Denny’s Landscaping on Currie Rd in Northville, MI is one of the most unprofessional outfits I have ever worked with in my life. Unless you are ready to hire a lawyer to make sure they fulfill their obligations and also to be a full-time babysitter during installation when/if they eventually show up to do your landscaping work, DON’T HIRE THEM The owner, Chris, doesn’t follow through on his contracts and has provided no communication as to when the 1 year warranty items will be replaced. Denny’s Landscaping has terrible business practices- no communication, and don’t fulfill their contractual obligations for follow-up of 1-year warranty items even though you have completed yours (paid in full). All of this has been documented and I will share our experience. We contracted with Denny’s landscaping in September of 2017 and there were promises of getting the job completed that fall. The job wasn’t started that fall and we should have taken this as a sign to not use them since there was zero communication on an actual start date. We made some modifications over the winter and finalized everything and contracted again with Denny’s at the end of March 2018. Denny’s Landscaping started the job on April 20, 2018 and finished the first week of May 2018. As with all contractor jobs there are always some issues and you need to pay attention to what the workers are doing and the quality of their work. Also, as with most landscaping jobs you typically get a 1 year warranty period for the landscaping installed which was included in Denny’s contract as well. Well before the 1-year warranty period expired I contacted the owner, Chris, on several occasions via multiple avenues (phone, voicemail, text message and email) from August 2018 through August 2019 to discuss some of the dead landscaping that needs replacement and have barely received any communication. I even contacted his father and former owner, Mike, hoping he would follow through and get Chris to reply. When I did finally talk to Mike he did tell me Chris would call me for follow-up but that never happened. To date we have barely received any communication and have gotten false plans via text and excuses with no communication or concrete plan on when they would replace the dead 10 ft spruce tree and the 6 ft arborvitaes that died well before the 1 year warranty period. Also, during the installation process of the landscaping they cut our invisible fence wire. They couldn’t find and repair the issue with the invisible fence but said they would pay for the repairs. We had it repaired and we emailed the invoice to the owner, Chris, for the $138.68. I never got a reply or response from Chris at Denny’s Landscaping after he received the invoice. The strange thing is their business location is within 1.5 miles from our home so they could easily take care of all these issues. We gave them many opportunities to rectify the situation but they have left us with no choice but to use Social Media and share our experience of their poor business practices. We have already paid over $550 to replace the Arbs by ourselves and had to borrow a family members truck. I would expect to replace the dead tree we will have to pay over $1000 to get the old one removed and replaced.
