+ -1 moreFor my father they were fine but I changed services for him last year. It would be a little better for him. We never had an occasion to use the service. It was just one of those precautionary things. I would use them again if they were competitive. What I liked is the fact that it was a service that I needed for my father. I probably will not use them again because my father is using something that works a little bit better for him. It had nothing to do with the company. It's just strictly because of my dad.
Description of Work: It's an emergency service for elderly people so they can have the means to get help should they fall or have an accident.

My husband and I both feel comfortable, and hopefully will continue with them. They called immediately when my husband clicked the button accidently. The service is definitely excellent, very professional every time.

+ -1 moreSo far ok. It seems to work but it got caught in her luggage when we were moving from Dallas to back here on a little vacation. That set it off and the emergency people came out looking for her. Other than that one event. We haven't had to use it. The quality is fine as it is but I wish the pendant was smaller. Its about 2.5 x 1.25 inches and its hanging around her neck all the time which makes it less than perfect. From what I can tell the quality is fine. it is as advertised. I haven't had to use there customer care yet.
Description of Work: They do medical alert systems. They got us the pendent. If my wife falls down she hits it. they try to reach me first then my daughters and if not them then they call the emergency people. She hasn't got it on right this minute. She's in the chair watching t.v but when she's out moving around, i try to keep it on, like when I go to volunteer at the space museum, I make sure she has it on in the morning when I leave.

+ -1 moreI am supposed to wear it all the time and I don’t. I haven’t really had a good test of it, I haven’t fallen. I think we got it this Summer. They were very professional and they helped me set it up very easily and all of that. A couple times, I dropped it and they did call me to see if everything was okay, that was good. Another time I dropped and it didn’t set it off, and they told me why it didn’t, because it has to sense enough of a barometric pressure drop supposedly. Sooner or later I will wear it sometime.

+ -1 moreThere are two prices with them, when you finish you have to give it back, so you don't actually own it. You pay a one time fee for the device, then you pay so much a month on the service. I purchased an good one with the GPS, but you can get the lesser one, but it is only for the home surroundings. This one goes anywhere. They will take good care of you, right away. Wished it was cheaper, but it is what it is.

+ -1 moreI used them to get a medical alert for my grandfather who is 90 and lives alone. So far, it's been really good feedback. He dropped it once so that alerted them that he had fallen and they contacted him immediately. They don't come out to your house. They ship it to you and then you push the button and they talk you thru the set up. It has full GPS tracking so it tracks him when he leaves his home. When shopping for an alert system, we chose this one because it has fall alert. It also can take him anywhere. Most of them he had to be within so many feet of the receiver.

+ -1 moreWe have used their product for about a month, while we haven't made a whole lot of use for it, it's there for security and it seems to be working that regard. The pricing is a little higher than other choices, but this is an automatic response whenever somebody falls, which other people do not provide. They called to let us know that we need to test it, and they've been reminding us of things we need to do, and that is very helpful! It was delivered very quickly after we placed the order and is very easy to use.

Description of Work: This is about Medical Care Alert button. I got a Medical Care Alert button for my 94 year old mother. She was falling more and more and she lives in a rural area by herself. She has water front property. She walked to the edge of her lawn and slipped off on to the beach. it was about a 4 foot fall onto a drift log and a big rock. She broke 5 ribs and punctured her lung. She was so much pain that she couldn't move. She has no close neighbors and no one would have ever heard her on the beach. She pushed her Medical Care Alert button ( we got her one with GPS) and shortly the Medics were able to find her and get her to the hospital. She is back at home now and doing well. She would have never lived through this ordeal without that button. The people at Medical Care Alert have been awesome. They always respond immediately and are always are very kind and patient even when it is a false alarm. They check on her occasionally if they haven't heard from her just to make sure her button is working. It is a little pricey, but that is because Mom has 2 acres of property and she is a snow bird so we got the one with GPS. it was a very good choice considering what happened to her. There are less expensive ones for people that are more confined to their homes.
