This company seems very dishonest. First of all they tend to do suggest repairs / work that's not required and over charge for the stuff they do. Had used them once to replace the Sprinkler valves and the box housing the valves. They put a broken box that houses the valves and charged me for it. When I contacted the owner, she told to me that she would send someone to fix it but never sent anyone. When I contacted them the second time, I was told the same however no one came to replace the box We have an elderly couple as a neighbor and they happened to use them once for sprinkler start up and they too had the same experience. They told them that a back flow prevention valve had to replaced for which they charged them insanely high price. I had the same part replaced a year before from a honest and reliable sprinkler company and Irrigation Doctor charged more than double the price that I had been charged for the same part. So it's best to stay away from this company

I have now learned that this company is rated F by the Better Business Bureau. Based on my experience, stay as far away as possible and find a reputable company. They charged me $818.00 for a start-up which they said required substantial plumbing work. The next day I checked with the Oakland County Water Commission, and they informed me that they had recently inspected my system, which they said was in perfect working order, that this work was totally unnecessary, and that the company was simply trying to drum up business. Use at your peril.

I called multiple times in August and September of 2016 after receiving a mailer at my home. I never received a return call. Subsequently, my neighbors chose to use them for some repairs I agreed to pay for after we tore things up installing our pool. I was not home when they began work, wish I was. I arrived about 30 minutes after they began work. I informed him I was paying for repairs only. In the end, my neighbor was told it was necessary to replace the entire zone (and add to it) that HAD 4 mist heads providing more than adequate coverage that happened to have 2 damaged heads and 20ft of damaged 1 inch poly pipe as feed. Even IF this was, for some reason a necessity, wouldn't it be best to turn the water on and check the current coverage?! Not according to these guys. This was replaced with 70ft (beginning to end of driveway) with 10 new mist heads. I used to install sprinkler systems, but even if you knew nothing about them, do the math. 70ft and 10 sprinklers along their driveway on the narrow side (they own 3 to 4 feet of grass on that end). I suggested SST nozzles (side strip nozzles) and he felt he could adequately do the job with 8 heads. Still WAY overkill, may even cause drainage problems. We were clearly sold a bill of goods that was not needed or necessary. Because of the neighbor situation, I negotiated the bill and reluctantly paid it for my neighbor, who knew nothing about sprinklers and was clearly over sold during a fairly simple repair job. I should have fixed it myself. I asked for an itemized invoice. Unreal. Didn't realize crimp clamps (which should not be used) cost $1 each. I can buy a box of 100 at home depot for $15. Heads were over $35ea and sell retail for about $5ea. I still can't believe the sticker shock I had. $575 and I had other estimates for $275. Had the neighbor been more flexible and willing to wait until Dec 2 when I had the other company scheduled, this would never have been an issue. I learned a lesson. I was told by the repair guy the reason they never returned my calls in August/September was because their phones were damaged in a storm and out of service for a couple weeks. When I began asking about cost consideration, I was told coupons expired three weeks earlier. Come to find out, he is part of the family that owns the company, I asked if there was someone at the office I could talk to and suddenly a discount of $50 was offered. Incidentally, the costs above did not include the winterization that was billed separately. While they were still onsite, I mentioned I had not heard of the company other than the mailer I had received. I was told by the repair guy they rarely work in Plymouth or Canton. I think I now know why.

If you are looking for quality service, dependability and a company that keeps their word, beware of this company. We have been loyal to this company for 4 years, despite all the problems we’ve had. Their crews are inconsistent; some are good and others are poor. We have had several service experiences where we had to have a second crew come out because of the poor job the first crew did. The follow-up crew even acknowledged that to us. They are not dependable in keeping appointments. We have had several times when they missed a 4 hour promised arrival window after we had planned our day around them. The result was to reschedule and plan another day around them. They didn’t even call to warn us of their delay. But this summer was the final straw. We had them come out to start our irrigation system, and were delighted when they said everything was fine. But the very first time we used the system, it was clear that several heads were not working correctly and others were watering the street and patio more than the lawn. We scheduled another service date and the crew found 6 heads needing replacement and a major leak that the first crew did not even notice. Although this crew worked hard and appears to have corrected everything, they refused to honor their own discount coupon that we received in the mail from their company. I called the owner, who apologized and said she would compute the difference and send us a refund. After 3 phone calls and more than 4 weeks, we still have not received a refund. The last time I checked with the owner, she promised she would take care of it THAT day. The was 9 days ago and still no refund or explanation. Their best asset is their low cost compared to other companies. But, I guess you get what you pay for. I have given up on this company. I could not in good conscience recommend them to anyone.

They showed up and Turn on the sprinklers, they said that vacuum breaker leaking, need to be replaced. before I agreed, they had got it done and wanted to charged me $110 dollars + turn on fee. I disagreed, I wanted them to do the estimate first. So they wanted me go inside the house to tuen off the water. While I was away, they took everything off and handed me two small pieces. They wanted to charged me $59, said that they stayed here for quite some time. I told them I only agreed with turn on fee, so I paid them $35 dollars. They put some words on the invoice and handed in to me, and then left. After they left, I found out on the invoice they specified that sprinkler shouldn't be turn on, otherwise they are not responsible for the damage. And I checked on the vacuum breaker, everything inside breaker are gone. The two small pieces are actually not for the breaker. My sprinkler is still not working, and vacuum breaker is actually gone. Last winter, we hired them to do the winterized, (since our old provider was not longer here) at that time, my sprinkler was working great. Called them, of course it is useless. What a terrible provider.

Do not use if you need someone reliable! I set up an appointment btw 12-4pm. No call, no show! When I called I was told they will not squeeze me in any time soon. I can have the next available appointment in 2 weeks from now! No apologies or trying to make up for it. Very rude! I called another company and was able to get an appointment with them in 2 days.

Crew of 2 came at the appointed time and started up my system. Normally I do this but I knew I had a few damaged heads and wanted them to adjust the remaining heads. They replaced 3 gear heads, 2-12 inch misters and 3 other misters and had to replace piping leading to 2 heads. Overall, they did a good job and after 3 weeks everything seems to be working well. The crew could have been a little more professional in their overall approach and demeanor. The $351 cost includes the use of a 15% discount. I will probably continue to use Irrigation Doctor for shut offs and smaller jobs like this one, but I would also leave my options open on bigger jobs.

Three workers came, one to operate controls, one to make adjustments (sometimes kicking heads with foot and using bottom of foot to adjust heads) one to hold flags that were placed on seven heads. I was asked, Do I Want the Bad News Now. They walked with me to each head they had tagged for repair. I was asked did I want them to make repairs. I said no, I would just pay for start-up charges (their coupon special $35.99). I called Water Wizard Lawn Sprinklers for a second opinion. It was their busy season , I had to wait two weeks for them but it was worth it. I had one head that was leaking.

Initially, I was skeptical about using this company because there were no recent reviews and they are a bit far from my home. Nonetheless, they had left a flyer, so I figured they wouldn't mind the drive. I'm so glad I called. I have used this company twice now. Both experiences were great. The first time I used them (last year to turn off sprinklers), the technician came out when he said he would. He knew exactly what he was doing and was in and out without incident. This was impressive to me because I have an old system and previous companies had much difficulty even figuring the thing out and usually had to call in for extra help and it would take quite a bit of time. So, this year when I needed the start up again I called Irrigation Doctor again. They came right out and got started but by this time my control box was totally shot and there were some heads that needed replacing. I already knew this and decided to let them do the work since they seemed to know what they were doing and the price was reasonable. They had the parts with them and went about upgrading my system. There are still a couple of heads I will need to replace later. I will definitely call them again.
