They arrived on time, did what they said they were going to do and were pleasant to have in our home - very satisfied. We were concerned about noise (something friends have experienced with their system). The system is completely quiet, we don't hear anything, inside or out.

They were good. I spent $800 on that job. They were fantastic with their professionalism, service and clean-up. I would recommend them to other members.

They were persistent. It was a tough job and they came out several times at our request. I recommend asking a lot of questions first and knowing what you are getting in to.

Clearly, Protech does this type of work a lot because everything went well from quote to cleanup. I called for a quote, was routed to David, who emailed me a detailed PDF quote for a basic mitigation system. Neil and Kevin arrived on time on the install date, explained what they were going to do, and did the job in under the promised time. Having two guys on the job lets one work outside and one inside, so it gets done more efficiently. They answered all my questions, cleaned up nice, and explained how the system works and how to follow-up with testing. $25 off if you pay by check that day. After a few weeks, I called to get Protech's opinion on how I could get my levels down even further, David came out (again, right on time) and gave me some simple low-cost ideas that I could do myself. For most basements, the basic system is good enough, but I have a funky old basement with no sump and exposed crawlspaces. Top-notch all the way!

Our house is 111 years old and since we've moved in, I've had respiratory problems which got us thinking we may have a mold issue. We bought an in-home mold test kit from Lowe's which showed three types of mold. We had ProTech come out thinking we had a mold issue. Even before ProTech came out they explained via email that all homes have mold and the problem with home tests is that all homes have some levels of mold spores in the air and unless you test inside and outside the home, you can get false positive testing, etc. Jerry from ProTech came out and walked the inside and outside of the home. While air samples would have been pretty pricey, Jerry found no mold presence and advised that he did not feel air testing was necessary at this time. It was refreshing to have someone with honesty and integrity not 'sell' you something you didn't need. This is the second time we've used ProTech. We also used them for Radon remediation a year ago. Our radon was registering at 8 and since the Radon pump installation, it's been consistently at or below 4. We would for sure use ProTech again in the future. We are thinking that by replacing the siding and adding gutters to the home, we might see an instant improvement. We are the third owners of the home and the asphalt siding is clearly old and decaying. It also has a wood or compressed board as its base so we're thinking we can make a great improvement by just stopping the water from running down the house and windows.

Our basement had tested high for radon, so we called Protech to see what they could do. They gave us an immediate phone estimate and scheduled a visit for the next day. They showed up as promised and provided a written estimate with detail about the work they would do. A service call was scheduled for the next week. Again, they showed up as promised and completed the job in a few hours. Very efficient and courteous--and they cleaned up after themselves. They explained how to monitor the system (it has a 30 year guarantee) and left us a new radon test kit to use. About a month after their service, we had occasion to use our air conditioner, but it wouldn't come on. We called our regular furnace & A/C contractor who determined that there was a faulty connection where Protech had tied into the furnace electrical circuit. It was an easy fix and all is now well. I called Protech to tell them about the problem and followed it up with a letter. As soon as Kurt Hudgins, the Protech president, heard about the issue he sent me an email promising a check to reimburse us for the expense of the A/C service call. The check arrived in the mail the next day. I was very impressed. Clearly, they will do whatever it takes to make a satisfied customer.

The crew of two men came at the appointed time. They covered the hardwood floor through which they would need to walk to get to the basement. Work was carefully done so as not to disturb or damage cabinets and storage units in the area. They were tolerant of the dog while she got acquainted and decided she really didn't need to "boss" the job. Before they left they explained the safety measures, when to start the follow up test for radon and supplied the test kit and the instructions in writing.

When we bought our house we learned that we had a radon level of 22! Our realtor suggested Protech, and we are so thankful we went with them. They came just a day or two after we called them and put in a radon mitigation system that worked with our sump pump. They also recommended a detector that plugged into the wall, which brings me great peace of mind when I see the "1" on it each day. The company rep was very professional and I was pleased with the care he took in running the line across my basement ceiling (above it). I have had the system for 3 years now and I've never had a problem with any part of it. I highly recommend Protech to everyone.

They were extremely thorough. Basically, they tested all there is in our house and found unacceptable levels. The radon remediation system that they installed should have been checked and had not been and they found out the radon level was still to high. The system was guaranteed so they installed another system for free.
