He is very good to work with and we would choose him again if we ever have too.
Other Qualities:
He was very patient and prompt.
He would call back if i left him a text message.
His team is a very professional. They would clean up every day after work for 3 weeks.
The estimator, Abe, came out on January 31, 2014. We chose the carpet and paid him in full. He carefully examined the areas where the work would be done. I pointed out that there were several large pieces of furniture, including a canopy bed. He wrote on the order form that price included disassembly and reassembly of all furniture, moving and replacing it. Abe saw the furniture, and made no comments other than to say it wouldn't be a problem. Installation was finally set for March 24, after being delayed by a blizzard. I had removed all smaller furniture from the areas as well as any decorative items to make things more efficient. Two installers showed up within the time agreed upon, but they were very discourteous. They did not introduce themselves, entered the home and started up the stairs to the second floor without wiping, removing, or covering their outdoor shoes, and groaned when I suggest they remove or cover their footwear. Upstairs, I showed them the work area and they began removing the mirrored doors of a large walk-in closet. Eventually, they came to tell me they couldn't take the bed apart. I suggested they begin in another area of the upstairs while I disassembled it, but the lead installer, Gus, scoffed and implied that a woman couldn't do that, and refused to start somewhere else until the bed was disassembled. To make a long story shorter, he decided to leave, put the mirrored doors back up, and was out of there in a few minutes. Within 15 minutes of the time he left I had the bed apart, and promptly called the dispatcher who was unable to contact the installers. (When disassembling the bed, I noticed a piece of wood had been chipped out at the point where they had been attempting to disassemble the frame.) When I returned upstairs I discovered that a large corner has been broken off one mirrored door, and a chip had been broken out of another. Interestingly enough, all the mirror fragments were gone...except two smaller ones embedded in the carpet, indicating that the installers had picked up the pieces and attempted to conceal the damage. (It may also have been the reason they were so quick to leave!) I called the store again and eventually spoke with Mike, who is apparently in charge of installers. He came out that afternoon to look at the damage, agreed to repair it, and arranged for other installers to come beginning the next day. That meant I had to schedule another full day at home. The second set of installers did good work, however as of now (three weeks later) our doors are still not repaired. I had to hound Mike to have a glass company come here. When it did ( on April1, 8 days after the event) I was told they couldn't take the doors for repair until Mike authorized it. We hounded Mike further, and eventually the doors were picked up on April 10. The glass shop said it might be another two weeks before they are repaired. Mike blames the glass company, but had his installer not caused the damage, and had Mike sent the glass company on the day the damage was done instead of a week later, had Mike promptly authorized the repair (which will cost more than $300) the doors might be fixed. Currently, our entire closed is wide open and the mirrored doors we use for dressing are not there. The entire affair was very unprofessional, particularly the installers' act in trying to conceal the damage and Mike's delays. I had been told carpet installation should take one day, but had booked out a few additional hours the second day just in case. As it was, I wasted the first day, devoted the whole of the second day AND half of a third day to this. The upstairs was in disarray for several days, and we are still not made whole. I would never buy from this company again, it has been a headache.
