I was so happy with the work of J&S Painting Contractors and Home Improvement, that we are hiring them again for the several more housing projects. They do excellent work and always stick to the schedule. We had great crews working with us and the management team was always accessible. If I thought more product needed to be added, I called them and they came right away and completed the task. They also have very competitive pricing.

Mr. Fred honored everything he said he was going to do PLUS. He even offered to paint my Steel Door (Free of Charge). Everything was done with Professionalism and I am very satisfied. Both doors that needed replacement were old and damaged (including the frame). Everything was replaced and I could not be more satisfied. The expertise and the end results deserve an A+. I will be calling Mr. Fred again in the future for my next project. Thank You Mr. Fred!!!

It did not go well because the owner did not tell me that prepping the walls before they were painted was not included in the price - they said that many of the things were wall imperfections and the owner didn't tell me that they could not smooth it out before painting. They left paint drippings on the wall, big knots of paint that they wouldn't correct, they didn't clean the walls before painting, and they removed electrical plate outlets and damaged some of the walls in the process. There were only three rooms out of nine that were painted okay and the main bathroom's paint job was awful I am going to have to pay someone to come repaint it and smooth out the wall before painting.

Mr. Johnson of J & S was very professional. Explained the process very well and kept me updated to what was going on with the project. The work was very timely. Mr. Johnson worked directly with my insurance company and really turned this nightmare situation into a pleasurable experience. Very pleased with the end results. I highly recommend this contractor and will be my go to person for any future projects.

The owner came out personally and did the estimate. He told me no pressure, to call when I was ready to do the job. He was very responsive. Yes, I would use them again for a quote.

Required weeks for coordination of just an estimate and then abruptly declined.

J&S Painting Contractors exceeded my expectations. Their work on my master bathroom remodel is absolutely stunning to say the least. Fred and his team provided notch repairs and customer service every step of the process. When questions arose J&S took the time to fully answer them. A few times during the process they also worked closely with my insurance company completely removing me as the middle man. J&S is a wonderful company that provides wonderful services. I will definitely be back for future projects.

I found Mr. Johnson to be very pleasant and professional to work with. He always arrived prepared to discuss whatever it was we needed to go over. His contract clearly stated what was to be done and paid for and he wanted you to understand and be clear pertaining to those items. The house looked great and sold the day it was officially on the market.

I had purchased a voucher to have a room painted. I did not have a problem with them painting the room, but what I did was afterwards, I hired them to do some painting at my home and they did not do a great job. Since I had the paint job done, they still have not come back to touch up what they was supposed to touch up. They did a poor job. Some stuff wasn't painted and I don't feel I have to contact you when you know that you was supposed to do something. They could have done better and I didn't have a problem with paying them what they asked me to pay them. I find it kind of strange that we tried to make an appointment several times to have the painters come back, but at the last minute the last time they were scheduled to come he cancelled and I haven't heard from him since. It was not worth $1400. Everyday I look at this and I am like "If you are going to paint, I would think you would plaster and cover up the lumps and the bumps or sand them down. There is a lot of things they didn't do. I think they were over priced. They were punctual. Their professionalism was a little higher than average. I don't appreciate the service that I received. I would not refer him to anyone. Initially, I would have, but here it is months later and I still have not heard from him and I don't feel as a consumer, I shouldn't have to call you and say "Mr. Johnson, okay it's been 3 months. What is your plan?" I guess I am just going to have to take it as a loss.

This review is long overdue. Mr. Johnson and his company have given me and my church exceptional service. I contacted J&S close to the deadline of my church's 50th anniversary. The entire church needed to be painted along with the ceiling repaired in a classroom from a leak in the roof. Mr. Johnson met me at my church arriving before me. He provided me a list of references to look over as he took measurements. Our sanctuary has some very tall walls presenting some tough challenges .([*** Link removed ***] Mr. Johnson assured me that this was not a problem for his team. After taking all the measurements Mr Johnson told me he would write up a quote and have it to me the next day. Sure enough I got the quote the next day and presented to our building committee. Even though the J&S quote was inline with the other quotes received our church requested a lower price. Mr. Johnson was able work with us without sacrificing the quality of the companies work. Once the controls was signed work began promptly every morning at 7:30 am and not stopping till after 6:00 pm in the evening. The workers left our church clean every evening as the work progressed. Mr. Johnson was always available to talk about any aspect of the project. The project came to a close and Mr. Johnson and myself performed a walk through. He was more than willing to address any concerns pointed out. Needless to say J&S completed the job on time for our anniversary. I enjoyed working Mr. Johnson so much I even recommended his company to my parents who needed a new roof and siding on there home. They hired J&S but I will leave them a chance to give J&S a glowing review.

