Description of Work: Repaired our 50 inch Panasonic plasma TV. Don, the tech, came to our home analyzed the problem and ordered parts,one from Canada and one from Kansas, so we had to wait a week or so for the parts. Don timely returned to install the parts. Charge was reasonable for parts and labor. Much cheaper than buying a new TV, not to mention plasma TVs are no longer produced.

Description of Work: Mr.Kressin was commissioned to repair my flatscreen. Upon arrival on 5/8/15 , he was punctual, affable and very professional. He concluded I need a new mother board from Samsung. A month passed and after leaving several messages he stated the part had not arrived. About 2 months thereafter, he appeared for his second service attempt and was still unsuccessful; no fee was assessed. Going forward I perhaps heard from him once after numerous attempts. In the span of the next 4 months I left in excess of 12 voicemail messages and at least 6 text messages, to no avail. He was totally non-communicative. I was immensely dissatisfied.

Description of Work: Our still fairly new larger sized flat screen suddenly stopped working. Don came in and truly new how to troubleshoot. After opening up tv he went almost straight to the problem which was a loose connection/bad solder. He soldered the necessary components, put it back together and then hung it back better than it was before. Works perfectly again. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: Our relatively new LG smart TV was cycling on and off spontaneously. Don Cressin came to our house one evening, as arranged. He disassembled the TV, diagnosed the problem and fixed it in about an hour, certainly less than two. He was very knowledgeable, explained what he was doing and had all the parts and tools necessary. Great result.

Description of Work: Requested TV repair service. I called and left a message requesting a call back.Nearly a week passed before my call was returned. The owner indicated that he had some family issues, which took him out of town. Things happen and this is certainly understandable. He told me he was back in town, but did not have access to his schedule when he called. He told me he would call me back the next day to schedule an appointment, but never did. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I decided to go with another repairman.

Description of Work: there is a reason this place has an "A" rating. They diagonosed our problem over the phone! They told us what to do and helped us fix the TV...no charge! Are you kidding me? In today's world? I called them last night, they returned the call first thing this morning, they were polite and professional and i would highly recommend them to anyone with a TV repair need. I don't usually take the time to write reviews but i had to this time as this repair shop deserves the postive feedback!

Description of Work: Outstanding professional television repair service by a true craftsman who takes great pride in his work. He saved a $2,000 television which had a number of small computer board parts burnt out and naturally fraying wire and left it in a condition where it will work well for the next five years. Honesty, integrity, pride in work and a six month guarantee on all work - add up to the best, IMHO, television repairman and service in the area. He traveled over 45 miles to my house. His assessment charge of $100 was applied to the final bill so my repairs really only cost $175. Considering that he was on the job for almost 2.5 hours and freely calibrated my set, as well, when finished....I don't believe any television repair service comes better than this.

Description of Work: I was having trouble with my Sony tv. I would turn it on and then it would shut off but this would not happen all of the time. I checked Angie's list and found Certified Electronics. I called up to find out if they serviced this area and they said yes. Don came on time but the tv would not act up. He ran diagnostics but could not get the tv to act up. He also did routine service on the set and told me if the tv acted up to watch for the sequence of the flashing red light and then to call up and give the sequence to him. This would help him recognize what is wrong. I did and he knew exactly what was wrong and ordered the parts. He came back out, installed the parts and gave me full credit of the amt. he charged me for the first visit toward the total bill. His charges are reasonable and he does excellent work and will answer any questions. The tv has worked perfectly ever since. I definitely would use them again

Description of Work: Don, the service man came to my home to repair my 50" TV. The TV went out on the blink and I was told that the "mother board" needed to be replace. He had to order the part and the time for completion took about a week. He was friendly and very knowledgable in his craft. I gave him a deposit and the balance due was to be paid when he installed the needed part. After completion, the amount due was less than what was originally quoted. He said the part was cheaper than expected and he like to pass the saving on to his customers. All I can say, I hope I don't have to repair another TV anytime soon, but if I do....Certified Electronics will be the company that I will call. Thank you Angie's List for another successful job well done.

 + -1 moreIt was a great experience. The staff was helpful and very friendly, and they were very responsive. The fact that they refunded $25 for my TV "donation" was unexpected, but appreciated. I also received a holiday card from them, as this work was performed around Christmas.
Description of Work: I received a small (23") TV/DVD combo as a gift in 2009, and the DVD player stopped working. I took it to Certified Electronic Service to see if they could fix it. They charged me $40 (non-refundable) to open it up and take a look. The day after I dropped it off, I got a phone call from them saying that the DVD unit was defective and they needed to get a new one, but they could only find a used one. They did not want to put that used player into the TV because they guarantee their work, and there was no guarantee that this DVD player would work for any amount of time. So, they recommended that I buy a cheap external DVD player to hook up to the TV and use that. I later received a new TV/DVD combo as a gift, so I asked the folks at CES if I could donate the TV to them. They said they sometimes take used TVs to use as loaners for people who need to have their TV serviced, so they would accept it, and they also gave me a $25 refund on the $40 charge to evaluate the initial problem.

 + 0 moreThe technician described the problem in detail, told us the cost to repair it and gave his opinion as to whether to repair the TV or purchase a new one. He recommended we buy a new TV, he explained the pros and cons of LED vs. plasma and he suggested several brands to consider. He was friendly, polite, well-informed and honest and his charge for the service seemed reasonable.
Description of Work: We had a problem with the picture quality of our 42" HD LED TV. The owner/technician came to our house, inspected the TV and diagnosed the problem.

 + -1 moreExtremely happy with service and results. Called them, they called back and set up diagnose appointment. Came at appointment time, quickly took apart TV and did a very through check. Diagnosed problem and suggested upgarde of power boards. I had already check through the manufacturer;s web site what the problem might be and also the current status of the firmware and software on my TV. I had a good idea of what was wrong. Certified confirmed what I was thinking and really demonstrated their knowledge of the systems. They gave me an estimate of what the parts might cost but called after they ordered and informed me that the parts were less expensive than originally estimated. They ordered parts and when they came in, they called set up a fix date and came on time. Fixed the set quickly and provided information to me on upgrading the software inside the TV from the manufacturers web site. I was able to download and upgarde the software myself. Not sure if the cost was expensive for this type of repair but it was what was quoted except for the reduction in price of the parts. Extremely satisfied with this vendor and would use them again and recommend them to others.
Description of Work: 42 inch HD Plasma TV which lost all power. First visit was 17 May, problem diagnosed and parts ordered. Second visit was 21 May with new parts and upgrade firmware.

 + -1 moreMy first contact was with Don he seemed professional and diagnosed my TV problem as a manufactuer defect. He said someone would call to schedule an appointment, never happened. So I contacted Dee she set up an appnt. for a week later, no show no call. I called her to find out what happened and said she had no record of the appnt. I rescheduled for the following week and took the day off of work, no show AGAIN! So I called Dee she said oh we rescheduled your appnt. for the following week. Im getting a little hot at this point and tell her if she reschedules a appnt. shouldnt she contact the customer and notify them of this. She said she is quite sure she contacted me. Well no she didnt no voice mail or caller ID showing she tried. To the owner: how do you stay in buisness if this is going on. I contacted another repair company and Don had originally diagnose the problem correctly. Except they were able to order the part and install on time within a week.
Description of Work: No work was performed as no one ever showed up for appointments or even bothered to notify me.
