GREAT - Very Patient with my 100's of questions. Even coached me through a DIY quick and dirty remediation since they were not able to work at the time for COVID. They came out soon after they were re-opened and finished up the job. Between an onsite visit to quote and me doing 1/2 the job on my own, there is no way they made any money on my job. But I have already referred them several times to others.

Dave was outstanding! He actually went above and beyond by fixing two of our outlet that weren't working in the basement for no extra charge. Price was about what I was expecting (actually a little less!) and I was happy with the Job done. Strongly recommend!

Had a radon system put in and was overall very happy with the process and price. Radon was 8+ pCi/L and now I'm down to 1.3 pCi/L. Would highly recommend Protech in the Ann Arbor area.

Initially, Protech set up our radon mitigation system well. However, after having the system for nearly 5 years, we noticed the fan was making a lot of noise. I called Protech twice to report this and both times they assured me that there was likely just ice in the fan and we shouldn't worry about it and the problem will likely resolve itself. Sure enough the fan system failed. However, by the time it actually failed, we were no longer covered by the five-year warranty (we were covered when I initially called). When I called and told them about this, Protech would not honor the original warranty and it cost us nearly $400 to replace the fan.

PROTECH Environmental is truly our local expert on installing radon mitigation systems. They took only a day to dive down into the corner of our basement sump pump and install a vacuum fan with PCV pipe and u-tube pressure gauge. Our radon levels are now down close to 1.0 pCi/L. The PROTECH team is extremely professional and courteous. They have radon reduction down to a science. They gave us clear documentation with our warranty spelled out. The fan is very quiet. The system works like a gem. One thing to fellow Angie List members, you might want to consider putting in a new sump pump if it is almost time to do so. And put in a quality brand, like Zoeller, etc., making sure that there are no parts protruding above the sump pump cap. We have a backup sump pump that runs off the water system pressure (better to have battery powered). It has a valve that sticks out of the cap, which makes it impossible for PROTECH to install the airtight Lexan cover on the sump. Best service I have had all year. It is affordable and worth every penny.

The contractor came out and gave us a quote per our scheduled time. On the day of the install he was on time, worked a half day until finished. He gave us 2 options of where we wanted it installed to best be hidden out of plain sight. We used a $25 off coupon from Angie's List which he honored no problem.

I am very pleased with Protech's service, from the first call I made to their office to get information to the quality of service the technicians provided. The person I talked to on the phone was professional, friendly, and did not pressure me to use their service. He was informative, and quickly sent me a quote via email. The job was scheduled within one week and two service people came out on time, and I could not believe how quickly they worked! They said they do 3 jobs a day. They did a neat, professional job and it's been installed for about 3 weeks and it works like it is supposed to. Before the system was installed the radon level was between 4.1 and 5.6 and now it's less than 0.3 which I understand is less than a detectable amount. I chose this company off of Angie's List because of the good reviews, so I thought I should let other people on Angie's List know that I also recommend them.

Jerry came out to my home, explained what needed to be done, and gave me a quote through email. The men that came out to do the work were polite, nice, and knowledgeable as well as great workers. They placed plastic on the basement floors and a plastic zippered doorway at the bottom of the stairs. Russ would periodically update me on what was happening and where they were at in the process. He wanted to show me what they had accomplished and explain what more needed to be done. Russ and Ryan were both great workers and when they returned the next day, they brought Jake who was equally great. They were very thorough and professional in their work and cleaned everything up. I was very happy with the completed work and their work ethics.

Our radon system indicator showed that it wasn't working so I called Protech who had installed it about 6-7 years ago. Of course our 5 year warranty was up so we had to pay for the new fan/pump, but they gave me a 2 hour window (as opposed to 4 hours some other places) and they came early. Friendly and professional, one guy got right to work doing the replacing outside while Doyle came in, did the paperwork, explained the new warranty and the need for a larger pump. He inspected the inside pipe and indicator and I started asking questions about moisture and mold which he answered and looked at another area of the cellar for me. He seemed very knowledgeable and answered my many questions and recommended a company that could do what I needed done. I have been very happy with this company.

