+ -1 moreI am supposed to wear it all the time and I don’t. I haven’t really had a good test of it, I haven’t fallen. I think we got it this Summer. They were very professional and they helped me set it up very easily and all of that. A couple times, I dropped it and they did call me to see if everything was okay, that was good. Another time I dropped and it didn’t set it off, and they told me why it didn’t, because it has to sense enough of a barometric pressure drop supposedly. Sooner or later I will wear it sometime.

+ -1 moreThere are two prices with them, when you finish you have to give it back, so you don't actually own it. You pay a one time fee for the device, then you pay so much a month on the service. I purchased an good one with the GPS, but you can get the lesser one, but it is only for the home surroundings. This one goes anywhere. They will take good care of you, right away. Wished it was cheaper, but it is what it is.

+ -1 moreWe have used their product for about a month, while we haven't made a whole lot of use for it, it's there for security and it seems to be working that regard. The pricing is a little higher than other choices, but this is an automatic response whenever somebody falls, which other people do not provide. They called to let us know that we need to test it, and they've been reminding us of things we need to do, and that is very helpful! It was delivered very quickly after we placed the order and is very easy to use.

+ -1 moreI used them to get a medical alert for my grandfather who is 90 and lives alone. So far, it's been really good feedback. He dropped it once so that alerted them that he had fallen and they contacted him immediately. They don't come out to your house. They ship it to you and then you push the button and they talk you thru the set up. It has full GPS tracking so it tracks him when he leaves his home. When shopping for an alert system, we chose this one because it has fall alert. It also can take him anywhere. Most of them he had to be within so many feet of the receiver.

Description of Work: This is about Medical Care Alert button. I got a Medical Care Alert button for my 94 year old mother. She was falling more and more and she lives in a rural area by herself. She has water front property. She walked to the edge of her lawn and slipped off on to the beach. it was about a 4 foot fall onto a drift log and a big rock. She broke 5 ribs and punctured her lung. She was so much pain that she couldn't move. She has no close neighbors and no one would have ever heard her on the beach. She pushed her Medical Care Alert button ( we got her one with GPS) and shortly the Medics were able to find her and get her to the hospital. She is back at home now and doing well. She would have never lived through this ordeal without that button. The people at Medical Care Alert have been awesome. They always respond immediately and are always are very kind and patient even when it is a false alarm. They check on her occasionally if they haven't heard from her just to make sure her button is working. It is a little pricey, but that is because Mom has 2 acres of property and she is a snow bird so we got the one with GPS. it was a very good choice considering what happened to her. There are less expensive ones for people that are more confined to their homes.

+ -1 moreMy initial contact with their representatives was excellent. They were very polite, knowledgeable and professional. The equipment arrived in a timely manner. I test it once a month and always receive the same level of service as I did initially.
Description of Work: No work was done as this is an emergency medical response company. I signed up and received my call unit and signaling button. Fortunately, I haven't needed to use it as I've had no medical emergency since getting the equipment.

Description of Work: I contracted for a six month plan for Mefical Care Alert for my elderly mother. Luckily, she has not had to use their service but it does give my family price of mind since she lives alone. The salesperson was polite and professional without any hard sell and the equipment is fine

+ -1 moreordered this for my mom. she was not happy with the customer service and they stated they did not out source but when she call for weekly battery check she found it was outsourced. she also was not able to get anyone that was able to assist with any problems and she had to escalate it several times. she stated it was a false sense of security and decided she not longer wanted it. she returned the unit. waiting on refund.

+ -1 moreIt was ok. It was for my mom. I would not say it is great. Their cheapest service which is what we were going for was not what we should have signed up for. When she presses that button it makes a lot of beeps and stuff and she is 88 and it is very discerning to her. It rings, buzzes and then is silent. When I told them this they said I should upgrade the service which is not the best way. They could have told me up front or explained when she pressed the button and gets all this stuff. I would tell my friends to keep shopping.

+ -1 moreI like the fact that with Medical Care Alert, the voice of the assister can be heard not only through the base unit, but also through the pendant so the wearer can also be covered while out in the yard. We've received low battery alerts from the company, greatly appreciated, and help with replacing the batteries; we've also done periodic system checks with them, which they recommend, to make sure everything is working properly. We found out one night when my father accidentally engaged the pendant in his sleep just how well the system works in an emergency -- after three attempts by MCA to speak with my father via the base unit failed, EMTs were called, I was notified by phone; the EMTs and police entered Dad's house using the MCA lockbox; and since it was an accidental alert, by the time I arrived it was all safely over. But the response was immediate, according to plan, and showed us all just how well the system operates, and how well their personnel respond. Customer service has always been prompt and courteous both by phone and e-mail. I highly recommend Medical Care Alert.
Description of Work: It became necessary for my father to live alone and we were concerned for his safety -- after reading about the many medical alert systems available, we chose Medical Care Alert.
