Don is amazing. We first met him when he began his business in the mid-'80's. At that time, we had my parents floor model Magnavox TV. Don brought it back to life and it lasted many more years. He even helped hubby to carry a new table on to our deck! Don has repaired several of our electronics from tube Tv's, VCRs, mother in laws tape deck, computer monitor light button. Don does an expert fix on all our electronics. I pray he doesn't retire!

Don was extremely easy to get in touch with and schedule. He kept in touch as both our schedules were so different. He showed up as promised on time with a myriad of diagnostic equipment and went right to work. His knowledge of electronics was very impressive. I was hoping to 'save' my malfunctioning tv but it had a defective LCD panel and the repair cost exceeded the value of the unit. I appreciated his honesty, competence and professionalism. (I didn't think tv repairmen existed anymore; it's good to know that I can always depend on Don.

Don called on approximately 9/11 indicating that the 1st part was in, but the 2nd was yet to arrive. Asked if I wanted him to repair the one tv while waiting for the part on the 2md tv. I said no because I wanted both tvs repaired at one time. Don has not called me back since 9/11 and I have called him two times and left messages both times. My records show that the last time I called Don was on 9/18/15 and he is yet to return my cal.. I am not sure what is going on but this has not been handled in a professional manner.
Description of Work: Don came to my home to look at two televisions needing repair. He evaluated the problems and indicated he would order parts. He indicated part for one tv would take a little longer to locate. He called back on 9/8 (tues after labor day) and said the 1st part would arrive shortly but that the 2nd part would take longer.

(Member name removed), unfortunantly I did leave you one message that you either did not get or did not wish to respond to. I was hospitalized for a slipped L2 disc over 3 weeks ago. Since I live by myself it was a bit hard to try to contact most of my customers. My sister did mange to take care of some but she had no idea what was what. Anyway I am just about back on my feet as they should be lifting the 5lb weight restrictions for lifting anything by the end of the week or beginning of next. Your parts are here but I do not know if you still need them or had the units repaired by someone else or replaced. Let me know. I will hang on to them for another week or so. Don said he would order the necessary parts and call me back within a week - my TV is still not fixed 3 months later after leaving many many messages, I've only been called back two or three times - each of the call backs came with a promise that I'm ordering the part, will have it in 7 days and will call you back - only not to be called back - while Don is very knowledgeable and personable, my experience is that he is not consistent, despite many other A ratings, and I'm unfortunately going to call someone else to repair my TV and do not recommend hiring him.

Mr [Member Name Removed], I did receive the board we needed to repair the unit X3. They kept shipping it to an old address despite my trying to get that corrected. Once that happened I got 3 of them at once because I reordered it 3 times. I image by now you have the unit repaired. If not I will make arrangement to finish the job before I send these all back. I will also call you in the next day or so to work something out on the charges. The chronic shipping error was not fair to either of us in trying to expedite the repair but I feel I should do something. Thanks, Don

After Don located the problem, he ordered a part from LG. It arrived in about 5 days and he promptly came to do the repair. The job is excellent. He was fast, knowledgeable and very accommodating. I would highly recommend Don to anyone with a need for TV repairs.

Don was the only person familiar with my kind of television, but unfortunately he wasn't able to obtain the necessary parts for the repairs despite an extensive search. Furthermore, he was reasonably responsive to my calls and emails, he was very personable and friendly when dealing with me, and his pricing was fair as well. I also appreciated Don's honesty when setting expectations about the repairs.

Great experience! We called Don and explained the problem we were having with our LG TV and he knew immediately what the issue was. He quoted the cost of parts and labor and scheduled an appointment for two days later. He showed up on time and completed the job in about 1.5 hours. He was extremely thorough in his work and in explaining to us what happened. The capacitors were all that really needed replacing to get the TV working again, but he re-soldered all the items on the control board to make sure we wouldn't have future problems. The price was the best we found and the service was gerat!

