Do NOT hire these charlatans. They give exorbitant price quotes and recommend unnecessary work. As another reviewer posted, this is for the Flint, MI area, but if this is how the company operates in general, it's best to steer clear. Ive had problems every few years with roots in the sewer line and have had various plumbing companies clear the lines. The last time was 3 years ago by this contractor, and they recommended a sleeve or lining of some kind to prevent further issues. I don't recall the amount they quoted at that time, but it was less than 1-2 grand. We decided to pursue this possibility due to some remodeling we are doing now, and instead of doing my usual due diligence in getting several estimates, I called the same company. The technician arrived, and I (stupidly) told him we'd be "good to go" on whatever would be necessary to prevent further issues. The technician himself seemed like a decent young man, who, from his demeanor, seemed to be under pressure from his boss to push unnecessary and expensive service and use scare tactics. The technician did a camera inspection and then told me we were in "imminent danger" of having a "huge problem". The former quote and fix was no longer feasible, and some "tiles had collapsed" and since you "can't trust the city to take care of this kind of thing right", what he recommended was a line replacement from the collapse to the road (not even the whole line) and excavation costing nearly 10 GRAND because if it "went bad", it would cost over 15 grand. I said NO WAY, and he proceeded to tell me he'd "talk to his boss", then he said he could lower the price about a grand. Still nope. The price then continued to decrease incrementally by several thousand dollars until the final quote of between 3-4 thousand for the basic "necessities" to prevent total disaster, and he could start tomorrow. That right there is a huge red flag saying rip off. I did authorize water jetting to clean out the line and current roots as well as pay for the dispatch fee and camera inspection (total of $809.00). The original quote for this was $600.00 for 2 hours of work, but would require an additional $200.00 for any more time which he "just may need because of how bad it was". In the interim, I called my township and a friend who is a builder and asked for his recommendation on a plumbing/excavating company. I spoke to the person who was referred to me, and he said the above was 100% bulls*#, and he said worse case scenario, with the age and distance of my house to the road, even if we had the whole thing replaced it would be no more than 2 grand. Plumbing Professors came out today to perform the water jetting and I told the tech he was NOT authorized to go one penny over the $600.00 and that I had talked to the township, etc. ...hallelujah!!...fairies must have come and repaired the dismal state of my sewer, because he said the line looked good, cleaned up fine and he guaranteed no backups due to roots for 2 years. He also changed his tune and said he saw no reason to spend thousands on a liner and things should be good for a couple years and to call them back because they were "familiar" with our house and they'd fix us up. Yeah, when H*** freezes over. This was 2 days after he was ready to start tearing up my yard and replace lines, etc because it was "really bad".

We had 5 inches of rain and everybody's basements flooded. They got here in time so we didn't get water. He was here for a couple of hours watching it. He was very good. The interaction was very good. We've been using them for years and we don't use anyone else. Their prices are high but they are a little flexible. I think the guys have a little bit of leeway and can give 10 percent off. I don't think they cost more than anyone else. They are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and there is no extra charge. They have never had to come back and redo anything. We will definitely continue to use them.
Description of Work: They disconnected a sump pump so the water started draining and didn't flood the basement.

During the night (6/19/14) a pipe in the bathroom sprung a leak. When I got up bathroom had standing water. The leak made a spraying sound, so I shut off the main water line. I forgot who the last plumber was that I had used. So I looked in the yellow pages and picked Plumbing Professors & called the number for Gahanna (614-929-2691), they said they could have a plumber at my house between 12-2PM that afternoon. The plumber & an apprentice arrived around 1PM. I showed them the situation & told them what the leak sounded like. So the turned the main water line on & they found the leak under the sink. They said the leak was in the supply line for the cold water. The plumber went to the truck got a replacement line installed it . Did the paper work & the bill w as Dispatch Fee $59.00 Labor & parts 166.00 ----------------------- Total $225.00 The whole job took 30 Min. The supply line could be purchased for less than $10.00 I paid the bill and they left. Then I got to thinking the Labor & parts seamed to e a lot of money for souch a small job. My main problem is that I am 85 yeas old, Live alone and am not longer able to do work around the house.

