I began having issues with the cabinets after 3 years. The paint started to delaminate from the cabinets. First they blamed me, but begrudgingly agreed to replace 3 of the doors. The first time they came to replace them, the brought 2, one was the wrong size (August). The second time (October) they were supposed to replace both, but only had one. The entire rest of the door started to delaminate AND the board around the stove was bubbling (December). I was ASSURED by Justin that he is in charge of customer satifation and he will STAY ON IT. (insert eye roll) They agreed to replace all the doors (30). They came out in February. Did not have the stove surround and were missing 4 doors. They replaced the doors they had. Crickets from them about the other doors. I called in April and set up an appointment for the remainder. They were a NO SHOW. Justin is NOT STAYING ON TOP OF it. My kitchen is still not fixed. I called May 26th for update, now May 31st. No call back, No update. They are not standing behind their product.

From design to demo to reconstruction, the quality, and customer service was superb. Kurtis created a project plan/timeline and kept to it. The project was no small matter. The kitchen and dining room were gutted including flooring. Carpeting was taken up in the living room, major hallway, home office, and 3 closets. With the exception of the master, and guest bedrooms, the entire first floor was involved. 3/4” hardwood flooring was installed throughout. New cabinets, up to the ceiling, were installed. An enormous pantry was created. Two level soft-close rollouts in all lower cabinets, and five soft-close rollouts in the pantry. All doors and drawers were soft-close as well. The kitchen was expanded by 3 feet, giving us more counter space. Extra electrical outlets were created, the ceiling lights were moved to accommodate the expanded space, and converted to LED. New quartz countertops, and a HUGE under mount sink completed the job. Kurtis was really good at coordinating the various subcontractors, and their own employees. The project was not entirely painless, but the few glitches that came up were quickly and successfully resolved. Communication throughout the entire project was excellent. It would appear that I could go on longer. I won’t, but I hope I’ve given you a sense of how well this went, and how thrilled we are with the finished product. Too bad I can’t post photos here. Our thanks to Jake (designer), Scott (project manager), and Kim (project coordinator). Well done

Enjoyed working with Adrian from Clarkston location. He was very patient, gave helpful advice and answered questions honestly. Once the install teams started each contractor that entered our home was respectful and did an excellent job. Our Project Manager, Scott Curd, went above and beyond keeping us informed, following up on questions, returning calls promptly. Truly a pleasure to work with.

Excellent service. Starting with the great design done by Adrian, designer. Adrian was working hard creating not just the best design possible but also the most cost efficient option. Todd, project manager, was very knowledgeable and professional; he had overseen project from design to completion to make sure that everything was designed, ordered and installed correctly. I also worked with Kim, project scheduler, who was very responsive and available to help in any schedule changes if it was needed. Kevin and his team, installers, were very professional and knew exactly what had to be done. Installers team did great and quality cabinet installation. With Kurtis's promotions of free installation and backsplash, I could afford better quality cabinets. I am glad I chose Kurtis for my kitchen remodeling. I definitely would recommend Kurtis in Clarkston.

The cabinets are well built. Our construction date was pushed back several times, but Kurtis held the cabinets until we were able to have them installed - approximately 4 months. They were so helpful and did not rush us or ask for full payment until delivery.

I feel it is appropriate that I respond to a comment provided by Kurtis. They indicated in a prior review that they contacted me 36 times on a construction project and that a project manager showed up 7 times. Allow me to clarify - your demolition crew showed up and was preparing to tear out items that were to remain - a failure on Kurtis to properly communicate. Your disposal company damaged a retaining wall in our yard. The plumber placed a tub on site, that had to be removed by an upset tiler - another failure of Kurtis to communicate. The plumber returned and was not prepared time wise to reinstall the tub - since no one communicated that it had been removed. A carpet company came into our home and worked on the wrong carpeting. I could go on and on. I suspect your records are flawed. The only calls I received from Kurtis were in response to the many issues I (Not your project manager) identified at this project. The trades were very apologetic to the lack of management on the site. It is very troubling that Kurtis does acknowledge their problems and work to remediate. A good project management company would be PROACTIVE. Incidentally, I did get my warranty work complete after multiple calls. The scheduler indicated that their was a delay due to procuring material. The worker, when he arrived, indicated that he needed to go to Home Depot to get the needed materials. He did a great job with the material he picked up the day he completed the work.

