I was charged $641.58 for HVAC system repair and maintenance in a condo that is occupied by a tenant. After the services were delivered, the system would not cool below 75º F, until it stopped working altogether 48 hours later. I called to apprise the company of the issue. A technician showed up while the tenant was away but never sent me a diagnosis report. I had to call to find out what the issue was. I was told that several parts needed to be changed and that I should change the system. I waited for five days for Wright Mechanical to send me an estimate. In the end I used another company whose recommendation was to change the system since it was too old. Further, the new company stated that the repairs that had been performed by Wright Mechanical were not advisable given the age of the system. I called Wright Mechanical to get a partial refund, recognizing the work had been done, but noting that it had failed 48 hours later. Wright Mechanical refused to issue a partial reimbursement and didn't even bother to reply to my requests. Based on this experience, I advise against hiring this company. They are expensive, unreliable and unprofessional.

They were very good. I thought their price was very good. They were good on responsiveness. They came on time. Overall they were good. They did a good job, so they don't have to come back.

This provider was first hired to perform preventive maintenance and basic inspection of my HVAC. There noted the need for refrigerant but called while I was at work, not even bothering to leave a message. I then had to arrange for their return after being told it wasn't their responsibility to leave messages because the technician couldn't be expected to stop his progress at the complex. They noted no other issues and refilled the refrigerant. Several weeks later the unit stopped working and I contacted the business, emailing directly with the owner. I relayed my expectation that if preventive maintenance was performed an issue should have been caught, a message should have been left and my unit certainly should be working. After several email exchanges a technician returned to the unit to find a problem that should have been detected with the first and second visits. Instead of fixing the problem the technician was instructed by the owner to leave the premises, as the owner was unwilling to take a risk that work he performed might not be adequate. If you're looking for a company who stands behind their work and delivers good customer service, this is not the one. I three visits I paid $160 for a unit that is not working, only to be told that my emails asking them to stand behind their work were threatening and that work would not be completed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Description of Work: Preventive maintenance, refrigerant refill, called to assess (on their third visit in a few weeks) why the HVAC stopped working.

The work went very well. I was nitpicking about one aspect of the install which came about because I was not on site on the install date to tell my preference. They returned and fixed the issue to my liking. I dealt with Ms. Hamilton to schedule the return date and she was very accommodating of my schedule.

The guy was here for less than five minutes. He was unwilling to get an latter from his truck. He had a horrible attitude. I got a bill for $600 for less than five minutes. . They reduced it to $450 but still excessive for the amount of time. There hourly rate is $150 for emergency calls. OVER PRICED!! Complete rip off. There other bad reviews as well. I have learned after the fact. http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/01/wright-mechanical-criticized-71854.html One on Google

I called about replacing two A/C convector units in my new condo. I scheduled a time for them to come out and take a look at my place. The guy showed up at the right time and took a look at my two units. He seemed to know what he was doing and pointed out that one of them was working fine (which was great, before I moved in it wasn't working at all, I didn't even think to check), the other unit he said could use a new motor but might not need to be replaced. I asked for an estimate of the various options (repair vs. replacement) and wanted this to be taken care of soon, this being summer in DC, working air conditioning is pretty important. The guy who came out seemed pleasant and it seemed like it'd happen soon. I waited a week and heard nothing, so I called back. After I identified myself the person who answered the phone seemed to remember me and remember who was sent out. I asked why I hadn't heard anything and he promised I'd hear back soon. I waited a week and again heard nothing, so I called back. After I identified myself the person who answered the phone seemed to remember me and remember who was sent out. I asked why I hadn't heard anything and he promised I'd hear back soon. I waited a week and once again I heard nothing, so I called back. Same story as before, I was promised a call back and heard nothing. It has been several weeks now and it keeps getting hotter. I've now written off this company and am looking elsewhere. I probably should have looked for someone else after the first week. It is frustrating to lose all this time sitting around waiting.
Description of Work: Took a look at my place and then never heard from them again.

Response from Wright Mechanical Services LLC
[member name removed] was informed of the cost to replace / repair his convectors at the time of our first visit. [member name removed] called requesting a payment option to replace his convector which we do not offer. He was offered a service call to replace the convector fan motor but elected not to do so. His follow up call was identical to the first with the same result. We have no issue providing service or replacing the equipment but we require payment in full at the time of service.
