The two guys for this service showed up within the time frame provided and did a nice job cleaning all components of the gas furnace and checking for proper operation. Responsive to questions. Would use them again.

Overall, I was unimpressed with the deal purchased from Angie's list and the service performed from Detroit City Sweep, LLC. I was contacted at about 8:30 am on Saturday, October 4th by the office reminding me that "Dean" the technician would arrive between 1 and 4 pm as scheduled. The technician arrived at about 3:45 pm, as my wife and I were outside doing work in the driveway. He approached us and said hi. I was expecting something a little more professional, like an introduction with his name and company. He didn't appear to be wearing any sort of uniform, other than the writing on the truck, that I could have used to identify him as someone from the company. We had a problem when we first used our fireplace. It would start and then after 20 minutes turn off. I tightened the screws below that seemed loose, but I was unaware if that was the cause, that's why we scheduled a professional to check it out. Upon walking in, first glance at the unit, he advised that it was really old, he has only seen a few of these, and he does a lot of them and that it was most likely original to the house and at the end of its life. He removed one ceramic log, visually inspected the burner, opened the access panel underneath and turned the pilot up. He mentioned that a screw was missing to adjust the airflow to the burner valve. The valve has rubber o rings and they deteriorate over time and eventually leak. From a safety perspective, he asked if we could smell carbon monoxide and that it smelled like rotten eggs. (I assume he meant the smell of natural gas, as carbon monoxide is odorless and colorless.) He also recommended a carbon monoxide detector to protect ourselves when using such an old unit. We already have two in the room. He stated that these types of fireplace units are very inefficient and that we were throwing our money away if we were using it to heat the room. New units range from $1,800 (un-vented) installed to $4,000 installed (direct vent model), according to Dean. As for the concern we called them about, I told him that I tightened the screws and he said, that probably fixed it. Upon inspection of the wiring underneath, he noticed two additional wires headed off to another location in the fireplace that was most likely a safety switch with an O2 sensor that turns the unit off when it gets too hot. What's really frustrating is that we paid for the following that were on the Angie's Deal. - Inspection of the fireplace for safe operation - Completed - Thorough cleaning of all major parts such as the burner system, firebox, gas logs, pilot assembly, thermocouples, burner pan, etc - Not completed with any tools, cloths, solvents, brushes or machines - Thorough cleaning and reconditioning of all glass work, removal of old rocks, sand and vermiculite (embers), and re- installation of existing logs. - Many of these do not apply I expected that he would vacuum it out or something, and it looks the same as it did when he arrived. I appreciate the safety inspection, however I could have called the local utility company and they would have told us that for free. We certainly had someone with many years of experience show up for the cleaning. However, I expected to hire a professional and don't feel that they delivered what was promised in the Angie's List Deal. We will not use Detroit City Sweep, LLC again.

Not much to say...... They arrived on time, worked diligently for about 3 hours, Removed old Gutter Helmets and thoroughly cleaned all the gutters and downspouts. (Removing the Gutter Helmets added to the price. Would have been about $200 without that extra labor.) They also took away all the removed Gutter Helmet pieces. The guys were friendly and efficient. I will call them again.

I was very happy with them. They came in and they did a good job. They suggested something else that I needed and why I needed it. I let them do it and I like them. I will call them back this time to have a tune-up. I didn't do any comparison and I just wanted the job done. I got their name online and I was happy with them. I felt it was a fair price. They were here when they said they would be. They were very professional. I would use them again.

Did an overall outstanding job of cleaning and adjusting. Forgot to turn things back on so I had to do it. Would recommend they test it all out so the homeowner doesn't have to turn things back on. Had to turn on our blower and our switch to make the remote starter work. Kinda important since I am 80 and not very agile anymore. Follow up was awesome too. Over all would recommend

They were very polite, careful and professional as they went about their work. They cleaned the fireplace, the grate and the glass enclosure. They removed the remnants of an old damper that was left when it was replaced. They advised me of what woods were best to burn. I am very happy with the service and have requested their return next year.

Did a thorough cleaning of the chimney and the fireplace opening. Inspected the brickwork, mortar, chimney caps, flashing and flue liner. Did not try and sell me anything I did not need. They were very neat, no mess or dust at all. I will definitely use again.

It was a great experience. I called for a chimney cleaning appointment (my plumber found a carbon monoxide leak coming out of my water heater), and they were at my house within 2 hours. Very professional. Cleaned chimney, and suggested a liner for my chimney. Not high pressure. I would definitely recommend!

These guys earn money the old fashioned way, they work for it! Most companies today try to blow out gutters with blowers etc or so called "special tools". The only way to really get gutters clean is by hand! Wonderful service, cleaned up the mess from the gutters, could not have done a better job myself, and did not cost an arm and a leg! The service was fine. They were nice and they recommended some additional work which I anticipated. They did not pressure me into any of additional services.

They did a thorough check, cleaning… needs new gasket, estimate of $175. They were very professional. I learned a lot about the unit, glass was installed backwards, they will clean it, install new gasket. They don't recommend getting a new glass.

They very responsive and very great, but I didn’t need the deal because my neighbor helped me out.

This company is excellent! Ashley was very friendly and helpful when setting up appointments and answering my questions. The men that came out called ahead of time to let me know they were about 30 minutes away. They were constantly keeping me informed and showed me everything they did. They did a great job of explaining everything and showed me pictures/diagrams so I had a better understanding of where the problem was and how they were going to fix it. Everyone was very friendly. They cleaned everything up. I would highly recommend this company.

We received excellent service. Our technician was very experienced and professional. He was very helpful and spent a great deal of time teaching troubleshooting and maintenance. We will hire this company again soon to service our natural gas fireplace.