Adrian, the designer was great to work with - always professional and just the right personality to work with on a major project. He had great ideas, but not too pushy. However, once the design was done and the deposits paid - the process quickly went downhill. First, you must understand - that when you hire Kurtis - you get a great designer, but you must function as the project manager. The trades they hire are very good - but the coordination and project management is lacking. We had workers show up with no directions on demolition (lucky I was there to insure the right items were torn out)... plumbers and tilers show up with the site not prepared, trades ask for your direction on work to be completed or coordination .... the project manager blames the schedulers..... If you are not on top of the project and communicating back to the schedulers, you will have delays and incorrect installations. I did use Kurtis for an earlier project on a kitchen and was satisfied - but they have somehow lost their way. Maybe they have gotten too big too fast and are unable to effectively manage the workload. The schedulers seem crazy busy. If you are hiring them - expect a great design, good trades - but a job that you will need to manage. You may be better off hiring someone else or contracting the work yourself since you will need to coordinate anyway. The bathroom was beautiful, but when you hire Kurtis you are paying a premium for them to manage the project. They guarantee their work. With my kitchen, I had an issue and they were immediately responsive. I have communicated several times commencing over a month ago on grout that is cracking in the bathroom and have yet to receive a call to schedule the repair.
Response from Kurtis Kitchen & Bath - Clarkston
"I am very sorry to hear you are not pleased with your overall experience with Kurtis. I have thoroughly reviewed your project and found the following: Project start date 8/1/16, completion 9/13/16. This is a bit longer than we would prefer to see, however with custom templated shower doors the template process cannot begin until the project is near complete. Once templated, the door takes 2 weeks (or more) to build then install. All of our staff and subcontractors are supplied with comprehensive plans for the project and instructions to contact the project manager should there be any guidance needed. I apologize if any of our contractors or employees sought guidance or clarification from you on this project, I will speak to each one to ensure proper procedures are followed. Our records indicate that there were 36 times you were contacted by us during the construction process, your project manager was on site a total of 7 times, or once per week. This is generally more than sufficient to effectively manage a bathroom project. You are correct, our schedulers are very busy and as a result your service to correct the cracked grout was delayed but completed on 2/21/17. I apologize for this as well and cannot offer any acceptable reasons for the delay."

Very easy to work with, excellent pricing and customer service!

Adrian Aninos at the Clarkston branch has been wonderful - answering all of our last minute questions and providing much needed advice.     Have had other quotes and Kurtis came in well under any prices we had been given.

We will certainly be going with Kurtis again in the future when we remodel our bathrooms.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

First of all the designer, Adrian Aninos was a pleasure to work with. He really listens to your wants and needs in planning your design. There were some issues that came up, which is usual for a remodel, that were handled professionally. The finished remodel was just what we wanted and we are very pleased. Friends and family love our new kitchen.
We have now gone back to Kurtis for designs for 2 bathroom remodels. Excited to see the plans that Adrian Aninos has come up with.

We found the design process to be very enjoyable.  Our designer, Adrian, helped steer us through the details successfully, and had a number of suggestions that we incorporated into the design. We also found the project management team to be extremely professional and courteous.  When we ran in to an issue with shower tile delivery, communication with us about schedule impact and what to expect was exceptional. The same can be said for the installation team members that came to the house for each portion of the project. This was a fairly small project, so we had a number of installation folks in the house over the duration of just a few weeks.  Each one was prompt, courteous, and professional.
We are very pleased with our finished project, and would not hesitate to recommend Kurtis' services to anyone looking for a quality remodel.

We had done a previous kitchen/bar with Kurtis in 2010 for our lower level and had a good experience. Therefore, when it came tie to redue our laundry we decided to use them again.  We purchased Kraftmaid Cabinets in both instances.  This recent experience we used the services of Adrian Aninos as our previous designer had left the company.  He is also an architect.  This gave him a superior knowledge of the design aspects of our project.  He has also worked in the building industry so was familiar with the installation aspect.  This was important as our room was an irregular shape, and we were wanting to utilize the space for a multitude of uses.

The only problem we had was with the cabinets .  For our prior job we ordered them with a praline finish and they were beautiful.  This time we added an onyx glaze.  This is where we encountered problems with the quality of the finish.  The glazing was very  inconsistent across the various components. Adrian addressed our problems in a timely and professional manner, ultimately having the regional representative from Masco (parent company of Kraftmaid) to see the job.  He recognized the problems and ultimately they were resolved.  The only thing I would say is if you want a glazed finish order a few pieces first and see if you are ok with the finish. We are very picky and what was not acceptable to us may be to you. The cabinets are very well constructed

They did not do the work to the specifications that I asked for. It took about six weeks and they stated it would take two weeks. They did shoddy work. They charged a really high price for the work that they did. I would definitely not use them again or recommend them to anyone.