The cost was a little excessive for installing a garbage disposal. The plumber was prompt and completed the job in a timely manner. We ran the disposal and it worked fine with no leaks. The problems began the following day when we ran our dishwasher. Water started running all over the floor when the dishwasher was draining. I found the hose from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal either came loose or wasn't connected. I called the company and they sent someone that evening to reconnect the hose. We ran the dishwasher and there were no leaks. The following day (Saturday), my wife ran a sink full of water. When she removed the drain stopper water started running all over the floor. I checked to see where the leak was coming from and found it was coming from the top of the disposal. We called the company again and were told they couldn't have a repairman out until the following Monday. From early Saturday until Monday morning we were unable to use our kitchen sink. The repairman did come on Monday, which was Memorial Day. He found that the disposal was not seated correctly. He re-installed the disposal and all is working well now. I understand things happen and I do not expect perfection every time. My issue is that we were unable to use our sink for almost 2 days. Plus, I asked to receive a call from the manager and still haven't heard from them.

The Plumber came in the front door and we could tell he wasn't in a good mood at all. My husband told him the problem and what we had already tried. He opened the cupboard under the sink and started yelling that the garbage disposal was broken and that this was the problem. I told him the disposal was old but that it was still working it was the drain that was the problem. He proceeded to snake the drain with no luck so he went out to his truck and got a different snake, almost immediately upon using that one he started yelling that the galvanized pipe was no good and water was all over my kitchen floor. Then he yelled at us for not telling him the pipe was bad,how we were supposed to know that when he didn't as he was supposed to be the plumber. Then he told us he couldn't fix the drain unless we replaced the disposal,by this time it was 8:30pm on Sunday night, we ended up buying an over priced disposal from him and he proceded to tell us that all he could do was install the disposal to the drain we would have to have an electrician hook it up. The man was in my house for about 3 hrs. and he was the rudest person I ever did business with. The whole experience cost us about 750.00.

Woke up to no water on Valentine's Day and Plumbing Professors were out within an hour of my call. The bad news was my galvanized pipes had finally failed (I knew this was coming). The good news was they did the majority of the work in one day. (Some adjustments had to be made the following day.) However, my service tech then went above-and-beyond because I still had no water. He determined that the city line had failed and Tim (my plumber) made numerous calls because it was a holiday (Presidents Day) weekend and finally got the person on call at the Water and Sewer Department to agree it was a situation that the city needed to fix. Once the water was flowing into my house, Tim came back to make certain there were no leaks and everything was working as intended. As a bonus (at least to me), this company accepts credit cards so I didn't have to scramble to find the funds to pay them.
Description of Work: Replaced 60-year-old galvanized pipes and re-plumbed my entire house with PEX piping and easy-to-operate shutoff valves in case of water emergencies.

Run a snake down my kitchen sink to get blockage out that was approximately 4ft in. After looking at the pipes and set up he asked if I ever had slow drains. I absolutely had not and he was amazed with how quick they were. He swapped out a piece that wasn't broken, he just said it was wrong. Ever since then I have had slow draining issues with my sink.

