are pretty competitive with there price.

Everything has gone good so far with the service. All I know is what she has told me and she likes them. I was told the button got pushed by accident and they called my husband and where happy to know it works.

We ended up not using the service because the person we wanted to use the button for refused to wear it. However we were pleased that we could return it easily. The Angie's price was very much in line with other competitors and The kit included everything. Not just a button but a receiver and microphone and lockbox.

It went well. I wear the necklace and the equipment they sent was very easy to set it up. Once a week I change the batteries and there is voice that tells me that the batteries are active and if I press the button they will call me back. I accidentally pushed the button once when I leaned against the sink and they came on and I said that it?s working. I paid a year and we saved 27% from Angie?s List recommendation and I think it is going to be fine. If anything happens all I have to do is push the button and they will come. They told me that when I feel that something is not right or if there is an emergency like a fire in the house, I can also push the button and they will notify the fire department or the police. They are excellent. I have no complaints. They are very professional. I was able to talk to someone else but it was difficult to even get in touch with them that is why I didn't go with them. They gave me annual which I read. I can call them anytime if I have a problem. I called them once to say that I will be on vacation and they suspended the services for the period that I was gone. I will definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: I used the big deal of Medical Care Alert. They just sent it through mail and there were no installation at all because all I had to do is put the battery and take the battery out of the main component which is the equipment and then take the battery out to be charged. Then put it on the necklace which I wear, the little compartment, and it activates right away. There is no installation involved other than plug it to the wall. Last Sunday I changed the battery and the battery said that it works and it is activated.

My parents are resistant to new things and to strange people in their house. But by telephone, they managed to complete the testing and placing of the device quite smoothly. Great service working with difficult customers!

I chose the Medical Care Alert company based on the reviews that said they were very responsive and that they would arrange for cost free return of the equipment and cancellation of the contract if it did not work for the customer. Well that is definitely not what my brother found to be the case. My brother looked at their website info, called and talked to the sales person and settled on a year's contract for the GPS system. When the equipment came he realized that it was not going to work for our mother because it needed to be in a charging stand when at home and then she had to remember to put it into her handbag every time she left the house. He called to cancel the contract and was on hold for 20 minutes before speaking to a customer service person. They would not hear of cancelling but kept trying to give him a better deal. When he asked to speak to a supervisor, they hung up on him. He called again and again waited 20 minutes to speak to customer service. Again he was given a hard sales pitch for a better deal. When he asked to speak to the manager, he was put on hold again, and then, when they said they were transferring him to the manager, he was disconnected. He called again, this time to the billing department. He finally got someone who said they would help and would reverse the charge on Mom's credit card. They also told him that he had only 15 days from when they received the equipment to send it back or Mom would be charged for 3 months use. This information is not on their website or in their contract and was never mentioned by any of the sales or customer service persons. They did not offer to pay the cost of sending the equipment back. Now our Mom is afraid to try any other service until she sees the charge removed from her credit card, so she is alone without protection for much longer than would otherwise be necessary.
Description of Work: My brother asked me to find a medical alert system that my mother could have with her at all times since she has been having small strokes.

Had it for almost two years, and never had to use it in an emergency, but tested it and that went fine. When I needed to end the contract because mom moved to assisted living, I was told to send everything back in the original packaging on my own expense and only then would I get a refund of unused months. Well, my mom had lost one of the monitors which is a cheap plastic transmitter, and they charged me enormously for it. Just BE AWARE you need to keep everything and send it back at your own expense and insured for $350.00. If you don't they will charge you $350.00. I spent $700.00 for this, and they were not even nice about it when I questioned it. Won't use them again.
Description of Work: Got this medical alert for my mom and got the bigger package - two monitors, lock box, and set.

However, representatives are very professional and were very attentive when we moved our mother and the system to another residence. Also, when the monitor started malfunctioning, they immediately sent a replacement.

When dispatched, the first responders are given the combination to retrieve the key. This works just perfectly as she fell and could not get up while my dad was on an errand. The first responders were able to get the key, enter the house and provide assistance to my mother. Another time, she fell and busted her head open in the middle of the night. My dad could not hear her so she pushed her button and the first responders arrived in less than 5 minutes. My mother tests her unit every month and she has had to use it 3 times in the past 2 years. Everyone is always so nice and helpful. There are cheaper products out there but I have had such good service with this group of people that I intend to keep them. The system has battery back up in case of power outage and my mother can use the button for any emergency whether it be a fire/smoke, intruder, falling or any medical emergency that she feels that she needs help.
Description of Work: I had this company send out a monitoring unit and emergency alert bracelet and necklace to give my mother a secure feeling when she was at home by herself. They also sent a combination lock box that attaches to her door handle to put a house key in it.

The system works well and I've tested it twice so far and they answer very quickly after I press the button. The only reason I gave them a B overall rating (instead of A) is because something wasn't clear in their ad. The button one wears around the neck must be accompanied by a separate unit. That unit is what you talk to and you have be within 350 feet of it. This means you have to take that unit with you in your purse (or somewhere) when you leave your house. Would rather have everything in the unit you wear around your neck. I don't think this was clear in their ad (or even when I spoke with them about the deal).
