I just want to indicate that the area code to their business telephone number (248), rather than the local area code number (989), was a little misleading but it is my understanding that this is a local business. However, it is also my understanding that they do travel for their work at times.
Description of Work: We contacted First Response Restoration to do some insurance work related to flooding that had occurred in the second story of our tri-level home. It had impacted both the second story and the basement, causing considerable damage. Brad Zuraw and Chris Huizar came out within hours of my call. They went through the house and assessed the damage. They made some initial recommendations and indicated they would contact the insurance company to begin a dialogue about the issues they discovered. They were very confident, pleasant and professional throughout this and all subsequent contacts. They kept checking in with me to make sure I was okay with what they were doing. I had dreaded both the "demolition" as well as the reconstruction. I've been through remodeling enough and the mess continues to haunt me -- and don't get me started about the "projected completion date." However, they very quicky (and neatly) tore out the damaged materials. They then contracted with an excellent carpenter, Steve Ellis (for whom I will write a separate report), to restore our home. I was very impressed at how quickly the damaged flooring and dry wall were removed. Of course we needed to allow time for drying, but the mess and inconvenience were surprisingly minimal. They took great care to protect the contents of the room from any drywall dust. They dried everything well and sprayed for mold. They were exceptionally thorough, surprisingly quick and actually did much more than what was expected, leaving the house in better condition than before the flood. You could tell that they took great pains to go the extra mile and to clean up thoroughly after themselves. They worked worked seamlessly with the carpenter -- communicating well between each other. I HIGHLY recommend First Response Restoration. In fact, after our experience with them, we have asked them to do another job for us. We have an outbuilding that had been sadly neglected. It needs to be gutted, sprayed for mold, and who knows what else! We asked for a bid that we found to be very reasonable given the extent of the job. Brad and Chris were ready to get started on it right away before they began another job. However, as I was not yet ready, it will be a few weeks (or whenever they are free again) that we will have them do this work. Given their work in our home, I am confident we will be just as happy with this job but will be sure to let you all know the details once it as been completed.
