During the recent heat wave our ancient a/c went out and we were to have a business party. Johnson's responded to our distress call almost immediately. Unfortunately the compressor was dead. But, Johnson's found time to replace the unit in 102+ heat and never acted anything but professional as they sweltered in the heat. They came back the next day to make sure it was cooling properly and our guests were comfortable. I greatly appreciate their knowledge, professionalism, and old school work ethic - they will be servicing our unit for many years to come.

I have a hot water boiler furnace. Most companies will not work on them, and they do.  They have come out to the house at 3:00 in the morning when it broke, and was spraying water all over the basement. We just redid the basement, and he ran all the lines for the air conditioner. Most insurance companies will not insure you when you tell them you have hot water boiler heat, but they will. He rebuilt my air conditioner unit for me. I would recommend them highly.

I like that when I have called them in the middle of the night, they have shown up at 2 o’clock or 3 o’clock in the morning.  They have done work for me in the past.  I have a boiler and they are the only ones that do boilers around here.

There were problems.  Four years ago Johnson replaced the coolant in my air conditioner.  It ran out again after two summers.  The next company spent all day  finding and repairing a leak.  (They are no longer with American Home Shield.) Johnson was assigned this summer when I had problems with the AC again.  I told him that I did not want to simply replace coolant a third time.  The problem was that he argued with me and refused to come out unless I allowed him to do a leak test.  Keep in mind that I never said he could not do a leak test.

The real issue is that coolant is ridiculously expensive for older ACs and AHS now requires homeowners to pay for it.  My position was that I should not be replacing coolant every two summers and that a permanent repair or replacement was needed.  Johnson told me that no way would AHS replace my AC.  Keep in mind that this is what a home warranty is for.

Bottom line.  I narrowed it down to an electrical problem.  He was happy to come out to fix it then because electrical problems are easier than coolant leaks.  This whole process took about two weeks.