Gave me a solution to my problem over the phone, no charge

They were so good. I had been getting a hard sell from another company and didn't feel comfortable with their answers. I went to the Protech Environmental Services website and they were so informative, even providing national geologic surveys in the area explaining about why certain areas have radon and why. Any company that interested in just providing this info for free on their website deserved my call. When I called i spoke to David. He was so patient answering all my questions. I asked a lot of questions. He was so forthright and knowledgable, just sharing and answering. This is the kind of company I want to do business with, one who is interested in helping me and my home. I was surprised how soon they were able to come in for the appointment. I had 3 men here and they were very respectful of my property. Explaining everything they were going to do as well as asking me where exactly I wanted the vent to go (it was in a corner so i could go out either of 2 walls) They even helped with that decision and showed me on the outside as well as a nearby room where the vent tube would be and made sure we wouldn't see it from any interior window (just really thoughtful). THere was very little mess and they explained everything thoroughly to me when I asked. Once finished they explained what they did and what I could expect. they also provided me with a third party radon test (so it's impartial). They left no mess. did their job. THe clear sump pump cover is brilliant because I can see down and be aware incase the pump or water level has issues. Very Very pleased with everything. Good company , good people.

Top Marks! I made an appointment, and two workers, Neils and Doyle, showed up early. They apologized for being early and got to work immediately. They were very thorough in their explanations, meticulous in their work, and extremely courteous and professional and finished on time. I was extremely happy with the quality of work and the customer service.

I found what I believed to be a large amount of mold in my basement which freaked me out. I called Protech first thing this morning to request an inspection and spoke with Jerry. He was patient and answered all of my questions and alleviated my concerns explaining it was a mildew problem not mold and to purchase a dehumidifier for the summer months. He also explained how to clean up the area and other steps to take in future. He was knowledgable, professional and spent time with me on the phone at no cost. I will definitely use this company for any future problems and recommend them to friends.

We have a unique home which is difficult to remediate and I felt we got excellent attention and advice.

No . After the estimator left telling me I would get a quote within a few days, I did not get a quote. NEVER. I contacted them but still did not get a quote. If they had just told me that they weren't interested, I would have understood and they would have remained on my "good" list or at least possible for another job. It would be interesting to know why no quote happened.

My husband was home for the appointment and can not speak any more highly about the service performed . He arrived on time for the appointment, took a look at our problem and was straight forward with us. He told us that as long as we were replacing the decking ( we already have a roof replacement scheduled) that we would be fine and no mold remediation work was needed! He also walked through our home with us and checked other rooms for possible problems! And to top it all off he didn't even charge us for the visit! We fully expected to pay for the inspection, but because he didn't find a problem that needed his work he told us not to worry about it. Protech comes highly recommended from myself and my husband. He's an honest, knowledgeable, professional, hardworking guy that will not try to get over on you and will give you just the facts.

It went perfect. The workmanship was great. He told me if the radon level was up, they would come back and fix it. They were in and out of here in about 3 hours. They were very efficient.

My basement radon value is above 4, so we made appointment with Protech to install the radon mitigation system. they came today very punctual and they really very very knowledgeable. they measured my basement and try to find a good spot. Unfortunately, because of deck right outside of one good spot , and for another spot, a lot of pipes tangled there. They did not just install the system. They told us everything and also give us advice. Although we choose to install later after make a small changes in the basement. We really appreciate! They are truly honest, professional and knowledgeable.

Wife inquired on AL regarding possible mold issue, wanting testing for presence of mold... and gave them my phone number. They called me quickly and asked about our situation. They listened and then advised against a costly testing, which would only tell us about presence, but not the root cause. They advised me to get ducts cleaned and buy a dehumidifier for the basement. Straightforward and honest, thanks for the good advice!
