2 gentleman arrived, they had called befor ethey arrived, and got to work. They used shoe booties, a tarp on my floor and didn't leave any mess. They seemed efficient. It didn't take nearly as long as I had expected.

The workman was on time courteous, and friendly. He was neat and kept the area clean and did not leave a mess behind. I was very satisfied wth his work. He also reviews with me how the fireplace worked so that I would be comfortable using it.

Received phone call on 10/26 to confirm appointment and call 20 mins prior to Steve and assistant arrival on 10/27. I was asked several questions concerning the use of my fireplace and any known issues before they conducted an inspection of the work area. Steve took time to thoroughly explained the necessity for annual cleaning to aid in safe operation and lighting of the fireplace. I was also provided a copy of the inspection which detailed all areas inspected. In addition to having my gas fireplace serviced, I inquired about scheduling to have my chimney swept. Steve and assistant was able to complete this service during the same appointment in which I received an additional discount for multiple services. Both services were completed within one hour.

Excellent. The gentlemen were professional, knowledgeable, performed the service on my fireplace well. This is a new house to be, but is 74 years old. The flue hasn't been cleaned in many years and requires more service than a simple sweep. Steve documented before and after photos of the chimney, explained the next step needed and I look forward to working with this company again.

I had Detroit City Sweep come to my house to do an inspection and tune-up of my gas log fireplace. They arrived on time and went right to work. They put on shoe covers before entering my home and laid down a big sheet in front of the fireplace to keep any dirt and soot off my carpet. Steve and Jason went right to work, removing and cleaning each log. They inspected the gas line and pilot light to make sure they were working properly. I told Steve I was having a problem keeping the pilot light lit over an extended period of time. He noticed my damper didn't have a clip to keep it partially open and allow oxygen in and the flame to vent out. That was causing a small build-up of carbon monoxide which was extinguishing the flame. I was planning to purchase a new damper clip, but while vacuuming out all the old rocks, dirt, and sand, Steve found the damper clip tucked away in the corner of the fireplace. He re-installed the clip for me and then added new sand and rocks. He restacked my clean logs into the fireplace and made sure everything was still working fine. Jason stayed inside and cleaned the glass on my fireplace doors and Steve went onto my roof to make sure everything looked good up there. He noticed some masonry cracks on the crowns of both my fireplace chimney and furnace vent chimney. He also noticed both chimney caps were rusting and the flashing was bad on the furnace chimney. All of these issues were cosmetic and wouldn't interfere with running my fireplace or furnace safely. He took great high quality pictures to show me the issues he was talking about. I received a very fair quote on what it would cost for them to fix these items and he told me the concrete they use to fix the chimney crowns is crack resistant and the new chimney caps are stainless steel and have lifetime warranties. I was very pleased with the service and will be calling them in the Spring to do the suggested repairs and will have them out to do another fireplace tune-up next fall.

Everything went well starting with the first visit. Rob was our technician and was very easy to work from the get go. The work was performed a few weeks later (had a rain delay on the first scheduled appt) and everything looked great, and most importantly there was no deviation from the original price quoted. Chimney looks great and I would recommend them to friends/family.

No problems. Vacuumed fire pit, removed old artificial ashes and replaced same. Cleaned logs and reset them. Cleaned thermocouple and pilot light. Lit fire and tested controls. Provided instructions for lighting logs and shutoff. Cleaned doors and door glass.

Visit went great. This unit has not been used in over 25 years. He did all of the above and kept the house clean. A big tarp was placed in front before the job was begun. I asked for and received an estimate on a new flue less unit one that can be used with a remote. I would highly recommend this company. In fact if we decide to switch to a new gas log unit I would definitely go with them.

Steven from Detroit City Sweep called when they were about 45 minutes out. They arrived at the exact time of appointment. They were professional, curteous and knew there stuff. They replaced the sand,stone, and embers. I would certainly recommend this company.

We purchased this as an Angie's special because our gas fire insert is over 10 years old & we felt it needed a look at. The provider did all that, advised us we could add insulation to the old firebox to conserve more energy, advised us about some small fiberglass embers that should not be part of our unit, answered any questions we had, cleaned, and left everything as you'd want it left. We were pleased with the service.

Were prompt in calling to schedule the appointment, and came to the house within the promised 9 AM - 1 PM appointment time on a Saturday. The owner Steven and his assistant Chris were very professional and through in their inspection and cleaning of our gas fireplace. We were impressed with how nice the fireplace burned and looked after putting new embers and sand on the base of the fireplace. A request to better hide the lower burner was done right away. The protective glass has never looked better. Would recommend their service to anyone.

Well, very informative, discovered gas line not hooked up but can still use fireplace. Gave education on best ways to maintain the fireplace

The crew came in a little bit (15 minutes) behind the time planned but I was informed about that delay earlier. The crew of two (Rob & Chris?) worked very carefully in moving all logs and stones from the fireplace and thoroughly cleaned the fireplace plus unclogged the pilot ignition. The fireplace works properly and looks great now!

Just what I needed done. Great to work with and very professional.

I was expecting an earlier service day. Since the provider could not accommodate my request I will do it myself and no need for the service.
