I disliked them quite strongly because they gave me some really erroneous quotes. They actually lied to me in person saying something wasn’t their fault, so they hadn’t done a bit of work. I had to have them come out and check a leak. It was really bad. Basically the section that they re roofed leaked, and it was a problem for me. When I had them come out to check it again, they actually failed to fix it and said that the leak wasn’t their fault. Overall, they showed up on time and did the work. Their price wasn’t horrible. My wife actually got sworn to by their owner, so they were utterly unprofessional. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone. I would not use them again in the future.

The person that installed them was great and on time.

Scheduled an appointment with the sales rep, K.C., and she came as scheduled. She was straightforward with the pricing as well as letting me know that it would be about 4 weeks before the work could be performed. I was called after just a few days and told the work would begin on Monday if that worked with our schedule. The contractor called me Friday to let me know the weather set them back 1/2 a day so he wouldn't be here until Monday afternoon and started the job as indicated. On Tuesday, the contractor backed over my well pipe while I was gone. My son was looking out the kitchen window and saw it happen. The contractor said nothing to me about it when I got home but did admit to it once I confronted him with the information my son gave me. The contractor stated that they "bumped" the pipe and after running the hose for a while it appeared that everything was fine. Wednesday we lost all water pressure. I called the well company and they discovered that the well head had been sheared off. During the time we were using the water, sand had gotten into the well and plugged up our water softener and tankless hot water heater. The water softener had to be replaced and the water heater needed to be taken apart and cleaned. Exteriors worked with us through all of this. They deducted all costs from our final bill so we had no additional out of pocket expense. Near the end of the job we added replacing the gutters; Exteriors sent a contractor out the next day who removed and replaced all gutters and downspouts. When all the work was complete, K.C. came back to the house to see the completed work and ensure everything was complete to our satisfaction. Would HIGHLY recommend Exteriors of Lansing!!

They were very polite, took their shoes out, if in and out they cover their shoes. They did a really nice job on the windows, the windows they had before were in bad shape and put in incorrectly because home misalignment and they had no problem putting them in. They even cleaned all windows after installation. They were here when they said they would be here. UPDATE - This review was before the new owners*

They came and did an okay job. It was not great but okay. I would tell others to call them well in advance because they did not come when they said they were going to. They took a long time to show up. The price was fair.

They quoted about $8000 for both siding and windows. The person who came out was very professional, personable and honest. They were forthcoming with prices as to what it did and why it cost that much. I was very impressed with the interaction I had with the lady who came out. It was a really good interaction. However, we didn’t use them because we got a quote that was cheaper from a different place. I would definitely recommend Exteriors Of Lansing. Everything about them was excellent. I would certainly go with them for a quote in the future.

"Exteriors" was immediately responsive to my request for a bid on the combined roofing/siding replacement job mentioned above. I called to reschedule our initial face to face appointment due to bad weather. This was no problem. The day of the rescheduled meeting I was contacted by the company's owner, Tim Booth, who informed me that the person originally set to meet with me was delayed and that he would sub in for her, which again was no problem. Exteriors of Lansing is a well established and very visible company in the Lansing area. Correspondingly, Mr. Booth appeared extremely knowledgeable and customer-oriented. This was obvious in our first meeting. Mr. Booth provided a bid to me the same day, actually coming to my home about twelve miles away to deliver the bid and samples of the vinyl siding product they use. Mr. Booth emphasized that he included a heavier grade of siding than I originally requested in the bid at same cost as a customer sales incentive. Mr. Booth also provided a folio of construction material specs and some consumer information. The folio itself did not included previous customer references or contractor credentials. I assume those would have been available on request. Mr. Booth's bid was among the lowest I received for comparable work and materials. He also offered an impressive 30 "transferable once" warranty on workmanship. Tim seemed very eager to undertake the job and was forthright in expressing his desire to do so. He also took extra care to follow-up a few days later and ensure that all my questions had been answered. Ultimately, we decided to contract with a competing business only because of my prior knowledge of their workmanship, their ability to price match and the fact that they were located closer to where I reside. Truly, this was a difficult choice. I found Mr. Booth to be courteous and professional in all aspects of our interaction during the bidding process. I could tell that he truly wanted me as a customer and I would not hesitate to contact Exteriors of Lansing again as I consider future exterior remodeling, or to recommend them to others in need of similar services.

The representative came out exactly on time. However, the representative did not bring a ladder, or wasn't wiling to get a ladder out of the vehicle. And did not want to use the ladder we had. So the crawl spaces were not examined to determine what needed to be done. Additionally, the estimate was $4000 more than either of the other two estimates (more than triple the other two estimates). The focus seemed to be on maximizing the energy star tax credit, without recognizing that it is better to spend $1700 and get a smaller credit than to spend $5700 just to get a credit that maxes out at $1500.
