Dan Del Zoppo Electric

n testing from the Dan Clark arrived promptly and retested all of the circuit breakers. They all tested good. He then tested one outlet which tested bad He went under the house into the crawl space to check for junction boxes down there and found none. .He came back up and began testing outlets moving away from the breaker box and found that all of the outlets and lights on the circuit were wired in "daisy-chain". He found the one outlet that had a common (white) wire loose and found that that was the problem. He replaced the wall outlet and everything then was fine.

Had some medical issues had to take care of which made me wait to do the job. M

They're very professional, nice, and work efficiently. Their prices are reasonable, and the techs are very honest. They're not easy to book, but that's because they're that good. They're good problems solvers too. We have worked with both Tom and Will.

Service was excellent, they were very responsive (same day service).

It was fine, they did a good job. It was a reasonable cost.

but had to go get parts. Everything could have been fixed on the first visit. I felt like they tried very hard but something seemed to be wrong. I don't want to hurt feelings and I am not sure if I would hire again in that the job wasn't completed as requested.

Will, the electrician, did a wonderful job. He told us what he was doing and why, along with suggestions to help improve the project. He explained the reasons he was wiring the room the way he was and was willing to listen to our needs and adjusted to what we wanted or explained a method for a better solution. After he finished the electrical inspector came in and stated he was impressed with the work that was done.

I have always been pleased with the work from this company. If there ever was a problem, it was dealt with promptly. They are good about coming out quickly when you have a problem. I recommend them all the time.

Having Dan Del Zoppo Electric do this work was a pleasurable experience. When I made arrangements for this job I was scheduled for Dan to come out and do an estimate. Dan arrived on time and was very personable as we walked about and talked about the scope of the job. Dan shared with me that I could probably save some money by buying the light fixtures myself, which I did. Upon Dan's departure, after getting the information for the estimate, he told me it would probably be the first part of the next week before I would received the estimate for the job. (Dan did the estimate on a Thursday.) He also asked if I preferred receiving the estimate by US Mails or by email. I asked for email. The estimate was received as promised and I called and scheduled the work according to the availability of an electrician and my convenience. A 35% down payment was requested. On the day the work was to be completed, the electrician arrived on time and completed the job. The job was completed in a thorough competent manner. The electrician doing the work was friendly and efficient answering my questions as he worked. Upon completion of the job the electrician cleaned up after himself and departed. I was given the option of paying the balance at that time or to wait for a bill. I chose waiting for the bill. All went well. I could not be more pleased.

He came in the evening, just a short time after I called. I don't remember the exact cost, but I recall it was very reasonable for after hours emergency service.

We've used Dan's Electric twice in the last month for basic electric work; we chose them based on location and strength of previous Angie's List reviews. Both times they were very accommodating to a short-notice request. Trina in the office was very helpful, and the electrician arrived promptly and was very professional. We will definitely be contacting them for any future electrical work.

Called this company for an estimate for some GFI outlets for the outside, a fuse for an outside a/c, possibly putting in another gfi outlet in the basement for a sump pump and a couple other minor things. I was told I would receive the estimate via email. Its been 1 week and no estimate. i've had other companies give me a price right at my house with no waiting.. don't know why u need to email me a price. u should know how much right then and there. NOT happy!! what a waste of my time!!! 5/29/13 update- Finally received my emailed estimate ( 1 week later) for the work that needed to be done. HOWEVER, the price didn't even include some of the work that we had discussed that needed to be done. NOW, waiting on a revised estimate. What a hassle 5/31/13- just read the companies response and Dan who came to my house knew that I wanted the work done the week of June 3rd right after the waterproofers were going to be done waterproofing the basement. He even asked it would be best to do all the work at one time. I agreed and said the waterproofers are coming June 3rd and told him they would be done in 1 week. STILL, NO REASON to take a week to give me an esimate and when received the estimate, the estimate still had work missing that needed to be done. WILL NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY BECAUSE TAKE TOO LONG TO GIVE U AN ESTIMATE AND CAN'T EVEN GIVE U A PROPER ESTIMATE WITH WHAT U ASKED TO GET DONE!!

Quick, easy, and very professional as usual.I've used this company before and everyone from the Trina in the office and Will the electrician to the owner Dan made the job pleasant and easy. Will's quality of work is to be admired. I can recommend this company without reservation.

Dan came out and diagnosed that the microwave was not and should be on its own circuit. We scheduled a time for one of his staff to come out shortly after that. The electrician arrived on time and finished quicker than expected. And the problem was solved.This was the third time in the last year I've used this company. They have always been punctual, efficient, tidy, and have quickly diagnosed and fixed the problems I called them to fix. They are a bit pricey. But you get what you pay for!