Analyzed slow sewer problem visually. Proposal to replace sewer line from outside of home to village hookup near road, and put in an epoxy liner from outside connection point back into house to the point of "first connection, add two direction clean outs outside of house. They thought the sewer ran next to the sidewalk, but after much digging found it ran parallel to the far side underneath the sidewalk. They dug up the sidewalk (additional cost) and did there sewer replacement. They said they could replace the sidewalk cheaper than a local contractor. (additonal cost). Found out later I could have had the sidewalk done for about $600.00 less by a local contractor. The sidewalk they did put in has sunk down on one side and has numerous sink holes next to it. Manchester Village is not pleased with the quality of the sidewalk, especially the portion on the village right-of-way. Contacted Plumbing Professors numerous times and finally the "new" manager came out to look at it. His immediate solution was to grind down the edge of the new sidewalk on the village right-of-way, and then see what happened to the rest of it. It has continued to sink on one side and raise the opposite edge some. I've contacted them 4 or 5 times but they have not responded with any proposal to fix it. Also, they really messed up our lawn out 8 to 10 feet from the one edge of the sidewalk that's sinking. They said that's not their responsibility. Also they collected a $10,000 bond from us which they said the village required. Found out a few weeks into it that the village didn't require a bond for that. Had to make numerous calls back to them about that. Instead of immediately refunding the money, they took it off the final bill when they said they were done. Looked like some shady dealing. Still not satisfied with the sidewalk or their bookkeeping or the disregard for our lawn. Any help would be appreciated!!

It didn't go; as we were smart enough to check them out a bit more thoroughly before we signed the dotted line. I know, if it had been me alone, I would have done it right then, cuz I wanted the problem taken care of. But the cost was incredible!! I had no idea, and have since learned to ask more people - and check out Angie's list more thoroughly - my husband had gotten their name off of Angie's List on phone....
Description of Work: They came on an emergency call for flooded basement. Very professional and friendly. We were told they had to camera the pipes for $600-, which would be taken off final bill. Their estimate ranged $4300-7000 plus, in terms of replacing pipes. They had us fill out paperwork to borrow the cash, that night. We ended up getting more estimates from different plumbers....the camera service cost average of $60 - note the one less 0 - and we were told the outside piping was in pretty good shape for such an old home, and didn't need immediate service. This was by several different plumbing services! While the tech we had was quite friendly and appeared very knowledgeable, the price difference was absolutely insane. And this was for people that didn't have the money to pay up front -we didn't know any better, but luckily my husband insisted on more estimates. This was in Flint, Mich., so doesn't reflect on the address of company listed above. But other companies told us the Professors are not even allowed into some of the towns around here, because of exorbitant prices. So just watch and dig, before paying up front!

We had a real mess on our hands and these gentlemen did a phenomenal job! Our drains were PLUGGED with roots from years of growth, and they stayed until it was cleaned out with no additional charge. In addition, our washer was backing up into our sink line, and they came back with a camera and high pressure water and did what no one else has been able to do: got the line completely cleaned out! I love these guys and would not only highly recommend them, but will always call them for any plumbing needs. They are knowledgeable, professional, courteous and excellent at what they do!

We had a clogged sewer line that we discovered the hard way...our basement was flooding. We called another company we had used before and they wanted us to wait 12 hours, so we started searching. We found these guys in the Yellow Pages (gave up searching on Angie's List after the first few attempts) and they had someone at our house within 25 minutes of our call. And it was 5:30 a.m.! They charged nothing extra for the after hours call. The clog was gone and our plumbing back to normal just more than an hours after we called. Mike, the technician they sent, was professional, friendly, and explained everything he was doing. He didn't try to sell us anything extra. Overall, it was a great experience (aside from the flood).

I had a blocked sewer, so I called them out to clean it out. They tried to clear it with a typical cutter, but couldn't break through whatever was obstructing the line. After a while, they said they weren't going to be able to cut through and they would need to come back out with a waterjet cutter to blast through the roots or whatever was causing the problem. Everyone I have spoken with since has said you can't use a waterjet cutter to cut through stubborn roots, but I was willing to give it a try. It didn't work, and after a while, my sewer line was full of water and they had to stop. At this point, they suggested coming back out with a pump so they could pump out the line and continue to try to bust through with the waterjet. The problem was to do this, they would need to dig out the access line. So what started as a $189 job, turned into a $600 job (for the waterjet) and was potentially going to become a four figure job and they couldn't guarantee a) the waterjet would ever work, b) there wasn't a collapsed line beyond the roots causing the problem. Not wanting to miss another day's work to watch them do work we weren't sure would solve the problem, I requested a quote on just digging out the existing line and putting down a new PVC sewer line. They preferred to install a liner in the existing line and after hearing the benefits, I requested a quote for both alternatives. They provided only the quote for the sewer liner as opposed to both the liner and the new PVC sewer. The quote for the liner was too high for us to afford and we parted ways. I don't want to make it sound as if the experience was totally negative, though. They were willing to roll the cost of the lower level work into the next round. Not only that, when the waterjet didn't clear the line they didn't charge me at all for that day's work. That was very much appreciated.