It went fine. It was a little more than the ordinary room I had to do some touch up so they had to do that first then come back another day you know that's fine, I had to pay extra but. $125 extra.

I can not stop grinning about my newly painted home and the services provided by J&S Painting Contractors and Home Improvements!!! I recently closed on my home (built in 2009) and was very excited to persevere in purchasing the property. What I was not excited about in the home were the multiple paint colors, painting techniques including venetian plaster, stripes and stencils, DIY decorations, and an overabundance of wallpaper! I knew that I absolutely had to get the house painted prior to move-in. Hence, my introduction to Fred - the owner of J&S. He was the first contractor that I contacted, and ultimately the best. As a new home owner, he educated me about the work required to restore my home to new construction type quality. I was very impressed with his professionalism, forthrightness, and attention to detail. However, as a consumer, I performed my due diligence and got estimates from other companies. I did not choose those vendors for a variety of reasons- inability to immediately start job, requirement for me to pick up paint, length of time for projected finish-3weeks, "piece-mealing" the job costs, inferior paint usage, etc. With J&S I was provided with comprehensive service which included consultation with Fred about color selection, quality paint usage with complimentary pick-up, responsive communication, references that I could contact for verification of work performed, and of great importance - competitive pricing. His crew set up on Sunday and was done 1 week later! The paint colors look fantastic (Sherwin Williams-Agreeable Gray, Anew Gray, Collonade Gray), and the crew did an excellent job of painting my entire 2,500+ sq. ft. townhouse including baseboards/trim, walls, ceilings, closets, etc. Everything. All of this work done against the challenge of greatly compromised wall surfaces. They especially worked wonders on the golden colored venetian plastered walls! I am beyond satisfied with the work performed. From the first day of painting, I knew that I made the right decision to transform and renew my home - and to select J&S as my service provider. I will most definitely be using J&S Contractors and Home Improvements for future services!!!

Fred Johnson was initially responsive and professional, giving me a quote for part of the work. Later when I asked him to add the floor installation, he quoted me a much higher price per square foot than he did initially; this should have been my first warning. He agreed to perform the service for the lower price. When it was time for the written contract, however, things changed. In a text, he said painting was included. When I asked later about him painting, his response was, "are we painting?". He again agreed to perform the task after I pointed to the original text. Second warning. The last straw was when I asked him to clarify his language regarding specifics being done, he got defensive, acted like certain things were a "given" and refused to make any amendments, despite having said the work would be done a certain way. As the contract was about 9 pages long, and a serious legal document, I was not satisfied with his defensiveness and unwillingness to fix the wording. HE bowed out of the agreement and began berating me via e-mail, accusing me of trying to keepa brother down, support a white business etc... Oh, he also refused to remove a statement from the contract that stated that I said something THAT I DID NOT SAY and was never discussed as part of the work. I am so glad I did not go with this company, as there was too much back and forth, inconsistency with pricing/details, and complete lack of professionalism in my interactions with him. I made it clear that I wanted an upfront, honest quote from day 1 and he kept changing things.

