They were very professional. Their attitude was very nice. It was just that he was expensive, and to me what he did and for that amount of time it should not have been that expensive.
I might use them on the future, depending on their prices.
The electrician screened my calls when I attempted to have him out to remedy his work - needless to say it was my job to do all the following-up - and I was only able to contact him by borrowing other peoples' phones. He would "have to get off the phone" and tell me he would call me back in twenty minutes. No call.
After costing me a lot of unnecessary time and energy, the electrician had the gall to ask me to walk around the house and help him test circuits. I agreed so that I could get him out of there faster. He told me that he had successfully labelled "every single one" of the circuits. I checked five minutes later and one of the circuits was not labelled. I confronted him about it and he told me that "at some point, you have to stand up and show the inspector the door." As if the inspector was the one I was paying, and as if it were my job to protect the electrician's shortcuts!
All in all, a bad experience. Not the sort of thing you expect from an adult.
I suppose I should disclose that I paid this guy in full before the work was inspected. I imagine that if I had withheld half of his payment until completion, which is the custom, he might have acted more professionally, and my experience might have resembled a little more closely those of the other reviewers on this site.
Mr West arrived on time for our appointment. On inspecting the fuse box he pointed out a dangerous exposed wire. We talked about placement of circut panels and moving the incomming service. We talked about outlets, switches and lights and appoxamitly how long
the job would take. He mentioned doing a simular house nearby but was not specific. He did not offer a written estimate or reference at this time. After contacting him later he did send a written estimate, but again was less than specific compared to others we had gotten, and for a job as big as this we were concerned about "additional cost'. We chose another contractor for this job, but would feel confident using and recomending National Electric for other/smaller projects.I made an appointment for the next day. Mr. West came out and told him wanted to get outlets working in living room, bathroom and hall.
I knew the fuse panel was a problem but not how hazardous it was. There were naked wiring and rusted connect points.
The next day the fuse box was replaced with a new main breaker panel with new breaker.
Next Mr. West found the faulty wiring and rewired living room and replacing outlets.
He found wiring problem in bathroom and hall then replaced wall switches.
All the work was done in a timely and professional manner.
All questions were answered and explained.
I was very pleased with the work.