BAD SITUATION & VERY DISSAPOINTMENTING ! I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN,& WOULD RECOMEND YOU DEMAND THAT ALL YO WANT IS THE TOLIET UN PLUGED AND DON' AGREE TO ANYTHING UNTILL YOU ARE SURE THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU WANT & NO MORE.TELL THEM UP FRONT IF YOU CALL TAHT YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR TIME WASTED ON WHAT ELSE THE WANT TO OFFER!
Description of Work: showed up early, was to be call me when on his way gave them my home # & Cell # received no call. First he looked at the toilet and cam back to our kitchen & wasted approximately 25 minuets telling me what all they could do for my home. Nothing I asked about or was interested in. I just wanted the toilet unplugged. So he went to his truck to wright up some paper work. When he came back inside he gave 5 options. (to pay $770 for a new toilet.) (pay $ 741 for a except standard height toilet) ( pay $699 for round front standard toilet) (pay $218 to pull toilet/rest inspect for blockage )LAST OPTION $186 DOLLARS TO TRY & UNPLUG) So I said that is all I wanted in the first place. This all toke about 45 min. We went to the toilet he got a snake & in 2 min it was FLUSHING. I should also say he took up time looking at my furnace, hot water tank, & electrical box. what this had to do with my TOILET I have no idea he just wanted me to sign up for their Deans List Electrical Inspections & Deans List Pluming Inspection. My total bill came to $186.00 - $59.00 Service Charge - $127.00 to Auger Toilet ( 2 to 3 minuets time max.) when I called to complain about this I was told that this was a normal rate from nay Plummer service.

Have an older house with an older toilet that started leaking. Getting our appointment was easy to set up and the people seemed friendly over the phone. Delmar, the master plumber, arrived late because he was given the wrong address by his dispatch, but communicated the whole time to let me know where he was. Was professional, efficient, clean, and factual in his evaluation of our older toilet and its small leak. Ultimately, we called him back to have the toilet replaced with a new, more modern one. He and his colleague arrived on time, took out our old toilet, and installed our new one in under an hour while keeping our bathroom and house pretty clean. He offered multiple solutions at different price points, didn't seem to try to oversell, and seemed straight forward. Seemed more professional than the other estimate we got from a company with more reviews on Angie's List. : We unfortunately are contacting him again soon for our leaky bathtub faucet. #homeownership

Very professional. Came out same day to look at problem and schedule fix. They said it would be $400 to clean my discharge line from the house to the storm drain. When they got here they ran a camera down the line and found the problem was some landscape rocks had filled up the pipe. They cleaned out the rocks and dropped the price to $150. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

The person that came out, had given me a hard time after telling him what the office had told me. He would not take the 15% off of the price, would not finance (even though the add in the yellow pages said that they would finance), also would not take the house call price off of the bill after what the girl in the office had mentioned to me when I asked. I have used many service professionals throughout the years. I have several rental properties and I will never be calling these guys again. Unless you want to get taken and charged the absolute highest possible amount dont bother with them.. He tried to upsell every single project, He was condescending to say the least and was not able to even find a leak in the basement that took someone else half a minute to find. He did not have a part on his truck to repair a toilet and he was going to charge me another service charge to come back when he had one. He tried to charge $200 for a part I ran to the plumbing store and picked up for $3.00. Seriously call someone else