Don came to our house for a 10-20 min assessment. He said he needed to order a part to repair the TV and said it would take 1-2 weeks for the part to arrive. After 2 weeks, we hadn't heard back from Don, so we left him a message. All together, we have left 5+ messages with no reply from Don. We paid the assessment fee of $75 with his promise to order the part and return to fix the TV. It has been about 4 weeks since Don was at our house and we have not heard back from Don and our TV is still broken.
Description of Work: Don came to our house for the initial assessment. He diagnosed the problem and said he would order the part. He told us that the part would arrive in 1-2 weeks and then he'd be back to fix the TV. He never called us to let us know the part was in. We have subsequently left several messages and have not received a return call. It has been approximately 4 weeks since the original assessment and we have not heard from Don. We paid the initial fee with the expectation of service to fix our TV as he said he would do.

I drove to the address on the Angies List and found a vacant office. No signs. I called the phone number and got voicemail which said no calls would be returned during daylight hours. I wasted a lot of gas and time with no success. I recommend that this character be dropped from Angies List.

Paperwork indicated that the unit needs replacement of main PCB. Was suppose to call with firm price and the diagnostics charge was to apply to total repair. He never called me; I called and left message three times and never heard back. So basically he kept the $135.00. Not sure how he determined the problem without taking the TV down but I assumed he knew what he was talking about. This is not the issue, however. The issue is taking the monies and never calling back so basically nothing ever gets applied to the repair costs because he never comes back. Have in the meantime had the unit repaired with far less diagnostics charge which WAS applied to the repair costs.

I had two flat screen tvs that were not working. I was sure that one of them was not going to work again, but Don fixed it rather quickly. TV manufacturer stated CES was the closest authorized repair center for the model I have. I called and was able to get an appointment with 24 hours. The owner, Don Cressin, was prompt, courteous and professional. Worked for about 20 minutes and mentioned that the TV needs a part that must be ordered from the manufacturer. It should be in within a week and I would be called back for the repair appointment to be made. I called the following week since I did not heard back and had to leave a message. It took over 2 weeks to finally get in touch with Don. I was told the part would not be in until July. Since July 7, I have left no less than 10 message and several emails with NO response. I finally got an email two weeks ago that there was a medical emergency and was told I would be called back over the weekend. That did not happen so I left some more phone messages and emails just wanting to get some sore of response or update. I do not know how this business continues to exist as it has been the most frustrating company I have EVER had to deal with. The phone ALWAYS goes to the answer machine. I feel that if you will not be there, change your voice mail accordingly. Calls and emails are NEVER returned. It has been over 7 weeks and NOTHING! I am in $135 that would go towards the repair so I do not want to go elsewhere but this company has been completely unresponsive and leaves me no choice. Price and quality were left as N/A as the complete service was never completed so a final grade could not be left.

He spent quite a bit of time tracking down the parts that were needed and did everything he could fix the TV. Once he determined that the cost would be prohibitive and that the costs of replacing everything that would be needed would be too expensive he simply charged me the cost of the estimate and sent all the parts back. He was incredibly nice and did a fantastic job. I have recommended him to other people.

Unfortunately, I had to leave my home to catch a train. I asked Don to lock the door behind him when he left and call me when he did so to discuss his diagnosis. I eft him a check for his diagnosis fee of $135. He never called me. Nor did he return numerous calls and voicemails from me in the business days following. 5 days later, still no phone call. I put a stop payment on the check I wrote him because of this. He did attempt to deposit the check. I would not use him again, nor would I reccomend his services. Frankly, the whole situation is very shady. DO NOT TRUST THIS SOLE PROPRIETOR.

Don arrived when he said he would. He actually was able to squeeze us into his day! He not only repaired what was broken, but also took the time to go over all of the boards in the TV and repair anything else that needed it, or go over any other points that looked like they were beginning to show some wear. Don, the owner came himself and was fantastically punctual. He is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in his field. He diagnosed the TV problem, right away; replaced all the old parts, and did a great job of explaining the 'why's' and the 'what's'. He was efficient in his work and had a great demeanor. Hopefully, we won't have any more breakdowns but if we do, Don's our guy. Thank you. So refreshing to meet someone that knows their trade this well. My hats off to them.