I had replaced a malfunctioning electric outlet in the bathroom, and replaced the light and fan switches for the room as well. Though I labeled the wires, as I went, only one of the two lights was functional when I was done. Enough with amateur hour - time to call the pros. I also wanted to replace some outlets (two-prong, no ground) in a bedroom, so it really seemed worth a service call. I chose Dan Del Zoppo (aka Dan's Electric) based on Angie's List. Scheduling was no problem -- the representative handling scheduling was able to schedule for the day and time I requested when it was convenient for me to be off work (Friday afternoon). She committed to calling me shortly before the tech would arrive, and asked how much notice I needed, which was 30 minutes. On the day of the scheduled job, I got a call at 12:45 reporting that the technician would be arriving between 1:30 and 2 (45 minutes notice, plenty). The technician, Will, arrived at 1:50 (on time), introduced himself in a courteous manner, and got right to work. He worked quickly, and continuously until the job was done, pausing only to answer my questions. He wrapped up all the work in an hour -- very efficient. He offered to take a check right then, have the company bill us, or have us call the office on Monday with credit card details. Nice to have options. Since I had asked about arc-fault protection, Will volunteered a to inspect our circuit-breaker panel and advise on whether arc-fault breakers could be installed in the future. That was a few extra minutes that he didn't count in the bill. On-time, reasonable rates, efficient and professional work, helpful. I will call them again in the future.

We chose Del Zoppo based on word-of-mouth. Two friends had work done by them just before our work and both had good experiences. We still got 3 estimates, though, including Del Zoppo--all had a wide range. The owner answered all questions knowledgeably. We felt his answers were more informative than those of the other two companies (who also have good reputations). We wanted to replace knob and tube wiring--answers to questions about it being worth it to do this made information we already had more clear. The electrician who did the work was very prompt each day, communicated well, and worked very quickly with almost no interruptions so the cost might be similar to someone less expensive per hour that didn’t work as fast. It took 12 work days over a period of just under 3 weeks for a whole house rewire (2-story, 1920's house, ~1300 sq ft) so very few breaks from start to finish. Dust and debris was very low for the kind of work done (drilling though plaster and wood). We did most of the cleanup each day to get the work done faster and to save money. Work started in the basement, proceeded to the attic then to the bedrooms and finally to the living room, dining room and kitchen so only part of one room at a time is tied up. Essential appliances are interrupted only briefly. For a day or two we had to use a lamp on an extension cord to light an area before the wiring could be completed since more extensive work was required. It helps to stay ahead of the electrician--clear the area where work will occur before work starts in that room. Cover everything else in the room. It'll save time and money if the electrician doesn't have to do this. The final cost was towards the low end of estimate--the same as for our friends.

The electrician worked very quickly! Which, when paying by the hour I really appreciate. He did everything I asked and I have had no problems since.

Everything went extremely well. The contact person, Trina, is superior in terms of coordinating everything from the bid process to the city inspection. Will, the electrician, was professional and very knowledgeable. I felt completely at ease trusting them with this project. I think it's unusual for a company to have all of the components work so well together. I could call Trina with any question at any point of the project and she got back to me with an answer. Will was always willing to go the extra mile to customize the job for me. It was refreshing to work with the people of this company and I would recommend them without hesitation to any of my friends.

It was a pleasure working with this company. They were competent, showed up on time and kept me informed. However, it took a few months from receiving the estimate to completion of the job. The generator had to be ordered and took a while. I also had to contact the gas company to install a larger gas meter before work could begin. Trina scheduled the inspections. Because of a code change some of the work had to be redone. We have not had a power cut since installation was completed. A 10 minute test period once a week shows me that the unit is working.

I will give them an "A" in all categories. They are actually coming back in a couple of weeks do do some more work for us. I would recommend them to everyone.

Rich showed up on time, nice guy. I was initially shocked at the price of the service; when I complained, the owner went out of his way to make it right. He (Dan Del Zoppo) seems like a very good person, highly professional.

The worker did a nice, neat job. He was pleasant and communication was good. Time was used efficiently.

The comoany promptly provided a free estimate, scheduled to perform the work within one week of the estimate and delivered exactly as promised. Very punctual, professional, courteous and clean. Everything looks and works great.

We had a power surge incident that knocked out several appliances, so we had to have a lot of electrical work done. I don't think we have gotten the bill yet. It's probably going to be taken care of by our insurance company. They did the work. They seemed to do an okay job. Their responsiveness was good except that they advertised that they would respond 24 hours a day. I think they have a 24-hour a day line, but nobody responded. This happened on a Saturday and they didn't respond until Monday. We would hire them again in the future.

The service was professional yet friendly from the call to the finished job.
