Description of Work: LeafFilter gutter protection installed

Description of Work: Hired Jeff Dompierre (Michigan Gutter Protection) to install windows in our shed. We contracted for the job in May 2013. Paid Jeff an up-front amount to purchase the windows and do the installation. The contractor ordered the windows (5 of them). They were custom ordered and we were told that they would arrive in 6 weeks. After approximately 2 months, the contractor had not contacted us about our order. It was very difficult to contact him (we would call, get his anwering machine, and he would not return our calls. The contractor finally got in touch with us and told us that a problem had occurred - when his supplier had lifted the windows from the shelf on which they were stored, he had dropped them and they all broke. He said that he needed to reorder and that it would be another 6 weeks. In the meantime, the contractor had some other miscellaneous work to do. He asked for an additional up-front sum to do the work and we paid it. Another 8 weeks went by - it was now October - and we still did not have the windows. The contractor finally came in late October and installed 2 of the 5 windows. We continued to ask the contractor when he was going to finish the window installation (remaining 3 windows) and had problems getting him to commit to an installation date. It was finally November and the weather turned cold. Still no window installation. We finally gave up and filed a complaint with the better business bureau. We continued to try to resolve the breach of contract - we asked for the contractor to drop off our windows - since he said he had them. He did not bring us the windows we had paid for. We tried to resolve the situation - however, the contractor said that he would not give us the windows nor would he complete the agreed upon work unless we negotiated a new contract and paid him the remaining balance of the contract up-front. During our negotiations, Jeff told us that he had sent the remaining windows back to his supplier after we filed our complaint - this is questionable since during our negotiations he kept saying he had our windows. When we met for the last time to try to resolve the work issue (February 2014), Jeff said he had not completed our work because it was not a priority to him - he had higher paying jobs that were more important. All in all, we had a miserable experience with this contractor and he never did complete our work. We will have to sue him to recoup our losses.
