It was awful! They treated for bugs and fertilized my trees and lawn. Instead of keeping my lawn green like they said they would, they killed it. They were suppose to treat for weeds and that was the only thing growing. They would come to treat the trees with some chemical and treat my lawn with the same thing. Sometimes when I scheduled an appointment, they won't show up so I rescheduled the next month and not show up. This happened so many times. The technicians themselves would not know what they were doing and not show up. My neighbor that is still using them, he put in new sod. The sod is all dead.

I was fortunate to have good service with the young man that comes by.  He's attentive and after he's finished he tells me exactly what he did and what I need and recommendations.  I was well pleased with him.  I do it every couple or three months because I have the year plan.  They tell me what I need because I have some patches.  My yard is nice I've got to give it to them. It depends on the temperature of the yard how it grows and how it turns green. He gives me some recommendations on what to do, like don't cut the grass too short.  Tell the man who cuts the grass don't cut it too short because it will burn the grass faster. They just give me some recommendations, but he does give me the treatment when they come out.  On price, for someone who's the only person in the household, I guess it's reasonable.  It's average. I don't compare because my husband did this before he passed, so I'm doing it because I don't know anything about a yard. I would say average price.  They call and let me know when they're coming and if I'm not available, although I don't need to be available, I like to be available because I don't like for people to be in my yard when I'm not home.  If I call them to say I need to reschedule, they're good about that.

I can tell you who I wouldn't use.  The company is disorganized, they do not come out when they say they'll come out, and they don't return communications.  When the communications are returned, they are incorrect.  They keep poor records of conversations and conveniently forget commitments they've made.

They always try to upsell you. My wife pays that. She thinks they're pricey. But if you pay in advance you get a discount. They do five applications a year. When we have a drought, nothing does well. If you want them to do the bushes and trees, that's all extra cost. They show up and they contact you to get permission to access your yard. If I don't find anybody who is better, I would probably use them again.

The total is about $1,200. They do the job and do it well. I have not had any issues with them or getting in contact with folks there. They did not give me proper instructions for service I got so after they did the work on my lawn they did not tell me, like, I was supposed to water it in a certain way or other things. They did not give me those types of instructions so I did not know what to do afterwards. I am never here when they are here for the treatment.

They're skimpy on the amount that they put down. I've had them for a number of years. I had a different company put down a heavier amount and I liked what they did.

They sent an untrained employee out who failed to apply the chemicals correctly (forgot to turn on water to mix with the chemicals).  The end result is that my lawn was killed (a  previously lush lawn that had been built over many years of care).  It started dying within hours of the application.  They eventually came out to inspect the damage (after numerous phone calls) and recommended watering the lawn more to dilute the chemicals (it was already watered since it was summertime).  They decided to try seeding the dead lawn but the ground was sterile after the mistake made by their employee so nothing would grow.  After more calls and time, they agreed to re-sod the lawn but they didn't know how to apply sod so we ended up with sod being just placed all over the ground, no seams tucked away, the dead grass wasn't removed at the proper depth for the height of the sod being laid so people walking across the lawn kept tripping over the raised mounds of sod.  Most of the sod died (since the ground was still sterile from the extreme burn caused by Scott's Lawncare and the improper application of the sod).   Never, Ever use this company. They have untrained employees and they have terrible customer service policies and personnel.   We now have a reliable company caring for our lawn and it is once again very lush.

They are fine, very consistent. They do it regularly and they do a good job. The lawn looks just fine. The workers are fine, I hardly ever interact with them, but they call a day before they come to let us know they will come out. They are reliable and they use good quality products.

I'm on a plan where Scotts will come 7 times in the spring/summer/fall for a total of $280.  My lawn looks a whole lot better already, just after three visits.  I recommend them!

I was approached by a Scott?s employee soliciting in the neighborhood. I signed up for a plan for 5 applications of product through the Season (2013). They came out and started the applications. The weeds died off, and the lawn looked great, green and thick. I talked to them about seeding because I had some large bare spots, one in the front yard. They said they could not seed in the Spring due to the pre-emergent they put down. I then scheduled seeding; that they said would be done in early September. I called in August, to make sure, and they came about September 7th. When I got home from work, I looked at the seeding and was not happy. There were areas where the seed was so thick that you could not see dirt. I am talking about 6-8 sq. ft. There were other areas where there was no seed, and other areas that were sparse. I called and was told I had to wait at least two weeks to see how the seed sprouted. I was taking to the Manager. I told him that there were spots, some rather large, that had no seed and too much in other areas. He still said I had to wait, because I could not see the seed. It turned into an argument, with him defending the lousy seeding and me trying to get him to realize that grass is not going to grow where there is no seed. So, I waited the two weeks, and no one showed up. I called again and they sent out someone again. I had to be the same person, because they again dumped piles of seed in some areas, and none in others. This was after I specifically told them there was no seed near my A/C unit, and area about 6x15 feet. Again, no seed in that big bare area. Also, along my sidewalk and driveway there were spots where the grass came up and others where it was bare. I told him I wanted total coverage and he made excuses why it wasn?t done. I told him I wanted this fixed and he said he would come out himself. This was the Manager, Mike. I said to call so I could be there and go over the lawn with him. He did not call, and came out at 8 AM, dumped seed and took off. AGAIN, not total coverage, and bare spots along the driveway and sidewalk. The large bare spot near my A/C had seed, but by now, mid to late October, the seed was not going to take on bare dirt. I called again and complained that he came and left without talking to me. I got a ?I knocked? but no apology for not calling. I said I still wasn?t happy, and we argued again. I said I wanted to cancel my account, and he made no attempt to make thing right, except I had a balance and they just zeroed it out. It was about $180. He acted like I was supposed to be satisfied with this. I told him I should not have to pay for seeding when it wasn?t done right, so I didn?t consider that refund anything except not paying for seeding, nothing more. In January 2014 I got a call from a manager above Mike. He wanted to get me to sign up for 2014, and that they would fix things. I said for them to come out, seed and get the lawn right, and I would consider it. He said no, I had to sign up, and pay and they would start the service for 2014. I said that was not acceptable. He gave me an Oh well, and that was it.

If you think this is just me, look up Scotts on the BBB and complaintboard.com sites and see. I wish I had gone there first.

I want to point out that I went to a Home Improvement store, bought over 20 bags of humus/manure and spread it on my front and side lawns in anticipation of the seeding. I watered like they asked. I ended up spending about $600 between service, water, and manure, and ended up with a lawn I would rate at about a 6-7. My backyard, that wasn?t in the contract, was so green and thick that the one service guy commented on it. I said to the managers that I expected my front and sides to look better than the back, considering they were experts. I got no comment on that. Also, I have used Scott?s products when I did my own lawn service, and I think their products are excellent. Just don?t use the service.

All last year, I just had them do the front yard since I have minimal grass in the back.  The first bill of this season came in at full price charge, I called, they said it would be corrected.  5 Services later.....I should have a credit since I told them a long time ago that I hadn't changed anything since last year and should be charged the same, but have been billed at the cost of a full front and back yard.  No one seems to understand it. At one point I was credited $18.00....have no idea why they considered this half of $63.00.  I've been calling for two weeks now, to no avail.  Don't use them.  the people who actually do the work on the yard are super nice......but the office is horrible and no one takes responsibility for addressing any billing issues.  Fine until there's an issue...then you'll regret it.

We were on an automatic billing and they were here all the time. I was getting billed every two weeks. Their service was just average. I really didn't feel like that went out of their way to do the applications. I could only see the flags.