This past spring, J & S Contractors painted 2 bedrooms and living room / dining room for me. They also installed carpet in the 2 bedrooms. They did an AWESOME job. Very professional and the work was done in the time initially stated. We also had them paint our front porch and exterior of the house. Another awesome job. This past summer, I returned home from vacation to a flooded kitchen, livingroom/dining room and a flooded basement. I called J & S Contractors and they came in right away and started mitigation work. I ended up using J&S for all the repairs. They literally had to rebuild the basement (reinstall drywall, paint, and install new carpet) and install new flooring (hardwood floors) in the living room, dining room, foyer, hallway and 1/2 bath. They did an AWESOME job once again. This project ended up costing over $25,000. Fred (the owner) always kept me up to date with what they were doing and the daily progress. He and his staff were always very professional. I would recommend J & S Painting Contractors for ALL HOME REPAIRS. Whatever you need - painting, drywall, flooring, etc.. You will definitely be satisfied and comfortable working with Fred and his staff. They are honest, professional, and understanding. I highly recommend them for ALL JOBS - small and large. You won't be disappointed in the service he and his team provide. I know I will be using them for any and all jobs I need done.

I took advantage of an Angie's List special and had one of the owners, Fred, come and paint two metal doors. Painting metal doors can be tricky business and I didn't want to mess it up. Fred did the job to perfection! No runs, no drips...just smooth as silk. We were so happy with his work that we hired his company to paint our two story main foyer. His men came by on a Sunday and knocked off that rather large job in about five hours. This included repairing multiple nail pops and a long stretch of peeling, exposed drywall tape. It looks fantastic! No way I could have tackled the job myself or had it look half as good. These are friendly, hardworking professionals. They're also all extremely friendly, personable guys. I highly recommend using their services. I know I won't hesitate to call them if I need more work done in the future.

Fred and his crew were very professional and they kept their word on everything that we discussed. There was never a problem throughout the whole time they worked on my house. I enjoyed working with them and I would definitely refer this company to anyone who is looking for reliable and reputable home improvement services.

J&S Painting did an outstanding job. The staff was punctual, professional, accommodating and focused on the job. I could not have asked for a better team to trust this job with.

EXcellent. They arrived right on time and were very efficient and neat in their work.

This was a $99 big deal. They sent out three painters. They did not paint the room I wanted. I was a horrible experience, it really was. I would not use them again. I think he did a switch and bait. I was very disappointed. He told me the day that I electronically scheduled my job to be done, I got the indication that was fine. So I am looking for him to come. I called him the day before and he said he did not even have me on his list. He said he had no record. I said the communication that I got from his company indicated that I was on the list. I said I was trying to figure out what time he was coming. He said he was so overwhelmed. He asked me to allow him to look at his schedule and to schedule me on a time that was good for him. He said by doing this he would not only do my bedrooms but he would do my baseboards, the ceiling and he said he would do the closet. I said that sounded good. So we rescheduled, I think it was a month out. That was fine with me, on a Saturday. Then I got a call from him and I had wanted him to come because I wanted estimates on other work. When he called he said first and foremost my room was larger than the size of the advertisement. I explained to him that I went by the builder's diagram that said what the room size was. He said he would have him men measure it and it was larger. I asked if I could pay the difference as long as they were here. He said they were not going to be able to paint. I said I had removed everything out of my bedroom as they asked me to do and that I would pay the difference but he would not do that. He was just so inconsiderate. Then the guys said they could not do the ceilings anyway because the ceiling was textured. I asked them to paint over it and they would not. I explained that I needed to have the work done because of a special occasion and they were so non-compliant. So his men painted a closet, but did not paint the ceiling as he said they would. I was disappointed. I think he was terrible. He was complaining about how people were misinterpreting the big deal offer.

All the joint tape that had popped looks fantastic. The water damage from a leaking skylight is totally gone and looks fresh and new. The rest of the walls and ceilings are done smoothly and nicely. All of it makes our house look updated and fresh.

Fred & his assistant arrived as scheduled. Took the time to help me understand the service to be performed and did an excellent job on the room. I will highly recommend them to friends & family.

It started of shaky because we ordered by phone and the contractor never received our order. We contacted him and he didn't have an opening until Sept. Which was too long of a wait for us so he for fit us in, we scheduled and came to do the job within a couple of weeks, as scheduled. He was very accommodating and very professional. Anytime we had questions on any issue including paint he was willing and very able to assist us. He actually put in 3 days for a job scheduled for 1 1/2 days, no fault of his own. A very conscientious individual.
