Started out with a quote of $10K for the entire project which included every last piece, permit and part to get it up and running plus pulling county electrical permit and coordinating with our propane provider to run a gas line to the generator which also requires a mechanical permit. The electrician from Code showed up early and finished the job in one 8 hour day but Code did not organize the gas hook up with our provider so we had to put off the final inspection for about a month. After a couple of emails back and forth with Code it was obvious they were not going to help with the gas hook up so I coordinated and payed for that portion of the completion. The day the gas company ran the propane to the generator we had agreement from Code that they would complete the work by test running the generator. Did not show up and no phone call so we spent the day waiting for them. I emailed Code and they apologized for the SNAFU, the following day the electrician arrived in the late PM and we were done. Code stayed within the quote price and did all the electrical work very well but the lack of communication with our gas company and us was kind of irritating plus it cost a few more bucks than the quote. Overall were satisfied with code but wish they were more upfront about the details.

Description of Work: Came to my rental faster than any other area electrician could manage. Turned out the problem was quite minor, they fixed it very quickly for a fair price. If any of my renters have more electrical problems, these are now my go-to people.

Code requires payment in full before scheduling a date for the job. Office staff was friendly and helpful. Contractor showed up on time with the necessary tools and materials. The electrician paid attention to detail, was diligent and friendly. They took the time to do a nice cleanup job after they were finished. Job was finished on schedule and on budget. I will use them for my next electrical project.

Code electric does nice work but their communication is very lacking. The work done by the person they sent out was very well done. However, when I returned home all of the power was off (they had been working on the main electrical panel so this was not surprising) but there was no one in sight and no one from the company had called me to let me know what was going on. So not knowing much about electrical I called the company to see if it was ok to turn on the main breaker. The secretary had to call the foreman, who called me and said it was fine to turn the power on. He had no explanation for why no one had called me or why the power was off. The next day they were supposed to install the wiring and boxes for the fans. Again I came home and the work was half finished, with no one there. Also the switches were on the wrong wall. I called the company again and aparently the worker had had a family emergency and had to leave suddenly. However, no one from the company gave me a courtesy call letting me know that something had come up and they would be back tomorrow to finish the job. They just left the project half finished and left me wondering what was going on. As for the switches being in the wrong spot they said that it was not easy to get the switches where i wanted them so they put them across the room from where I wanted them. Had they called and asked I would have been more than willing to pay for the extra labor to put the switches where I wanted them (I wanted them by the front door, instead they are on the opposite wall, which means you have to walk through a dark room to turn the light on when you get home.... not exactly pratical). Overall, they failed to call me twice, leaving me to call them instead to figure out what was going on and they put switches in a very unconvient spot because they did not want to be bothered with calling me to ask if I was willing to pay extra to put them where i needed them. They do good work but their customer service is absolutely atrocious.
